Hey. My name's Rude. I'm looking for work.
[ It might have taken a couple of beers to muster the courage to post to the network, if the level 3 bar scene behind him is any indication. There's the steam and hiss of frying noodles, the glow of signs advertising other brands of alcohol, and a low murmur of general conversation. The bar he walked into might not be inside the red light district proper, but you wouldn't have to walk far to reach it.
What can he say? It feels a lot more like home. ]
Got a few practical skills. I can fix things. Move things. Done a lot of work guarding things. And people.
[ God, this is hard. How do you sell yourself without revealing that you worked for the evil megacorp? How do you even talk to a camera without hating every moment of it? He pauses to swig a mouthful of beer. ]
...doesn't have to be permanent. One-offs are fine, if someone needs help with something quick. I can, uh...generate chroma too. If needed. [ He pauses, searching for words. ] Oh - I can operate a helicopter too, if that's useful.
...again, it's Rude. [ Another pause, another drink. ] And before you ask, yeah. I've heard the joke before.

[ That is not the reaction he'd expected to get from her at all. To him, the last thing he'd caused in her life was unimaginable anguish: crushing her workplace and a great deal of her life, then going right on to try and repel their attack on the Shinra building. Instead of anger or grief, as he'd expected...
Smiling. Smiling at him in bed, no less. ]
...a couple of weeks ago.

At least until someone gets on the network.]
A few weeks, huh. Sorry I missed you. I hope Rufus at least fulfilled his welcome wagon duties and explained everything to you.
[And as great as catching up will be, she's not going to ignore the reason for his post.]
If you still need some work I can probably put in a good word for you at the club I work at. If you don't mind bouncer work. It's not actually as exciting as being a bodyguard.

[ Rude hadn't exactly been trying to draw attention to himself. It was a bad idea, when you didn't have the full weight of Shinra behind you. Going along in relative anonymity, save for Cloud and Rufus being here, had been kind of nice.
Oops. ]
Less exciting might be good. I'll, uh...look into it. [ Oh wait. ] Which club?

[A visit would probably be a good way for him to see if it's an environment he wouldn't mind working in.]
I tend the bar there most evenings if you want to come in for a drink.

Things must have really changed in between his time and hers. Rude cleared his throat quietly and gave a small, curt nod. ]
All right. I'll stop by.

So she really doesn't think much about his short reply. She's gotten the answer she wanted if her replying grin is anything to go by.]
Good. Then I hope to see you soon, okay? And good luck with the job search.

[ She can't possibly sense the conflict going on inside. This must be a long time in the past for her. She looks older, just a little. Calmer. They can't be from the same time.
He shuts off the camera with a short nod and thinks about it a while. It's probably not a trap. Shinra hadn't warned him that Avalanche were out for blood. As unbelievable as it felt for him, she could actually just be genuinely friendly. Towards him.
He considers whether he should actually go or not for quite some time. ]
