[Lunatia's resident centaur lady is back on screen, excitedly trying to... set her network device up somewhere where it can actually get all of a rather large frame into the shot. Not that she waits to start talking.]


Greetings, everyone! I didn't realize it's been months since I last used this for "posting"... There's probably so many new people, so, um, very quickly- If you don't know me, my name is Konoha! I'm a jinba... Or a "centaur" if you want! And oh, that's my husband, Gonta... and our friend, Mikuni! Say hello, you two!

[Catching sight of the other jinba behind her pausing in their field work, she moves the camera to show a large palomino fellow (Gonta) who gives a gruff nod and semi-wave, and an elegant ebony-coated gentleman? (Mikuni) who dips into a more proper bow with a little smile.]

We run the Tsurugi Farmstead in the Greatmoon Groves! There was a lot of damage when it flooded before, but thanks to everyone's efforts we're back up and running properly... and we've had our first fall harvest!

So... as a bit of a thank you, and also maybe to celebrate not dealing with those awful nightmares anymore, I thought we could have a hotpot party here by the river? In my village we usually make imoni in the autumn, it's so delicious! It's full of beef and taro root and leeks and konnyaku... Mmm!

[She finally gets the device set up properly and trots back into frame properly, obviously excited by the invitation she's making.]


Cordis is almost over, right? So now seems like a good time before Iris shows up... But if you have a Cordis appetite, don't worry! We'll supply all the imoni... or, the ingredients, anyway, it's more fun if you cook it outside with everyone. We also have fresh sweet potatoes, pumpkin, new rice... oh, and persimmons!

But if you want to share anything, feel free to bring your own dish, too! Let's say... tomorrow? I'll send directions for anyone who hasn't visited before, alright?

[He laughs softly, shifting to just put his face on her back proper for a moment, smiling into the short fur there and turning his head, draping his arms across her back to kind of hug her.]

I'll accept that. But-- you know, apart from that, you actually smell very nice. I hope that isn't strange to say.

[There's a moment when... this feels weirdly familiar. Deja vu, is that what it was called? It feels something like... a pleasant, wonderful dream she'd had a few weeks back.

And it calms her down, even though the blush stays as she reaches back around with her flexible upper spine to lay a hand on his head and ruffle his hair affectionately.]

I do... ?

[There'd been a period in her youth when a village boy had teased her for smelling like a horse, and she'd anxiously rubbed herbs into her coat for months after until her parents convinced her that she was fine the way she was and she ended up accepting that... maybe humans would just think she smelled like an animal.

So. If she looks weirdly happy to hear that...]

[He's a little startled by her reaction, and smiles, nodding and turning his face into her back to draw in a long breath. That, maybe, is a little strange, Tanjiro.]

Mm-hmm, like... Clean, and warm? And a little bit like soil. Not dirt, specifically the kind of soil people use to plant flowers in. [He closes his eyes and stays leaned there a moment, turning his head to look at her again after a while.] ...reminds me of home, actually. Minus the sharpness of pine, or the chill of winter. [Apparently he can be strangely poetic about smells??]

Oh...

[That sounded... Really nice? And actually did sound like a poem. If... If his nose really was that good... She can't help but want to check.]

Not... I don't just smell like a horse?

[zutsuki]

[He scrunches up one side of his face a little, shaking his head.]

Well, of course not! You're not "just a horse", are you? All living things have smells specific to themselves... humans have smells, demons have smells... I assume, the underlying scent I can't quite articulate is what jinba smell like. But it's not like a horse or a human smell.

[lumberlady]

[................ Jinba smell.

Honestly, there's nothing about what he says just now that should make anyone feel much of any sort of way. But in a combination of how high strung embarrassed she'd been feeling over the idea that people might know where she had sex, how worried she'd been that the persimmons might taste sexual, and the sudden defeat of a childhood complex by someone with complete nose authority...]

Oh-

[Konoha is. Crying? Or wait, maybe she's laughing, it's hard to tell, and even she seems a bit confused as to which one it is, reaching up to wipe her suddenly wet eyes with her sleeves.]

That's such a relief- ! No one ever said I smell clean before!

