[Morning of the Twenty-Thirst of June] (Text)

Hey everyone, happy Summer Solstice!

Yeah, I checked, and it turns out this is the longest day of the year here in Lunatia. They, uh, don't seem to celebrate it, though. Kinda strange, back home it was a pretty big deal. There was a big feast, planting seeds and starting gardens... oh, the flower crowns! Everybody got at least one. Some people had trouble wearing all the ones they had.

Also I think stuff with alcohol and... well, that stuff my Dad would have killed me for getting involved with, so nevermind.

Anyway, any of you guys have celebrations like that? And Riku, Sora, we've got to at least get some crowns made before the day's over!

[What Kairi isn't saying is, the Summer Solstice is also her birthday, or at least the day they've celebrated it since she arrived on the islands. But hey, she won't make a big deal out of that, and the only ones who know are her boys.]

Actually, the second idea probably makes more sense. Or they were expecting that I would have told you that, which is kind of funny since I don't think they've told you theirs, have they?

They haven't mentioned their birthdays to me.

... I wonder if it's something we should all bring up at some point? I mean, considering how many of us here there are.

Well you already told me yours is the Winter Solstice, so I'll be passing that on.

Sora's is March 28th, so we've got some time before then. Riku's is the big one anyway though. He's gonna be eighteen!

[A real adult. Crazy to think about.]

We'll have to make sure to do something really special for him then.

When is his birthday?

Wait, seriously? That's a pretty weird coincidence. I guess it'd make a little more sense if they were the same age, but Riku is older than Sora, isn't he?

He'd like to say he's exactly a year older, buuuuuut technically he's a day short!

That sure sounds like him.

... Do they usually have two separate parties, or do they just usually do a combined one?

Combined. They're inseparable anyway, so really it just made the most sense.

Yeah, that really does. It's certainly much easier to just have one big party instead of two of them back to back.

That's basically what their parents thought. Besides, the whole island was so close that the same people would have been at each party anyway.

It's probably just as well mine's a few months out from theirs, though. A combined party for the three of us would be a nightmare to put together!

I can only imagine the chaos something like that would cause.

[Even if there wasn't going to be any extra guests due to how the islands were, that would still be an absolute headache to clean up afterwards. ]

I'm not sure our parents would have ever forgiven us.

[They'd have had to hold it at her Dad's, just for the sheer space, and he's already so busy... having to clean up after a mess like that would have been way more than he could handle, though the others probably would have come by to help.]

But yeah, when March rolls around it'll be Sora's seventeenth and Riku'll finally be totally grown up! Feels kinda weird, honestly.

Even if it does feel a little weird, it's also a bit exciting too, isn't it?

[ Then again, with everything they've all been through, Sora, Kairi, and Riku might already be more mature than most eighteen-year-olds.

... Well, in some ways, anyway. And maybe not Sora.]

It is, yeah. Of course, it also kind of reminds me how little of a plan we all have for our future these days...

I mean I guess we're all gonna be Keyblade Masters, but does that mean moving to the Land of Departure? Setting up a base on the Islands? How would we even do that? There's a lot to think about here.

[ Yeah. All of that was a good question. And Aqua's not entirely sure what the answer should be to that. But at the same time she doesn't want to just not answer the question.]

That's not really something we're able to truly decide right now. Before everything that happened, you three probably would've been expected to move to the Land of Departure, but as it is right now we're... pretty much free to change things however we like. Well, once we get back, anyway.

Would that mean you guys would have to come by to train us, though? I mean, Riku couldn't very well do it all himself.

Not that you wouldn't be welcome, I'm sure everyone would greet you three with open arms. It just seems like kind of a long commute.

Possibly. It'd really depend on what we decided to do. Or how many other people we're training in how to use a keyblade at the time, I guess.

Though if we did decide to do your training on the islands, we'd probably just stay there until it was finished. Assuming that we didn't just complete your training while going around in the other worlds. It's not like Xehanort being defeated means that things he set in motion aren't necessarily still an issue.

[ Though to be fair, with the rate it's taking the government to find a way for them to get home and with the progress Kairi is making with Master Invi, the chances of Kairi not reaching master before they left Prismatica were looking more and more slim.]

Let's see... Me, Sora, Ven, Xion, Roxas, Lea, I guess Terra technically still doesn't have his title yet... That's seven of us for just you, Riku, and King Mickey if we can get him.

Granted, Sora and Terra are almost there already as far as I can tell, so it'd drop to five pretty fast. Then we'd have one pupil for each mentor. Except I'm not sure Riku really feels ready to start teaching anyone.

[Huh. She should ask him about that.]

... Well, that's not all that surprising. I'm pretty sure that I won't fully ready to start teaching anyone for a while either. [ Not that she'd actually have a choice once they get back home. Someone needs to complete Kairi and the other's training, and she doubts Yen Sid is going to do much.

Though thinking about that does bring up a good point... ]

Though in Terra and Sora's case (and probably Ven too once he's ready), I think it's going to have to be Yen Sid's call on if they can become Masters. There's no way I'd be objective enough to make the decision for Terra, and at this point there's no reason for whoever evaluates Terra not doing the same for Sora at the same time.

[That's a little disappointing in Kairi's eyes, but not exactly surprising. From Aqua's perspective, she hasn't exactly been a Master for a long time. Really, the only ones who have are Yen Sid and Mickey.

And Yen Sid's clearly retired for a reason, which only leaves the King. She has to wonder if he'd be available...]

Well, I guess who's teaching who has changed greatly since we got here anyway.

Huh, that's an interesting thought... Terra and Sora, taking the test together.

That's a good point too. You made a lot of progress training under Master Invi, after all. [And the last time Aqua had even seen Kairi really in action had been months ago, so she was probably even stronger now. ]

For all we know, by the time they find a way to send us home you might be ready to take the test alongside them.

If we're stuck here long enough, maybe. We still haven't done anything I would say only Keyblade wielders could accomplish, so if Riku's right about us all being here for a reason, that isn't finished yet.

Maybe I'll end up taking the test from her.

... In all honesty, it seems like that whatever we're here to do doesn't actually need us to be keyblade wielders specifically. Not with how many other people have been brought here, and who continue to be brought here.

As for taking the test from Invi, that's also a possibility if both of you end up feel that you're ready for the test before we return home.

I guess that's a good point to consider. I mean, the obvious suggestion is it's just for the Chroma, but if that were the case wouldn't only people who are totally okay with Moonlacing be brought in?

It all depends on how long we stay here. We'll see what happens, I suppose.
