Well, well. It seems it's true, then, that the potential exists for every monthly moon cycle to elicit a different set of changes in an individual. It's not exactly what I'd call reassuring, I suppose, but it's some consolation nevertheless. There are worse things to contend with than bioluminescence — which is proving to be a nuisance, but a tolerable one.

Of slightly more concern to me is the matter of moonlacing. While I recall that it's possible to get by on brief and simplistic methods of contact, it's also my understanding that a minimalist approach leaves a person exposed to a certain level of risk, should an unexpected drain on their chroma abruptly leave them overdrawn, as it were.

With that in mind, I'd be interested in negotiating terms for a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Let me stress that this is not a solicitation. Bold-faced overtures seeking sex will be denied without response. Consider this more an...attempt to establish certain contingencies, to afford everyone involved a little more peace of mind.

A little over half a year. Though it wasn't until fairly recently that I've managed to get to a place in which my Chroma levels are more comfortable.

Really? Then I assume something must have changed for the better for you, fairly recently.

A friend from home showed up and is staying with me. Before now I was living alone.

I find it interesting, how this place seems to draw in people with preexisting connections. I've had a few friends from home arrive here as well.

Would this friend of yours be a god as well, perhaps?

I'm still unsure if he and another friend being here is a good thing. But considering time stands still (or whatever it is it does) back home it's okay...ish?

Were he and your friend in the middle of something important, back home? You seem troubled by the thought of their being away.

Well, they're jobs are a great deal more important than my own. But due to the way this world's magic works I suppose it doesn't matter much in the end.

...Ah. And therefore by coming here, they've left their posts unattended, as it were.

What do you mean by, "due to the way this world's magic works"? And you said that time stands still at home, while we're gone — what led you to that conclusion?

Yeah.

I've heard from others that when they returned home it was to the very moment they were taken. So in a sense time stands still.

Meaning that no one in our home worlds will ever have the opportunity to take action without us. That it will be as though we were never gone?

That...would be an immense relief. Assuming it's universally true.

That or time can move forward but its as if we never left since we return to the moment we were taken. I'm not sure which scenario is the case.

That raises the question of divergent timelines, doesn't it? One carries on ahead without us, the other waits patiently for our return.

I'm not sure I like the sound of that, either. Here's hoping it's the former case, and time really does stand still.

I find it unsettling either way. That something or someone has the power to take us all from our home and influence the way time flows there.

On top of it all, we don't remember our time here when we return home.
