Hello, everyone! [He waves for the camera.] My name is Ren and I'm an idol. I approach the network today because I wish to meet other singers. Professional ones or just people who really love to sing.

You see, I'm part of a seven member boyband, so being on my own out here is kind of lonely. So I want to meet others who enjoy singing to help fill the void.

I also do play the saxophone, so hearing about others playing musical instruments would be nice.

[He then shrugs, amused.] Or just hearing about what music means to you works as well.

And I dunno, man, music means... a lot of things to me. I don’t think I’ve ever put it into words before.

[He thinks briefly, fondly, to Ittoki who also plays guitar.]

I could see that you have a connection. Your headphones. I assume you always wear them?

Yeah. I stopped for awhile since they were sorta like a crutch and I think I've been better about it now but I really do just like listening to music a lot rather than just using it to drown out the gossip.

[A bit of a small shrug here. Things have been better in Inaba and the gossiping housewives who think he couldn't hear them had lessened greatly so there wasn't much of a need to wear them so much as just a want.]

I can definitely relate to drowning out noise with music. It has helped in many phases of my life.

[Especially when he was a kid.]

What kind of music do you listen to?

Oh, all sorts. Faves are soundtracks from a lot of western movies. Actually, probably just a lot of songs from over there in general? I mean, nothing wrong with our own music, I got my fair share of idol faves and j-rockers and such, too.

[But, y'know. They got a lot more diversity, in his opinion, over in the US and other Western countries compared to Japan.]

Western music is definitely interesting. I'd love to take some influences from there to my music. I have experimented with Spanish music, actually.

[It was a fun experiment, actually.]

How would you feel about karaoke? I've talked about it with a few already.
