Excuse me, I tried to do my research before asking but I couldn't find my answer. Has anybody become a quite literal animal here during one of the moons? I assume it will go away once the moon is gone but I am concerned over some details. Were you actually that animal? For example, if you became a dog, would you still have died if you ate chocolate? I am mostly worried about any medical ramifications from this.
If anybody knows then I would appreciate the information.
I am still open to doing commissions if anybody would like a new piece despite everything.
Also do you ever just think this might be a punishment from God?
[Soubi will say that last bit was a joke but he's really starting to consider if this is all just some big punishment for him. Like, right? This is all very horrible?]

But never mind that.] Either way, yes. Ingredients still stay the same. It's a simple recipe and really, homemade pasta cooks faster. It's a good idea to make it in bulk. [Not that Soubi doesn't just buy pre-made pasta like every other person but he can make it just fine.]

[ She imagines that having an extra floofy tail while everyone else's is a normal shorthair or whatever probably got him a lot of unwanted attention. She'd for sure find it annoying. She doesn't really need an explanation, she can assume well enough. ]
You make half a batch then and I'll watch, then make half a batch. Otherwise we'll end up with too much pasta.

[Soubi isn't exactly a good teacher. Really, he just says out exact measurements and does it.] If you have a mixer or even a food processor then this makes it a lot quicker [but Soubi doesn't spend more money than he has to since it all goes to Seimei] but basically it's like making your own bowl with the flour. You make a well and put the eggs, the olive oil, some salt...[He takes chopsticks and starts whisking the eggs.] Once the eggs are properly mixed just start adding some of the flour slowly. Anybody can do this.

[ That's a wide gap between when you should and when you can... Emerald probably will figure it out with sniffing it since she's pretty sure expiration dates are made up half the time. (Or she just has a really strong stomach from years of eating whatever she could get.)
She takes a place next to him and watches him while he prepares his half of the ingredients. ]
So it's basically bread, but with eggs instead of yeast...
[ It's amazing how one ingredient different can come up with such a different texture... ]

[Soubi would still eat it if he simply had nothing else. Sometimes you just don't have the energy to make anything else. Simple as that.
By the time he's been able to combine everything together, finally making the dough and kneading it, he keeps explaining.] The dough needs to be smooth and obviously not sticky. Keep adding flour to help with that. [And then he has a ball and he shows it to her before going to get plastic wrap to wrap it up.] This needs to sit for thirty minutes. Not hard, right? Make sure to use it up immediately or you can put it in the fridge for a day. Or else it isn't cold enough to stop bacteria from growing.

..Though she guesses she wouldn't have really had anywhere to plug it in without being easy to find, so that wouldn't have worked out anyway. She always thought freezers just delayed it, but altogether is pretty cool. ]
I'll probably just make the whole batch at once then freeze portions in tupperware so I can take them out and heat them up.
[ Easy pasta sounds like a good plan. ]

You should try making your dough now. I'll let you know if you do anything wrong.

[ Emerald rushes over to wash her hands before she touches the ingredients, then sets out to make her own little volcano out of the dry ingredients and putting the wet ingredients in the pit, taking Soubi's chopsticks because there's no point in dirtying another pair to whisk it. It's pretty messy, then she just pushes the dry outside in to try to smush it together as much as possible without getting goop onto her hands before finally giving in and kneading it. ]
Okay, my fingers feel sticky, how do I know whether it's the dough or my fingers?
[ She's just gonna keep kneading it until he says to stop. ]

Cover your hands with some of this and the dough won't stick as much to your hands. Only sprinkle flour on your workspace.

[ She holds her hands out for some oil, hoping it'll help anyway. ]

[He covers her hands lightly with some of the oil and then puts it to the side.]
But you're not a kid so I think it should be okay.

[ Soubi teaching kids sounds like kids watching R rated movies and Soubi not telling them to ask their parents about what they see. ]
I would pay money to watch you teach a bunch of kids, though.
[ That sounds hilarious.
Her dough gets done and she gets unstuck with a bit of elbow grease and the oil. ]
I guess we roll it out and cut it now?

Anyway, back to cooking.]
We'll let yours sit for half an hour. Mine should be ready. [He gets his and then frowns.] Hm. I forgot to wrap them in some plastic wrap so they didn't dry out...
[Usually he's better than this but he is not a good teacher. Oh well. Learn by mistake, Emerald. He wraps hers for her though and goes back to his, poking it.] It isn't too dried out so it's fine. Anyway. Sprinkle some more flour, roll it out so thin that when you lift it up, you can see through it a bit...[Once he's finished rolling, he shows her.] See? Like this. Roll them up into these cylinder-like shapes. Loosely so you can unroll and then cut them up how thick you want your noodles. [Which he does and once they're unrolled, they do look like linguine!] I don't have a drying rack for these so you just have to make a loose pile and sprinkle with flour so they don't stick. Got it?

[ She watches him wrap her noodles up and once he's done, she goes and pokes her index and middle finger against it to make a little indent, as if to label it as hers. (There's only one other one and they're going to use it, so there's really no point.) ]
So we have to dry it out before we put it into the water?
[ She just wants to cook it now.. ]