[zutsuki]

[He startles, raising his hands-- even if the left sort of flops uselessly -- and stepping forward to put his good hand on her shoulder, laughing a bit himself.]

Well, I happen to be the leading expert on smells, I think. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you...

[lumberlady]

No, I'm not upset- !

[She's just crying a little while she half laughs. Which, admittedly, is not an uncommon thing for Konoha, she wears her heart far too obviously on her sleeve and she's just gone through a lot of extreme emotions today already...]

I just really wish I could go back to my world and tell that brat Hiroaki that I don't smell like a horse- !

[... Nevermind he was a grown ass man now. Vindication!!!]

[zutsuki]

[He worries, even if he knows tears aren't always an upset. It's one of those One Fear moments.]

[He laughs again when she brings up telling a brat she doesn't smell like a horse, patting her shoulder and drawing back from her again.]

Well, he obviously needs nose-training.

[lumberlady]

[Thankfully, Konoha has a handkerchief, which she pulls from one of her kimono sleeves to dab at her face as the little raincloud burst of tears fades back towards sunny disposition.]

Thanks, Tanjiro...

[But before she can go back to normal again... she curls around to envelop Tanjiro in a loose hug, part greeting and part... very shameful whisper.]

Please don’t mention the persimmon tree to Gonta, okay? He’d die...

[And she only half dies. It’s not that she thinks Tanjiro is likely to, but- Just In Case.]

[Oh, hello, hugs are nice. He startles for a second before raising his arms in favor of looping them around her neck, and-- Well, he cracks up laughing and squeezes her gently.]

I hardly know him well enough to tease him like I do you. But I'll make sure not to mention it.

[lumberlady]

[She'll just. Keep her face right here in his shoulder for a second, okay... It doubles as such a good blush hiding location...

And she just can't help but laugh at the idea of teasing Gonta. Or rather, how Gonta reacted to teasing.]

Ehe... There's probably only two or three people in the world who could get away with teasing him instead of getting kicked... I'm working on it.

[It's a work in progress, but- look at how much softer he is now than a year ago! ... Well, she can notice.]

[He's completely fine with that, both for the chroma and the fact that he just likes hugs, thanks.]

I... can imagine that going poorly for most people, yes.

[She likes hugs, too, so... Don't mind her, Tanjiro is one of her favorite hugging subjects.]

He thinks you're a good worker, though- I know that. So don't worry.

[It can just sometimes be hard to tell who Gonta likes, with how gruff and reticent he tended to be around most people. He was slightly more amiable when working on the farmstead, but still tended to stick with business, so...

Oh! Well that's good, I'm glad I've at least instilled that on him.

[He's so glad to be having a conversation while hugging, honestly. All conversations should be had while hugging. No, really.]

[He also appreciates Konoha's Gonta translations, because he really can't figure the guy-- horse? --out, at all. He doesn't have the greatest people skills, himself, after all.]

I think almost everyone would agree with that one, but- Mm. If Gonta uses words to say something, it definitely means it's true.

[Well, when he wasn't angry. That was different! But considering how tight-lipped the man was on an average day compared to the far more talkative Konoha... she appreciates each word.

Especially when it's praise for people she cares for.

Sadly, she has to let go of Tanjiro eventually, but she still maintains a warm hand on his shoulder as she smiles.]

Can I count on you to help me keep the other visitors in line, Tanjiro? I know I can trust you with imoni, so we have to make sure no one ruins their pot!

[zutsuki]

[He scrunches his face up, grinning but also waving her praise off gently.] If I don't set a good example I'm not much of an older brother, now am I?

[His grin remains when she shifts her focus to the imoni, and he nods.] I've only made imoni a few times, but I'll do my best!!

[lumberlady]

That’s right!

[He really was, wasn’t he? If she’d had a brother like Tanjiro, how wonderful would that have been? (The thought she rarely let’s herself think... is that she might. There might be jinba siblings out there she’d never know or see, born of the broodmare that had eventually escaped with her.)

What she lets herself think...]

Ah, I really hope my first born is as reliable as Tanjiro...

[And she means it.]
