[The video opens on two figures standing outside a circus tent. Grimm is hard to mistake for anyone else, and it should be no surprise to those who know him to see Mike Morton at a circus.]

Greetings to you all, my fellow Moonblessed. We are pleased to announce the opening of the Lacewing Circus as a permanent attraction in Lower Lunatia. We hope that all who have an interest will come to one of our performances, occurring every Saturday and Sunday at five PM.

Ever wanted to see someone defy gravity? Well now you can! Swing on by for acrobatics, trapeze acts, and tightrope walking galore! It’s a scene you wouldn’t want to miss— guaranteed! But don’t just take my word for it. Come see with your own eyes! Just don’t let this momentous occasion pass you by.

[Mike pops up out of the parting bow fast and points at the camera. One last thing:]

…But wait! That’s not all. We’re also taking your applications! So? Don’t be shy. Show us what you’ve got.

A circus! That sounds so fun! I haven't been to one in forever, but I'll be sure to come see what you've got.

[she's very eager and earnest about this, no tricks or games here.]

If you need a promoter, I'd be happy to help you out. I tend to be an attention grabber, [wonder how that is, huh.] so I'll get your stands filled in no time. Or if your ringmaster needs an understudy, I can always be on standby. I don't have any cool skills for your circus, but I can always help run it!

Now, now, being able to command attention is a cool skill all its own.

[Just because you can't walk the trapeze or dance with fire doesn't mean you aren't cool, Milly!]

Really? Thanks. I don't have any experience with working with a circus, but I worked with high schoolers, so that's close enough, right? [a laugh] What's the first thing on the agenda, then? Anything I can help out with right now?

[hagrides]

We should advertise to the Prismals as well. I was thinking perhaps we could design flyers...

[shesgotguts]

Of course! They probably want to see a show just as much as we do. What do you think of red, white, and black for your colours? Lacewing Circus sounds dainty, but it must be full of bold surprises, right? And red is bold... It seems like it would fit!

[hagrides]

Red is my favorite color. [His circus tents at home are all red.] That sounds magnificent.

[shesgotguts]

Give me a couple minutes, and I'll come up with something.

[the feed pauses on a smiling face and a thumbs up. design isn't her speciality by any means, but she'd like to make a good impression regardless. when she comes back, she sends this file.]

You think this looks good? I definitely feel like this will get interest going! It's mysterious, but not too mysterious. [she thinks it suits the ringmaster himself. just a little spooky-kooky-ookyness, but not too scary!]

Absolutely perfect. The insect designs are the perfect touch.

Aren't they? I'm awfully fond of insects now, especially butterflies. I thought they'd have, well, lace wings!

[bug solidarity right here]

Really?! Oh, thank you! I promise, your seats will be filled every night! [wait, isn't there something she's missing.] Oh! I'm Milly Ashford, by the way. I should've said something sooner, but I was just so... eager!

Grimm, typically of the Grimm Troupe, at your service.

[He bows to the camera, as is only polite.]

It is a pleasure to meet you. Which name do you prefer to use? Most where I come from only have the one.

[shesgotguts]

Only one? I have... six. Old nobles and their family lines, just kept stacking them on me! [she laughs, and twirls a piece of hair around a finger.] I usually go by just Milly, though, Mr. Grimm. No need for fancy family names with me!

It's so nice to meet you too. So, tell me, is the Lacewing Circus an import from home, or something brand new no one's ever seen before?

[hagrides]

A brand new creation. I miss my own troupe at home, but it would not do to replace them with a new Grimm Troupe.

[He can add members, but those are his not-family anyway, it's different.]

[shesgotguts]

No, you're right. We can miss the things we had, but we can't really replace them. I'm glad I get to be a part of your new creation, though. I think anyone that's part of this is too. And we're going to make this circus better than anything Lunatia's ever seen before!

[aim for the moon so if you miss... so on and so forth.]

[ An enthusiastic entry warrants an enthusiastic response. Mike smiles brightly at her. ]

Wow, really? Easiest interview I've ever had! [she grins back and him, eyes alight.]

I do! Might take me a couple tries to get it just so, but practice makes perfect, right?

That's right!

[ She made a good first impression on Mike. That matters a lot for what she applied for! There's a little twinkle in his eyes. ]

When are you ready to start? Let's get acquainted, I say. Me with you and you with the circus. How's that sound? It'll be fun!

[ Circus boot camp! ]

You know, I could start right now if you want! No time like the present, right? And if you have a show soon, then we want to get as many people as possible in.

[she gives him a little salute with a laugh.]

Should I be looking for a big top, or something a bit more subdued?

