[Hey, fellow Moonblessed. It's a man insisting on wearing his Victorian-era clothes and hanging out on a rooftop. You know, like you do]
Right. I suppose with these two cities as large as they are, I have to go about things this way. I was waiting for someone but I don't know if they're here any longer. [He'll find out through this message, anyway]
But on to business. I'm going to be in need of a chemist and someone with an inventor's mind. If you're someone who can do both, all the better. It isn't urgent just yet but I'd rather meet such a person sooner rather than later. Also, how would I go about getting a motor cycle?

I'll ask her, then. [A beat] I'm Jacob.

Or, y'know. Wear a helmet.]
Carlos. So where are you from then, besides 1868?
no subject
A pleasure, Carlos. My sister and I were in London. I suppose she's still there with her fiancé.

Good luck, my man.]
Oh, neat. I've never been but I bet it was something else back then. I'm from South America originally but I went up to the US a few years ago.

I only know a little bit about America. I imagine it's a lot different in your time.
no subject
Oh yeah. The city I was originally stationed in was pretty big in it's own right and there are still cities that double or even triple it in size.
no subject
Hm. Well, as I said, I don't know America very well. London feels plenty big enough for me.

[He laughs a bit at himself. His education was not like many other people's.]
The US is huge. I mean, so is South America but I'm pretty sure most of their large cities don't even come close to the biggest in the US.

[And not because he lives in some alternate version of Earth]
I imagine it's gotten more cities since your time. Though I know as little about America as you do England.

Seems foolish to have clothes that are that obvious. Different worlds, I guess.

Your average citizen doesn't have to worry about being attacked just for wearing neon, either.

Well, I was taught to not be noticed in a crowd. Wearing bright colors is odd to me.

I've been thinking lately to wear something a bit more modern. My usual clothing makes me stand out quite a bit around here. I've heard that "sweats" are comfortable.

Sweats are amazing. Super comfortable, especially after a long day, and warm during colder months. Plus you don't have to get them in awful blinding colors. Basic ones usually come in black, blue or gray.
