I understand that there are some among us who have died back in whatever world they may have come from.
As a point of morbid curiosity, what are we supposing happens to those like that when they're removed from this world? Do they simply cease to exist?

In my case, yes. I will cease to exist as I am.

But I guess you could say I'm a special case, since my death isn't what one would call normal.

There's a chance I might still be dead, though. Hit with the brunt of a rocket launcher blast; closed my eyes and was here.
Been told by friends I'm alive in the future, but I want to be prepared for the worst.
I guess we would just not exist in that case? Depending on what happens. I imagine some worlds with magic might be different?

What happened during the one time you believe you died? Assuming that's a separate incident.

I don't recall. Everything went dark before I even felt everything.
It's hard to say what happened, but I have an inkling.
[ "Rebirth"? Something like that. She doesn't want to think of all the viral bullshit, especially since it always leads her thoughts toward a certain someone. ]
I take it you're asking these things for a personal reason.

I suppose it depends on if you believe in an afterlife?

You wouldn't know one way or another in your case, though, would you?

I asked something similar a while ago
About people who died before coming here
You go back to the way you were, they said
Like you were never here at all

It isn't ideal, and it wouldn't be what I want. But there are far worse things.

If it were me, I'd just go on as rogue data, aimless until I found a new body to inhabit.
I guess for humans, it must be different.
