Furthermore, though this feels like the wrong time to do so, allow me to introduce myself: I am Thranduil, Elven-King of the Woodland Realm.

If he has people who believe in him, who can stabilize him, that does make a difference. I have seen madness; he does not seem susceptible to it currently.

{But that can change.}

He told me of the Drows in their twilight city. {Now he is drawn to another interest, however.} May I inquire as to your race?

{Thranduil eyes the color, unable to determine where on the spectrum she lies.}

Oh, no. The night elves, they lived in a tree the size of a city before the Horde burned it down. Those in their moon city, they are Nightborne. They joined the Horde. I think they are the same elves, only 10.000 years apart in solitude. Very strange.

[ Shrug. She doesn't really adventure, so she didn't pay full attention. There were portals to keep going.

Thranduil's comment about her job makes her a little huffy, though. ]

I do not teach children war! That would be terrible, no? I teach them where magic is from and how it works. The history and the use. Small spells for the oldest, but not so much.

[ He's kind of right, that's the problem. They will eventually at least experience war, but all races tried to shield their children from that for as long as possible. Hopefully most will be strange people in towers and not hardened warriors on battlefields. ]

Me, I am draenei. Our people, we are not natives of Azeroth, but the world, it is given us new hope. It is our home after the millennias of running from demons.

[ The little tendrils by her ears rise in a 'wave', and she pans the camera a bit to show her horns, tail and hooves. ]

I can understand different lines separating over a period of time. It has happened on Arda too. Every Elf must decide what they prize most. Still, the idea of a city bathed in the light of the moon and stars appeals to me.

{There are likely places in his palace where he has a clear view of the night sky above the tree line.

Her answer is comforting and he smiles.}

It is being very complicated. They closed their city, to be avoiding the demons instead of fighting with everyone else. Then they were trapped for very long.

[ She can't really blame them, as her people ran. It was the 'joining the demons' later that was the issue.

At his comment about not being rash, her smile softens. ]

My people, we live very long lives. I am a few decades of age by our people, but far older than the many other races. It gives time to learn what is important, yes?

[ I like the look of you is a funny way to put it, but gives him a little wink. ]

Mm that sounds familiar. {Multiple races on Arda had tried that ploy. He finds the idea tantalizing - why lose anyone if there is no reason to fight? - however he has trained his army to stand tall.}

A few decades is no time at all! {He smiles and inclines his head.} True. I watch others often; there is so much that is left unsaid.

{Thranduil looks pleased - he had meant it as a compliment.}

Few would dare to compliment me openly.

[ She gives him a little wink, enjoying a bit of flirting now and then, even if he might not be interested. It was just fun to do! ]

I fear I might be more intimidating than beautiful. {Which is how he prefers it, actually. His reputation is no accident.

She is cute and he doesn't mind the flirting in the slightest.}

I have. I believe I can tell the natives from those like us. What intrigues me is that they too are varied.

Intimidating? Not in the bad way. A king, yes, it is a little serious to be polite, but you are not so cold as you try to seem, no?

[ She smiles again, tail swishing a bit on her bed behind her. ]

...and I am agreeing with you on that. The prismals, they seem to mix their appearance a lot. Some, it might even the technology that makes them look different. Very unusual.
