I understand that there are some among us who have died back in whatever world they may have come from.

As a point of morbid curiosity, what are we supposing happens to those like that when they're removed from this world? Do they simply cease to exist?

I think I did. Once. But I was alive again, back home.

There's a chance I might still be dead, though. Hit with the brunt of a rocket launcher blast; closed my eyes and was here.
Been told by friends I'm alive in the future, but I want to be prepared for the worst.
I guess we would just not exist in that case? Depending on what happens. I imagine some worlds with magic might be different?

I can't speak for anyone else from my world, I'm the only one from there that is here after all.

But I guess you could say I'm a special case, since my death isn't what one would call normal.

I was a living human once, but this 'me' who was summoned in my world is a little more like a copy than the original Nakajima Atsushi, so it's not exactly the typical situation...

I suppose it depends on if you believe in an afterlife?

Well, I no longer exist. As in I do not have a living form to use to interact with the world, so there was no body or any such thing one would expect from someone dying.

You have my sympathy. That sounds like a particularly terrible thing to come here in the middle of; I find it difficult to see how it wouldn't occupy one's thoughts.

What happened during the one time you believe you died? Assuming that's a separate incident.

That's true. Personally, I don't know that I do.

You wouldn't know one way or another in your case, though, would you?

I wouldn't. It would make me happy if my original was in some kind of heaven, but there's no way I can think of to find out.

So not existing at all, in the purest sense of the term.

No afterlife for you, either, I assume.

Well... Unless one considers the afterlife like being stuck among a bunch of old fogeys who can't make any solid decisions without all of them agreeing on it.

But yes, no afterlife for me if I end up leaving this place.

I don't think I would deserve heaven myself, and we have no confirmation that it exists besides. We do have ghosts, however, if that counts as something beyond death.

Different entities entirely. Most don't retain memories of whomever they were before, though some seem to. The ones that do are invariably upset about it. I can't say I blame them.

Do they usually form from people with sudden deaths...?

From my experience, the worse the death, the more it leaves lingering effects on a spirit.

I don't think there's anything for me, either. Though my critical existence failure was slightly less complete than yours seems to have been.

That's unfortunate. And I would hope no one has anything like my experience, it wasn't what you'd call "fun" after all.
