[ A break from your regularly scheduled Sanguis in the late afternoon of July 1. On video is an almost naked JJ - standing much taller than normal, scales crawling over his arms and to his face, with curved horns. He's dressed in an oversized t-shirt that says I'm Not Perfect, But I'm Canadian. So close enough.
He's holding up a Canadian flag, which he got from god knows where, and it's mostly hiding that he's actually clothed today. He's grinning stupidly, fangs and all. His voice sounds just a little different thanks to being exalted, though he sounds quite cheerful. The background? His kitchen. Clean but there's definitely a lot of baked goods even in view. ]
Happy Canada Day! If I were home today, I'd be eating my mom's berry pie and watching fireworks. I could probably find some fireworks, and I am great at baking, but nothing is as good as mom's, I guess.
That being said I made way too many sweets and I can't eat them all, so if anyone wants some baked goods, they're free to a good home. Just drop your info and I'll have them delivered to you. I have a few different variety of pies, some Nanaimo bars, that sort of thing.
If you don't want sweets, tell me about a food you're missing from home.

I always liked Sparklers, personally. I'm in total control of the light. Especially if I'm holding a few at once.

So totally not for kids. I also like those snappers. My siblings and I used to throw them at each other.

I mean, that's nothing like bottle rocket tag or something. I like stuff with a lot of color. Especially like red. Which given that this is Fourth of July stuff, I'm going to guess there's a lot.

You said you have siblings? I think I told you I have one too cause you're Canadian. We look the exact same.. it's kind of fun.
[ It's fun cause everyone blames Canada for shit that America did and he likes getting away with being a criminal, I guess. ]

[ He says this.. to a Canadian's face.. and hands JJ a little box of snappers as he takes one of his own. His dog tail starts to wag and he has a rather fond look in his eyes as he looks at the snappers. ]
Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like if I were Canada instead. But.. he's so laid back... drags his ass all the time. Oh, and I don't like moose, so it probably wouldn't have been great.
I really like being me though.
[ we're veering off into suddenly profound area.. sorry he does this. ]
Do you ever think about that? What it would be like to be someone else and if you'd like that or not?

[ There's an amused little twitch at the corner of his mouth when he says it because of course there is. Hey, there's not a big difference, but he can tease. He has to tease. ]
What did moose ever do to you? I don't see a whole lot of them, but I spend most of my time in cities.
[ He blinks, and shakes his head. ]
Not really. I like being who I am so I don't think about being someone else. I mean, no need to mess with perfection, right?
[ He moves his hand into the box of snappers and pulls out one. He wonders if his neighbors will like if he's about to throw it at the tile in his kitchen to test it out? Because that is...totally what he's doing. ]
