So I say thank you for the music | video | un: saxitup
Hello, everyone! [He waves for the camera.] My name is Ren and I'm an idol. I approach the network today because I wish to meet other singers. Professional ones or just people who really love to sing.
You see, I'm part of a seven member boyband, so being on my own out here is kind of lonely. So I want to meet others who enjoy singing to help fill the void.
I also do play the saxophone, so hearing about others playing musical instruments would be nice.
[He then shrugs, amused.] Or just hearing about what music means to you works as well.

Hi Ren! Guess I shouldn’t be surprised you’re an idol. I play guitar myself.
And I dunno, man, music means... a lot of things to me. I don’t think I’ve ever put it into words before.

[He thinks briefly, fondly, to Ittoki who also plays guitar.]
I could see that you have a connection. Your headphones. I assume you always wear them?
no subject
[A bit of a small shrug here. Things have been better in Inaba and the gossiping housewives who think he couldn't hear them had lessened greatly so there wasn't much of a need to wear them so much as just a want.]

There's a bar up on Level 1 that seems really nice and has Karaoke booths.

[Although his speech is polite, there's a lilt of excitement to his voice that he's clearly trying to repress.]
My name is Sougo Ousaka, and I'm also part of a seven member male idol unit back home. I never would have expected to meet someone in the same situation here!
I've been working in the music industry here as well, so if you have any questions about it, I'd be happy to help however I can.
no subject
[That's as polite he can get. Well, not really, but he's mostly being casual.]
That is quite the coincidence. Then again, they do say seven is a lucky number. Maybe we can share stories of our bands sometime?
[He sure has stories.]
That'd be great. Maybe the main question here is... how hard is it to get in on it?
no subject
But more than that, I'd love to hear about your group! I have all of our music from home in addition to the subunit work I've done here, so I'd be happy to share that with you in return.
[Just barely, he laughs under his breath.]
Surprisingly, it isn't as difficult as you'd think. Given that you have experience, you can pursue nearly any path you'd like with no trouble. I only know the ins and outs of my agency, but I'm an employee in addition to being an idol, so I should be able to help if you decide to look into it.

Not that there's anything wrong with STARISH.
I would love to hear you sing sometime. I suggested a karaoke night earlier.

A seven-member boyband... oh, you mean like Suzaku and Kaya were, here...
[ She remembers that chaos a bit too well. But he asked about their skills, so- ]
I sing, but it is nothing like what I've heard here. I am mostly a dancer, however. It's something I've done ever since I was little. I used to perform for my people, back home. Though...
[ She looks sheepish. ]
What is... a "saxaphone"?
no subject
[From time to time, at least.]
Dancing is also a beautiful talent and I can see you performing and enchanting dance, lady.
[He winks, but then he moves the camera to show a newly bought saxophone.]
This is a saxophone. You play it by blowing into it and pressing the buttons to make different sounds.

[Or maybe that's just her region. There was Metal Legion. They were considered a band just not a boyband.
More like a catband.
'cause they're cats.]
The music I've heard so far is nothing like what I'm used to but it's enjoyable in it's own way. Still, I'd give anything at this point to be able to sing a tavern song and not have people look at me strangely...
[Ahah-- why did she admit that? ANYWAY.]
I play violin better than I sing, though.
no subject
[He laughs.]
I wouldn't look you strangely. I'm sure I would be enchanted by your singing, lady.
Same goes for your violin. I would love to hear that.

[Lucy won't admit to finding the idea of meeting an idol kind of exciting. He's pretty handsome too. Since she doesn't recognize him, she concludes that he isn't from 'her' world. If he was, surely she'd have seen him on an ad somewhere.
Oh well.
She purposefully skips over giving her own name. Why would he care? She's not interesting enough to remember.]
Not a musician myself. You writing your own music here, though?
no subject
[Wrong. Ren is interested in every girl. Sorry Lucy.]
I intend to. Lately my music has been written by the most talented composer... but I have some knack for writing songs myself. I'm much better at lyrics however.
[If he can find a composer here, he will definitely go back to that route.]

Seven members in the band? Doesn't that get tiring? You'd only have such few solos.
[ She can't even begin to imagine... She's more used to performing alone, though. ]
no subject
It does sometimes. Honestly, when we first started I didn't want to join the band... but I don't regret I did. We do try to get everyone solos every now and then.
[He shrugs.] And there's always solo and smaller group projects. I do have my own songs.
