[Now that the nasty business of Moonblessings and transformations are done, Lancer's ready to talk more publicly. So he appears on video to ask this question rather than texting this evening. The pale, dark eyed man greets the camera with a glass of dark red wine and a desire for distractions.]

This place, or the moons above, seem hell bent on drawing out compulsions we never even had.

[Not going to think on that too hard. Lancer just finishes the glass of red wine he's holding.]

Please humor me if you are not from this world and tell me what you used to indulge in back home. Are you still drawn to it here? Can it even be found here?

Do the moons increase that for you or has it all changed now?

[A lot of questions but he really doesn't plan to investigate this too much. He just wants to hear what other people do for fun.]

Oh, no, I... I do it so they're not alone and hurting. Like Iris' heat can be unbearable and make you want to climb the walls with desperation. I have Cordis and other Iris companions - I do it with them if they want. They seem to like it. I like it. I've liked playing around with new people, too. I'm... I dunno. I feel free. Like a part of my life I could never live is being offered to me.

As for my partner, I would be with him no matter what. He's a Sanguis though, so we work well together on that front, too: he's dominant and horny, and I'm submissive and like to please.

I have to deal with how conflicted I feel about that every day. I have a daughter back home and a life I finally get to live. I'm doing things for the future. I'm trying to overcome grief and open myself up again.

But here I... I get to have what I really wanted. And the hurt goes away every month. Sort of, anyway. That kind of freedom is gonna take a lot of therapy. I may never be that way naturally.

I know little enough about this world to say what is right at that point. Come to your own truths and find your own way.

If you feel this path is right, then take it.

[Meanwhile Lancer is going to fight this tooth and nail. Not over the same issues Otacon is fighting, but over some others too close to home.]

uhhh I have a bunch of them saved on my phone and I just did some fiddling to get them into the network app. Like macros.
Check your keyboard options on your device. There's an emoji and smiley selection. Some of them are in there!

Not at all. It is more I wanted to see what was out there and who out there shares my tastes. It seems those are few and far between.

As for the moons, I am just curious if they show bias or if I am just attributing malice where there is just bad luck.

I don't think the moons can have malice as you're personifying an inanimate object. But... I notice a lot of Moonblessed are usually pretty attractive. So if they want us to, uh.... y'know... then they really pick and choose.

I suppose many are in a conventional sense. Yet they turn us into hideous creatures twice a month.

I haven't seen anyone hideous yet. Just different. Fluffy and horned.

I appear to be a chimerical creature during the chosen moon phase and it appears far from fluffy.

Oh? My partner's like that during Sanguis -- he's a wolf-snake thing. Dragon, most recently. But usually a mix. It's kinda neat.
