[It is in the heat of the triple moon and someone is a moth-like creature.
She's recording in her residence, which appears a little more put together than the last time she addressed the network from it. Evidently, she has been surviving quite well enough on her own.
Perne is trying to hide a portion of herself as subtly as she can, dark hair in her eyes, but the fuzzy antennae dangle to and fro and with four arms, she does twice as much fidgeting.
...This is, truthfully, the first time she's been so open about her transformation. In the end, she is here for a reason.]
Do we have any painters here? I suppose one adept in sketching would also suffice.
I would like to commission a piece.
[She pauses.]
It must be tasteful, yet alluring and beautifully sensual.
[Perne shifts just enough to sit back before she continues.]
I can pay in Chroma or with other bartering items. I study plants and have begun to craft teas. If you find yourself interested, please arrange with me that I might see some of your other works and determine if your style suits mine desires.

I wish I could draw as well as you need. But I rely on other artists too, love! Why are you hiding, anyroad?
p h o n e t a g s !
[For some reason, Perne finds this slightly amusing. Or she is simply admitting that when it comes to 'art,' she is best with performing ones. Not visual ones.
Regardless, she stiffens a tad when Megumi [rightfully] calls her out.]
'Tis not that I am hiding. Simply that I do not wish to be overbearing with mine... appearance.
[That is a bullshit response, honestly. As if being a moth woman is some kind of travesty. When she does finally grant gaze, it is of black eyes, which to some could very well be unnerving. The kind of thing from scary stories told to children.]
My life until my laptop returns from travel hell...
[ Medical diagrams she can do with far better accuracy but beyond that... well. It's why she pays others! Perne's reply makes her ears wiggle with her giggle though. But she looks more impressed than scared when she sees what her full state is! ]
Eee! Look at you! You look like the dark fairy from the story I gave you!
[ The dark fairy that lived inside the haunted maiden that sang to a shadowy suitor. It was her first take on a more darker romance! ]
Did you like it? Be honest!
no subject
I liked the story.
[There's a long pause and then she continues.] The story, yes. The transformation itself, not so much. It is an annoyance at best and mine most well-liked moments are when it is over.

