[ The video comes to live with a start as if the camera had been dropped. And sure enough, the image is sideways. It's green enough that it should be easy to tell it's the Greatmoon Groves but instead of the usually small wild animals and livestock, the camera shows a very big smilodon dozing under the shadow of a tree. ]

Well, that didn't work. [ A voice is heard before Peter picks up the camera he dropped by accident. He doesn't seem to realize that this time he's making a live feed rather than a video only for himself. ] Ok, let's see...third time the charm, uh? Or...seventh, in this case.

[ The man has a bruise in his right shoulder from an unfortunate landing, his hair is mussed and he isn't wearing a shirt, so smaller marks on his chest are also visible. The reason for the missing clothes is the pair of giant, red Eastern Screech owl's wings protruding from his back. After rolling his shoulders, Peter unfurls the wings and flaps them a couple of times, the sound waking up the smilodon behind him. The beast stretches and yawns, showing up the giant fangs before giving Peter his full attention. Peter manages to fly a few meters up the ground without falling on his face again...Only to be suddenly tackled down to the ground by the tiger and let out a screech. ]

No! Down, boy. Freddie, stooop. [ Maybe training his new familiar and attempting to use his new moonblessings at the same time wasn't the best idea. Chest on the ground and a heavyweight on his back, Peter looks over his shoulder to glare at the big tiger lying on him. And then he keeps turning his head far more than any human being should be able to do without breaking their necks. It's close to 200º. ] Come on, we talked about this.

[ The guardian sounds like a stern father scolding a misbehaving child rather than someone dealing with a prehistoric tiger the size of a small car. The tiger harrumphs but after a beat, he moves off of Peter's back. The man sits on the ground, neck facing forward into a normal position again. There's a bunch of feathers on Freddie's mouth before he drops them and licks his master's face with a big, raspy tongue. Peter lets out an indignant yelp, the feathers fluffing up behind him. ]

Oh gods, it's like sandpaper... [ With a resigned sigh and a small smile, Peter pets the beast's head and scratches his ears. ] It's ok, I'm not mad. But so much for learning how to fly...

[Well, it was soft and fuzzy, and yes, tugging it did provoke some rather nice reactions from Peter. Both of a more intimate nature and a mock reprimand.]

Perhaps some more practice before you attempt anything with me.

[But she does look at the feed toward the creature. Riding it isn't exactly on her list of tasks to accomplish.]

Does he enjoy being confined within it?

[ Fear not, for the wings might offer her interesting reactions too if she touches her the right way, Specially at the base that connects with his back. The feathers are also very fluffy, she should run her fingers through them. ]

That is not a bad idea. I was going to practice for a few hours but someone thought I was a tasty snack.

[ Freddie looks up at the camera, getting really close and sniffing it before he licks it. ]

He doesn't seem bothered by it, that much I know. I think for him it might be like going to sleep. Honestly, I don't know for sure.

[If he thought her horns were bad... Although hers are a bit harder and more prone to accidentally stabbing. Maybe move some of the various items around the apartment.]

I seem to recall feline creatures enjoying birds.

[So, prey now, Peter?]

I suppose he would attack if he didn't like it.

[ If he's lucky, next month he will go back to having a tail. It will be much more practical. ]l.

Going by the new neck trick, I'd say I got owl traits. Those are raptors, not a lot of other species hunts them. Freddie is just being playful. And kind of an asshole.

[ Isn't he always? ]

Yeah. Do you mind if I keep it?

Oh come on, he will be an angel. Would this face cause any trouble?

[ Peter squishes the smilodon's cheeks and the big beast actually allows it giving only a slightly disgruntled rumbling in protests. ]

Besides I'm pretty sure familiar are like spirits, they don't need to eat so they don't need to be taken out for walks.

[Less then five minutes ago, Peter.]

It's a big cat who saw a big birds, little accidents happen. [ He won't do it again. Peter hopes so. ]

Splendid! Next time a dragon or some other weird creature tries to get into out flat we can use him as pest control.

Nooo, why would you say that. [ Peter's wings drop. ] Now you jinxed us.

Next time it's going to be spiders or some shit.

Then we get rid of the spiders.

Did you miss the size of the wasps a few weeks ago, Gamora? I don't want to think about giant spiders.

[ Peter looks down at the smilodon, squishing the beast's cheeks. ] You can eat those right? Oh, no they might be poisonous...but crushing them with your paws should be viable. You've got pretty big ones.

[ Freddie makes a 'mrrrowwwggrrr' kind of sound in return and eyes the camera briefly, as if he's questioning if his new master is losing his marbles. Yeah, he can step on spiders, no problem. ]

Perhaps I should leave you two alone...?

[ Peter's attention snaps to the camera and his feather get al ruffled. ]

Of you could come over and meet our new friend in person.
