I know there used to be a port used for freight, but has been out of use following an enemy attack. So, out of curiosity how many of you are sailors?

[A pause as she thinks for a moment before continuing.]

To add to the question, how many of you have explored this world's seas and what could you tell me of what's outside the city. I've been meaning to travel this world's oceans but have also been told that traveling too far from the city tends to drain Chroma as you move away from it.

[Being on dry land has made her feel a bit antsy at not having to put out to sea for a good long while. Not that she had any problem living on land. More that she was a ship first and foremost. To be away from the salty water simply didn't feel right to her. She wanted to feel the breeze and ocean spray against her and listen to roar and crash of the waves as she passed through the water or flew high above.]

For those who are not sailors and have never been aboard a vessel...would any of you like to be?

[The last part was more or less an after thought. Enty hadn't really been thinking anyone here would actually have any interest in sailing; let alone the ocean. In either case she was in a good mood, if not somewhat bored (she might blame it on being bored).]

That's excellent, sailing by tack and sheet alone takes quite a bit skill to achieve. [So says the ship powered by steam turbines and shoots planes using a bow.]

Mm, sailing helps to fight against the unknown and brings it into light.

Hey, now. [ Okay, okay. So maybe he's a little insulted and he's pouting oh-so-slightly. ] Without those tack and sheet ships, the sailing advancements we know today wouldn't have been possible.

I can't say I'd prefer them today if I had a choice, though. The comforts of modern sailing technology really are amazing!

Hm? I didn't say anything against. But yes, more modern vessels are quite amazing in their own right. I was interested in looking at this world's ships as well.

I think the recent floodings have everyone on edge, so sailing's a hot topic right now. [ Not that he minds. It gives him a reason to keep checking Prismagram. ] But it sounds like you're asking out of genuine interest.

[To be honest all she's really been hearing about recently had been music and generating Chroma. Both of which are fine topics, but she was quite interested in the world beyond the city. To see if she could find anything of interest.]

It would make sense that the flood has caused many to be anxious about the water.

[Cue thoughts of her sisters sinking into the cold, ocean depths.]

But yes, I had been planning on going alone. However, that seems to be ill advised, at least for distant trips.

I can see why.

At least when bad things happen in Lunatia, you know where to go for help. But the further away you go, the more on your own you are.

I suppose that's not much different from sailing anywhere else, though. Still, even early navigators had a crew to rely on. It was rare that they went entirely on their own.

Well of course, a navigator cannot run a ship all by themselves. Even modern ships require many hands in order to properly perform their tasks.

But you were still planning to go all by yourself. That's pretty ambitious. I have to wonder how in the world you were going to pull it off.

I was simply going to float out by myself. But evidently it may not be quite that easy of a thing to accomplish here.

For the moment I suppose I'll gauge what the interests of others are and save up for a ship.

What do you mean by, "the interests of others?" Are you looking for a crew for this potential ship?

Of course, as well as others who might have some skill in running a business and engineering.

[May as well make a business out of it while she was at it.]

I ran a few trading ports back in the day. I'd say that qualifies me to join your crew and help run your business, wouldn't you?

A place I heard about called Port Sylvel, just outside of Lunatia.

Mm, just take care. Being that it's in ruins it is most likely not all too safe a place.

That's true. Ruins have all kinds of structural risks even if there aren't any enemies lurking around the corner. I guess I'll need some company...