[bombvault]

That's what I like to hear!

[ Mike sends off the coordinates to her ez pz. ]

Right now we've got some prismals helping with some of the left over set up here and there. But you're welcome to swing on by any time you fancy! I'll give you a tour myself.

[ His grin goes lopsided. An all around youthful appearance. ]

Buuut the more attention we grab the bigger it's going to get! That is to say, I'm personally a fan of getting the glitziest big top chroma can afford.

[ NATURALLY. ]

[glitzy, he says? that's enough to get her raring to go. milly is already all in on this project, and she can see the grand lights, the bright stage, the beautiful performers... it's all right there, but it won't happen if the stands aren't filled. and that's her main focus. get the attention and keep it.]

Then I'll see you soon. I'll be an extra hand to move things too. Just so me being there actually has a purpose. [she laughs lightly, and nods.] Ooh, I can hardly wait to see it in person!

[with that, she ends her feed, and heads straight for the circus, her feet barely getting there fast enough. she's been honest this whole time, truly thrilled to be apart of something like this. look, ma, i'm runnin' away with the carnies! once she's there, no matter how big or small the tent really is, she still smiles at it, and lets out a breathy] Wow! This is the real deal!

(lights. camera.) action !

[ Honestly? He's really appreciative of her get-going attitude. But there's just one thing he's forgotten to do before inviting her over and he doesn't realize until after the feed is cut. But it's okay! Because Mike hears the commotion of a new arrival soon enough. The acrobat gains enough momentum to be slide out from behind a tent with his arms already spread wide. A bit of dust gets kicked up with such vigorous enthusiasm. ]

Welcome Miss-! I never actually asked for your name! Oh- I haven't even introduced myself. Hah!

[ Mike certainly looks the part with his tri-colored body suit and frilled collar. It's a real old time-y circus get up for anyone familiar with that sort of thing. With a broad grin Mike bounces to a stop a few feet away and sweeps into a bow just for her. ]

Name's Mike Morton! Once an acrobat of acclaim from the Hullabaloo. Now starring at Lacewing Circus! Pleased to meet you.

[shesgotguts]

[whoa. he's also the real deal. she can't believe her good fortune to be meeting such interesting and eclectic people all because of this circus. she looks quite out of place, more spectator than anything else, but that will change soon enough. she's got to grab the people's attention, after all!]

Mr. Morton, it really is nice to meet you! [and with a ligh laugh, she gives him a curtsy, eyes alight as she watches him.] I'm Milly Ashford. So you and Mr. Grimm dreamed this all up, huh? It seems like anything is possible here in Lunatia!

[bombvault]

[ Look at that curtsy in return! She's off to a great start. He's getting a good look at how she carries herself in person. Very important considering the job she wants to take up. But one wouldn't necessarily know it with how excitable the acrobat looks and the way he's absolutely beaming at Milly. ]

That's right! But a lot of things are when you aim for the moon! If nothing else you'll land amongst the stars.

[ He winks at her because he's a star, it's him. Then he giggles a bit at his own joke. ]

But enough of that. I've got questions for you Miss Ashford!

[shesgotguts]

[his joy is infectious, and she laughs right along with him. he's got such a charming presence, and one she can hardly look away from. but she supposes that makes him perfect for a show like this; the audience is going to adore him, she's certain of it.

smoothing out her skirt, milly stands up straight at the mention of questions, an eyebrow cocked. of course he would be curious about her. she took the job without even knowing his name, after all. she'd be suspicious of a person like that too. but first—] Oh! Please, call me Milly. Miss Ashford is- [blegh. and she sticks out her tongue just a little to get the point across.] But fire away! I'll answer anything you ask! [that's a dangerous game to play, but they're both professionals, right?]

[bombvault]

[Oh, how endearingly candid. Her blep gets a light chuckle out of him.]

Alright, then that's that! Miss Milly it is! In that case you should call me Mike.

[Mike squares out his shoulders, arms akimbo. In a way mirroring the way she has straightened up by looking about as imposing as he is capable of... Just so he can throw this curve ball—]

How well can you project your voice?

[she nods with a grin, then gives him a little salute.] Mike, got it! I can't believe I'm on a first name basis with my boss already.

[he does look like the boss for a moment, but his question is easy, and she gives him a thumbs up.] Well, try this on for size! [she walks away from him, adding space between them until she's a decent amount away. and with a deep breath—] Come one, come all, to the LACEWING CIRCUS! See your dreams take form, and your fantasies take flight! [she's. pretty loud... sounds like she's had loads of practice speaking before crowds before. she jogs back over to him, giving him a little bow.] So, did I pass my first test?
