I understand that there are some among us who have died back in whatever world they may have come from.

As a point of morbid curiosity, what are we supposing happens to those like that when they're removed from this world? Do they simply cease to exist?

I can't speak for anyone else from my world, I'm the only one from there that is here after all.

But I guess you could say I'm a special case, since my death isn't what one would call normal.

I think I did. Once. But I was alive again, back home.

There's a chance I might still be dead, though. Hit with the brunt of a rocket launcher blast; closed my eyes and was here.
Been told by friends I'm alive in the future, but I want to be prepared for the worst.
I guess we would just not exist in that case? Depending on what happens. I imagine some worlds with magic might be different?

You have my sympathy. That sounds like a particularly terrible thing to come here in the middle of; I find it difficult to see how it wouldn't occupy one's thoughts.

What happened during the one time you believe you died? Assuming that's a separate incident.

I appreciate that. But like I said, I'm lucky to have people from my world that have told me how things turn out. For me, it's just the eagerness to get through everything.

I don't recall. Everything went dark before I even felt everything.
It's hard to say what happened, but I have an inkling.

I was a living human once, but this 'me' who was summoned in my world is a little more like a copy than the original Nakajima Atsushi, so it's not exactly the typical situation...

I suppose it depends on if you believe in an afterlife?

I wouldn't. It would make me happy if my original was in some kind of heaven, but there's no way I can think of to find out.

You know, it's said that some people die and don't even know it. Maybe we're all dead. I've watched a lot of people die right in front of me, right before my eyes. If they, or we, go "back" then I'm guessing we go back to nothing and it's death all over again.

Did that sate your curiosity?

I'm sure they will. At the same time, it seems more than somewhat pointless to me for this world to bother circumventing all of that for the sole purpose of dragging people here.

If it were me, I'd just go on as rogue data, aimless until I found a new body to inhabit.

I guess for humans, it must be different.

I think that depends on what version of the afterlife they subscribe to. I wouldn't be surprised if at least some humans believed something similar would happen to them; I've spoken to enough that seem to think they're exempt from dying at all, given how they conduct themselves, so it's hardly out of the question.

For others, it is probable they have nothing to return to.

I don't know whether they do or not, in my world. Some continue to exist, that much has been proven, but we have no reason to believe that they're the majority.
