What is a 'hell'?

Where the souls of the damned go to burn for eternity or something. You know, the kind of thing where they tell you if you do bad things to people, you writhe in torment forever after you die. Not an expert, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be on fire.

Such a thing does not exist in my world. The flames I was speaking of are something more like imprints of emotion, left in dead lands by those who once lived there and have passed.

Like...echoes. Or memories.

Those turn to fire where you're from?

Indeed. And my duty is to cleanse them.

Guess it makes sense to get rid of them if they're literally fire. Still...I think it's kind of sad.

I am afraid it must be done. Their presence taints the land and prevents it from being reborn.

The world goes on, and those people who died hurting and betrayed are forgotten even by the land they lived on.

It is better that way. Too many kingdoms stand as monuments to death and sorrow, pain frozen in time, eternal.

You're probably right. It's just a lonely way to go.

Know at least that the line of Grimm will remember them.

Indeed. My child will take over for me soon after our return to our world. I have no doubt that they will perform wonderfully.

Not at all. They receive pettings more than they already did, and are very happy about it.

Indeed! Their schedule is terribly booked for playdates.

Popularity's tough. Bet they're glad they've got family around to ease the burden.

I do my best, though I am not nearly as cute as my child, of course.

Pretty common sentiment among parents, I'd assume. Of course, no one's kid could possibly be as cute as theirs.
