Footloose and Knight Rider. Yeah, I know it. I was like three in 1980 exactly, but they were released in uh... '84 and '82 respectively so I still saw them.

[Later than he would have liked because it was insanely difficult to get subtitled or Spanish dubbed VHS for him back then, but he did a lot of catching up on cinema in his teenage years as well.]

i think you're talking about footloose and knight rider? i know footloose had a lot of dancing in it, so maybe try flashdance? i know that movie was another pretty iconic dance movie of that decade at least.

as far as something similar to knight rider... that was an action tv series. so i'd say something like macguyver, perhaps? i'm not super familiar with that show, but i saw a couple of reruns. it's about some kind of government agent who seemed like he could do basically anything.

flashdance does, yes! there's quite a few songs that were made famous by that movie, really. at least on earth.

but as far as macguyver goes, not really? it was more that he kind of made things out of ridiculous household things. if you're looking for tv series that involves machines, that's a little more tricky. i can't really think of anything that had anything as prominent as a talking car.

i can't say i know what planet you come from, but does yours have things like movies and tv shows? i can't speak for your friend, but i think i'd be interested in consuming things from other worlds, if yours has something similar.

No, he just likes the person in the car show, I think, not necessarily the magical talking aspect of it.

oh, david hasselhoff? the only other big thing i know he was in was baywatch, but i'm not actually sure if that was an 80s or 90s show... but that one's a little different. it's a show focused on lifeguards, so it's probably not as action focused, if i had to guess. i never watched much of that one, though.
