Video 001 | Lancer of Black

[Now that the nasty business of Moonblessings and transformations are done, Lancer's ready to talk more publicly. So he appears on video to ask this question rather than texting this evening. The pale, dark eyed man greets the camera with a glass of dark red wine and a desire for distractions.]

This place, or the moons above, seem hell bent on drawing out compulsions we never even had.

[Not going to think on that too hard. Lancer just finishes the glass of red wine he's holding.]

Please humor me if you are not from this world and tell me what you used to indulge in back home. Are you still drawn to it here? Can it even be found here?

Do the moons increase that for you or has it all changed now?

[A lot of questions but he really doesn't plan to investigate this too much. He just wants to hear what other people do for fun.]

As far as hobbies go, those are both constructive and worthwile. Are you allowed more time with them because you are free of responsibilities here?

Sort of. I work for the Lunar Scientia here. It's a lot less work than my job at home though.

It seems fate has smiled upon you. Do you enjoy your job here?

It's not bad at all. I'm still pretty at a pretty low level so I don't know a lot about the science here just yet but I'm advancing alright.

Do you have a job or are you still getting used to being here?

Not... as such.

[In that he still hasn't settled on one. Not needing actual accommodations helps a little but it still leaves him in the lurch.]

I have been told of things that may be tolerable but until then I shall make due.

[Vague way of saying he's going to wait out until opportunity arises.]

That's fair. You definitely have time to make a choice in however you want to live while you're here anyhow. You get more Chroma from moonlacing than most jobs after all.

I suppose that is true though I am not used to seeking employment.

[He has a role to fulfill, usually. Here not so much.]

Do you sustain yourself simply through work and hobbies or do you seek out Moonlacing often as well?

Oh yeah? Independently wealthy then?

[Her tone makes it sound like a light joke.]

Mostly work. I don't mind moonlacing but it's not really something I've got steady partners for or anything like that.

[He lets it lie at that. Hard to go over all the details in such short notice.]

If you enjoy your work I suppose that is not a bad path to take. As for the moons, do they interfere with your goals?

[Ho boy, does it ever interfere.]

Sometimes. It definitely can make it hard to concentrate on work anyhow.

[It takes him a moment to consider things. He came into this for distraction but has been getting to some very clear points.]

Do you find such interference enjoyable or frustrating, if you do not mind me asking?

[An instant, flat reply.]

[Everyone is finding the sex part the weirdest part. To him it is something completely different. He responds in turn.]

I agree.

[When your wish is to erase Dracula the vampire from existence, having to deal with blood lust twice a month is an unbearable insult.]

I'm sorry to hear that then. I'm just not the kind of person who dates a lot so...

[She pauses a moment, waving a hand.]

Not that you have to necessarily date anyone when it comes to sex or anything like that but--

Ah, you mean the more carnal distractions the moons seem to compel.

[Well, those could be a problem too he supposes. Not like a Servant dates.]

But you need to satisfy them none the less. I suppose it shouldn't be that hard for you to find partners.

[Eva makes an amused noise. There's lightness to her tone.]

Oh yeah, I'm just drowning in men.

If you so desire, this does seem to be the right world for it.

[Already having too many talks with too many people who are all in on that method of gaining Chroma.

It idly makes him wonder how the other Servants are managing.]

That's true. For anyone who's really into that, this has got to be an ideal place.

I suppose capability wasn't considered when they summoned us here, then. Some found fortune in this arrangement and the rest of us find annoyances.

I don't imagine they got much of a choice in who ended up here and who didn't. The scientists were just as surprised as we were when we first arrived.

I suppose I should not hold out hope that maybe someone did have a hand in these choices. Assuming it was just chance that played a role is fitting though I suppose.

[When you have D Ranked luck, that sort of thing becomes expected.]

A lot about life is chance. This being another part of that doesn't really shock me.

I prefer to not leave things up to chance if I can help it. Sadly the times I can are few and far between.
