[ A break from your regularly scheduled Sanguis in the late afternoon of July 1. On video is an almost naked JJ - standing much taller than normal, scales crawling over his arms and to his face, with curved horns. He's dressed in an oversized t-shirt that says I'm Not Perfect, But I'm Canadian. So close enough.

He's holding up a Canadian flag, which he got from god knows where, and it's mostly hiding that he's actually clothed today. He's grinning stupidly, fangs and all. His voice sounds just a little different thanks to being exalted, though he sounds quite cheerful. The background? His kitchen. Clean but there's definitely a lot of baked goods even in view. ]

Happy Canada Day! If I were home today, I'd be eating my mom's berry pie and watching fireworks. I could probably find some fireworks, and I am great at baking, but nothing is as good as mom's, I guess.

That being said I made way too many sweets and I can't eat them all, so if anyone wants some baked goods, they're free to a good home. Just drop your info and I'll have them delivered to you. I have a few different variety of pies, some Nanaimo bars, that sort of thing.

If you don't want sweets, tell me about a food you're missing from home.

Born and raised in Canada. I mean, I travel a lot because of competitions, so I've been a lot of places, but I love my home.

Where are you from?

Italy. I hope you've had the chance to visit there at least once in your travels. What do you compete in?

I've visited Italy a couple of times for fun. I'm a figure skater, though. I've had to explain what that is to more people than not since I got here, so it's fine if you haven't heard of it.

Are you? I know of the sport, but I can't say I've ever seen it in person.

[There were some kinda rando championships held in Italy every so often. He only ever heard about it on the radio news station and didn't care enough to investigate further.]

I do know it takes great skill to master.

It's a lot of practice but I like winning....so totally worth it. You could say it's in my blood [ grin ] My parents both did the sport, too.

There's a rink on Level 1 in PrismaPlace so I don't miss out on any training, too. If you ever stop by, there's a good chance either I'll be there, or my competition will be.

[ maybe both if yuri can handle being in the same room as him!! ]

That's noble of you to continue your family's line of work. I'm sure they're proud of you for it.

[Like, he can respect that. Even if it's ice skating instead of a fight against semi-immortal beings.

And if anything, it would be entertaining to watch. It's not like he's pressed for time in this place.]
