Hello, this is Dr. Daniel Dickens from the Second Nature Clinic. For those who are new here, I work as a therapist there, so if there is anyone in need of treatment and have been unable to find what you're looking for at the hospital, you're welcome to find me there and I'll see what I can do to help.

However, I didn't come here just to make an advertisement: there's something I haven't had happen before during one of these cycles, despite being here for... almost a year, apparently.

[Shy of two months, wow. Time flies.]

So I had some questions for people who have experienced this particular sort of trait for the Iris cycle, regarding... well. The one that involves having tentacles like an octopus.

... And before anyone says anything, no, it didn't replace you-know-what like I've seen some people mention on here before. They're somewhere entirely different, and currently preventing me from doing so much as taking a drink without it ending up on my person...or being able to speak at all, actually.

So maybe it's not questions I need answered so much as advice on how to deal with them. And hopefully not suffocate to death at some point before the cycle is over either.

What about one of those paper straws? Those won't melt.

Even if they won't melt, it just seems... odd to drink hot coffee that way. Unless maybe if I drink it cold instead.

Drink it cold. It's not that big of a problem if you'd rather whine about a straw than deal with your tentacle problem.

Guess you could tie them up or cut them off if you aren't into easy solves lol

I'm just saying--a straw is fine for any other drink, it's just hot coffee that seems a little weird.

... Tying them up or cutting them off I haven't tried yet, though.

It would definitely scar if you did that. Mayyybe try tying them up 1st.

Having them at all is weirder in general.

[He really should have introduced himself in this post with "hi, I'm Doctor Danny, and I don't take my own advice when telling patients to take care of themselves and would in fact consider removing my own limbs if need be"]

Hey what do shrinks help with anyway? Like can you make nightmares go away or??

Yes, that is something that we can help with. We can find a way to identify what is causing the nightmares, and then try different therapeutic methods to reduce if not erase them altogether.

[ She's pretty sure she knows what's causing the nightmares. Or rather, she has a lot of different reasons, so he could probably take his pick.

Either way, she knows there's more than that that she struggles with. She doesn't know about therapy at all, but it's not like she's got other options. Nightmares and anger issues and a constant fear of being left behind because she isn't earning her keep are a few things she'd like to address. Nightmares are the only ones she's willing to talk about yet though. ]

Is it expensive?

Not at all. The clinic is a volunteer service, so we don't really charge much of anything for people to come and seek treatment here.

[It's a "pay however much you want/are capable of giving if you want" type of service.]

I have to ask, this place has weird ideas of things sometimes.