I'm an artist. I go to university for this and my commissions are always open. Can I know what you want to be painted? I'll show you examples based on that. I've painted a lot of different things since coming here.
[And his subject matter of choice has been pretty dark lately and people complain about it sometimes.]
no subject
I... That is.
[She hesitates.]
I would be the subject. Not... the way that I am now. How I look normally.
[Perne murmurs something else under her breath. It sounds suspiciously like the word 'naked.']
no subject
Did you say naked? So you want a nude piece of yourself. That wouldn't be a problem for me. I can show you a few pieces that I have done although they were during the time that band was here and they may not be the best subject...hm. [Listen, he tried to take advantage of the moment and it didn't work out for him. He has so many of those dumb things still.]
I usually sell what I do. Would showing you some of my other pieces I have on hand and maybe a sketch, suffice?
no subject
Aye. You have the right of it.
[Perne clears her throat.]
I am quite particular about how this piece is to be composed and how it ought to be portrayed. Obviously the currency here is not what you or I would be accustomed to. The cost of this piece is of no consequence to me. I shall make way to present payment however necessary.
[After a moment's pause, she continues. She is a woman who knows what she wants and how she wants it. Although normally diplomatic and at times compromising to a fault, this is one area where she knows she will not budge.]
It would satisfy me to see your works. I would not ask for you to do anything preemptive. Yet if I like what you have done, then I may be stirred to accept your gracious offer in its entirety.
no subject
I can send you pictures of my work but you seem like you would like to see it in person. That shows you have a good eye.
[It's best to see the work close-up after all.]
no subject
You have the right of it, aye.
[She nods.]
I would prefer to see them for mineself. Do you have any on exhibit at all?
no subject
But I do have some finished pieces. I can bring them to you. My place isn't very good for this.
no subject
Her head tips thoughtfully and she takes a moment to idly look around her own abode. It is nothing fancy. It's not as bare as it once was, but it's also not impressive. She supposes it could be worse.]
I suppose if you wish to pay me visit, you may. I do not wish to take too much of your time and I fear I would not have much to offer you in return.
[Tea, perhaps.]
no subject
But really, he's selling himself short and why would somebody want to buy a piece from them if they were apparently, literally, nothing?]
If you can tell me where to see you, I could see you in an hour or so?
no subject
Of course. At your leisure. I had no plans.
[It is good that she has been here long enough to know how to provide him with her apartment residence. She has not moved from where they put new arrivals, finding no reason to do so. At least, not yet. But perhaps she ought to rectify that at some point.]
Thank you for your assistance.
no subject
But by the time he's knocking at her door, it's definitely been over an hour but he can barely make it to his classes most of the time. Soubi isn't punctual at all. When she does open the door, though, she'll be faced with somebody who looks every bit of an eccentric artist. Long blond hair with a long coat with fake fur trim over his solid white tank top, bandages covering all over his neck. He stands out and in all the worst ways.]
I'm sorry I'm late.
no subject
Much.
In greeting him, she cannot help giving him a once over. She doesn't know very many artists particularly well, so she realises she has had no idea of what to expect. Considering her own appearance and behaviour, she... has had her own share of looks.
And likely reputations that she is entirely unaware of. Her Cordis blessing only makes that a bit stranger.
As gracefully as she can manage, she dips her head and steps aside to wave him in with a willowy arm.]
You hardly have need to apologise.
[As she's getting a better look at him and how he's come with them in tow, she cannot disguise her concern with the furrow of her brow.]
Had I known this would trouble you so, certainly we could have come up with a different arrangement, ser.
no subject
Once he's inside, he stands and waits for her to guide him.]
Don't worry about it. They aren't that heavy and I couldn't make you do all the work if you don't even know if you'd like my art at all.
[His customer service skills usually need work but right now, this isn't the worst he could be.]
no subject
[Perne closes the door after he's shown himself inside and she leads him to her sitting room. There isn't a lot in her abode. The simple and essential things. Things that Estinien has gotten for her in an effort to make her stay more comfortable.
At least it doesn't look a sad and sorry state any longer.
She gestures at the spacious layout for him. He can make himself comfortable if it pleases him.]
May I get you anything? I put tea on a little bit ago, if you wish for some.
no subject
[He's already unloaded the art off of his shoulders as he had to sit down, of course.]
I'll wait for you to come back to show it.
Backtagging forever after my hiatus.
[She dips her head politely and at least moves long enough to retrieve for them both a cup each. She brings with her milk. Sugar. Honey. Lemon. Anything he might think he'll need. Everyone seems to take their tea differently, after all.
Perne sets it all down on the endtable closest to him.]
Please, help yourself.
no subject
Either way, he wasn't showing his best manners but he is trying.] I have plenty of time. Don't worry. I'll show you my work now so I don't take up too much of your time.
[Soubi takes his paintings out and luckily for her, they aren't his more depressing ones. One is simply orange lillies falling from the dark to the ground. Another is of butterflies fluttering away, all of different gradients of the rainbow. But the other two are of the band that he had talked about. Just simple poses of the men with a solid colored background. He is skilled at what he does and knows how to paint and well. He wouldn't be getting by so well with commissions if he wasn't.]
This is some of what I have. [He gives her the sketches he brought over. They're nude poses of women which maybe is a bit forward but she did want a nude piece? It's good to show that he knows how to paint them.]
no subject
With her cup in hand, she begins to examine his works. Vibrant. Saturated. The first couple she peers at, any road. They're lovely. He has no way of knowing it, but lilies are her favourite flower. She's stuck on it for some moments in her own kind of appreciation before she moves along, a discerning eye, if anything.]
These are quite lovely.
[He offers her the sketches in question and if it were any other situation, it's entirely possible that she might have turned a few shades of pink. But this is a very important meeting with a very important end goal in mind. Estinien deserves the best, does he not? And she must have the best portray her.
As she examines the details, the posturing, the very lines themselves, her head tips.]
These are, as well. Is this something you do where you come from?
no subject
I'm an art student at university and I've been painting since I was a child. I guess you could say it's one of my passions. [Although he really doesn't have passion for anything but it does sound good when you call it that, huh?]
Flowers are my favorites to paint. [He had noticed how she looked at his pictures of lilies.]
no subject
As he makes mention of flowers, she cannot help but smile subtly. From a distance, it would likely look like nothing at all. But in his presence, it's present enough.]
I study flora of all varieties. [She won't call herself a botanist, though she is in some aspect of the word. It's not a profession. Simply a hobby. A way of passing her time in Eorzea.] These flowers here... [She gestures to the lilies.] They are mine favourite kind. I have never seen an orange one before.
no subject
But they're the same color. We have yellow as well. What colors do you have?
[Small talk is part of the deal, right? This is how you're friendly. Or so he thinks?
Either way, there is an earnest attempt being made here at customer service.]
no subject
miss PERNE?
you want have painting painted? of moon time form for remember when go back home?
no subject
By the Fury. Aye, I wish to have a painting done, but certainly not of mine... Not when I am like this.
no subject
then what of?
no subject
Although I do intend the subject of such a piece to be mineself. It is not for me, but rather for another.
no subject
you can find skilled artist?
no subject
That is mine aim. I was uncertain what sorts of artists we had here. I am not much of one, really, and it would be unfair of me to do anything of mineself even if I had such an ability. It is important that this piece reflect truth and sincerity. And vulnerability, I suppose.
no subject
but LUNATIA is having many artists i am confident! miss PERNE will be able to find suitable person surely.
no subject
[She taps at the bottom of her chin thoughtfully.]
Do you know of any artists yourself, Lady Konoha?
no subject
i know in place before LUNATIA... other captured person draw i 's picture much well... but i no know here, apology.
no subject
When you say...
[There is a long pause before she continues.]
Other captured person... Were you a prisoner in your home world?
no subject
had to do work for witch, and could not leave small area.
no subject
[Her eyebrows knit together. And Perne has been displeased a good deal of this time because she only had to endure this once. It sounds like Konoha has faced this at least twice now.]
So you managed to become free of this witch only to become a prisoner here. Hopefully things here are at least a little better...
no subject
LUNATIA is more good. much less fighting and violence here.

If you're looking for the best painter, then look no farther than my friend, Yusuke Kitagawa.
I can provide a picture he did of myself as proof. However, please note that there is tasteful nudity (covered by silken covers) since it would be bad manners to send it without warning..

[Hopefully she will not Awkward Turtle her way out of this particular situation at the sight of someone she doesn't know.]
