Hey. My name's Rude. I'm looking for work.
[ It might have taken a couple of beers to muster the courage to post to the network, if the level 3 bar scene behind him is any indication. There's the steam and hiss of frying noodles, the glow of signs advertising other brands of alcohol, and a low murmur of general conversation. The bar he walked into might not be inside the red light district proper, but you wouldn't have to walk far to reach it.
What can he say? It feels a lot more like home. ]
Got a few practical skills. I can fix things. Move things. Done a lot of work guarding things. And people.
[ God, this is hard. How do you sell yourself without revealing that you worked for the evil megacorp? How do you even talk to a camera without hating every moment of it? He pauses to swig a mouthful of beer. ]
...doesn't have to be permanent. One-offs are fine, if someone needs help with something quick. I can, uh...generate chroma too. If needed. [ He pauses, searching for words. ] Oh - I can operate a helicopter too, if that's useful.
...again, it's Rude. [ Another pause, another drink. ] And before you ask, yeah. I've heard the joke before.

What's the joke?
[ Sorry, she wants to know. ]

Someone asks my name, and I say "Rude" or "I'm Rude". Then they say "Oh, sorry, I thought I was being polite."
...it's not very funny.
no subject
[ Can you hear the disappointment in her tone? At first, the joke doesn't seem to register, and it shows in the confusion on her face. But then it clicks, and just... ah. . . ]
A lot of people make that joke?
no subject
[ And everyone thinks they're the first, too. He's so glad you understand, Weiss. ]
Figured I should counter it before it happened.
no subject
[ Wait, that actually gets her to giggle. She covers her mouth with her hand as she lets out a soft "teehee". ]
That even works as a pick-up line!
no subject
[ In fact, he'll test it out. Rude straightens on his bar stool, nerves briefly cracking that stony face, and delivers it. ]
I'm Rude. You're fine...
[ ...wait. What's her name? His attention flicks up at the username bar. ]
Angel.

I'm pretty sure that would work on at least one person in this place.
no subject
[ Sure seemed to be working on her. Rude allows himself a small sniff of amusement, then a slow drink. ]
I think you're the first who's tried to improve the line instead of just saying it.
no subject
[ Glad to be of service! ]
no subject
[ Just casually flirting on Cloud's girlfriend. No big deal. ]
Don't suppose you've got any leads on jobs...or just better lines.
no subject
Hmm... [ She actually starts humming in thought now, even putting a hand on her chin as she thinks. A suggestion for work is out of the question— Weiss sucks that giving suggestions there, but!! Better lines? She thinks she can give him some more tips there!
(No.) ]
Oh, how about... you look at the person in the eye, and then you bring down your glasses a bit, then say— "Oh, I thought something was wrong with my eyes, because I can't take them off you."
no subject
[ He presses a gloved hand to his face, massaging the bridge of his nose. The motion pushes up his glasses, revealing his eyes scrunched shut.
It's terrible. ]
That's...an option.
no subject
[ She's a little hurt. She thought it was a good line?! ]
no subject
[ He might do the whole tall, dark and handsome bit, but his terrible secret...he's a total dork. ]
no subject
[ ... Wait, okay— ]
Nevermind. I don't think I could ever say anything like that seriously, either.
no subject
Lot more creativity than me.

What do you do for work here?
no subject
[ A lot. ]
no subject
[ A briefly confused expression crossed his face. ]
You look a little too...glamorous for that - no offence.
no subject
[ Please tell her, Rude. ]
no subject
[ God, he's making it awkward. Sorry, Weiss, there are no FF7 men who can communciate properly. ]
Just assumed they'd all be bigger. Not the elegant princess type.
no subject
Then you should learn not to judge a book by its cover. I bet I could guard more things than you.
[ WEISS NO ]
no subject
[ He sets the device down, leans back on his stool, and folds his arms. ]
What have you done so far?
no subject
[ She'll list them down in order for you, Rude. ]
