[ dextera does not know what a jinba is, but based on what she’s said so far, it would seem it’s her species. he wonders if they normally lay eggs, or if it’s more of a live birth kind of a deal… but that feels strange to wonder about a stranger. ]

I don’t know if we’ll make eggs again. This world is constantly changing, and our biologies are changing to match it. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day, we all found ourselves capable of carrying native Prismal children.

Hopefully just “moon times.”

Oh. I’m not sure. Besides the one under the moons, the only birth I’ve ever helped with was instantaneous. I’ve never learned about how reproduction works otherwise.

[ …he realizes, though, this is not helpful. ]

But the Lunar Scientia is making strides all the time with their understanding of the Moonblessed. Maybe it’s different here.

[ yeah okay he can see how that would sound ]

Yes. But it was divine.

[ dextera has let this conversation get out of hand… but he can’t also just change the subject now. ]

“Child” isn’t exactly right. They were eggs, too. That’s what she called them.

I suppose you could call me the midwife anyway.

[ give him a moment to parse this… yeah, okay. ]

It’s a little complicated. It might be more abstract than I realized. I’m sorry.

I don’t mind. Is voice easier for you?

[ for the most part, even people who aren’t good with text can usually communicate verbally… but maybe she has her reasons for wanting to stick to text. ]

[ it is a sad question. dextera doesn’t know if he should regret distracting her from her sadness with his own absurd world, or if she appreciates the confusion. ]

All right. Maybe I can explain it better with gestures.

But it’s OK to be sad. Even the most generous worlds can be cruel in their own ways.
