[Lunatia's resident centaur lady is back on screen, excitedly trying to... set her network device up somewhere where it can actually get all of a rather large frame into the shot. Not that she waits to start talking.]


Greetings, everyone! I didn't realize it's been months since I last used this for "posting"... There's probably so many new people, so, um, very quickly- If you don't know me, my name is Konoha! I'm a jinba... Or a "centaur" if you want! And oh, that's my husband, Gonta... and our friend, Mikuni! Say hello, you two!

[Catching sight of the other jinba behind her pausing in their field work, she moves the camera to show a large palomino fellow (Gonta) who gives a gruff nod and semi-wave, and an elegant ebony-coated gentleman? (Mikuni) who dips into a more proper bow with a little smile.]

We run the Tsurugi Farmstead in the Greatmoon Groves! There was a lot of damage when it flooded before, but thanks to everyone's efforts we're back up and running properly... and we've had our first fall harvest!

So... as a bit of a thank you, and also maybe to celebrate not dealing with those awful nightmares anymore, I thought we could have a hotpot party here by the river? In my village we usually make imoni in the autumn, it's so delicious! It's full of beef and taro root and leeks and konnyaku... Mmm!

[She finally gets the device set up properly and trots back into frame properly, obviously excited by the invitation she's making.]


Cordis is almost over, right? So now seems like a good time before Iris shows up... But if you have a Cordis appetite, don't worry! We'll supply all the imoni... or, the ingredients, anyway, it's more fun if you cook it outside with everyone. We also have fresh sweet potatoes, pumpkin, new rice... oh, and persimmons!

But if you want to share anything, feel free to bring your own dish, too! Let's say... tomorrow? I'll send directions for anyone who hasn't visited before, alright?

Mmm, it seems really fun for the kids. It was cute watching the Prisma children last year... jeez, I can’t believe I can say “last year”...

Oh, gosh... braised lamb sounds really good... Could you bring that? We’ve got plenty of vegetables from the fields... it’s not fancy but it’s “vegetarian” right?

I can't believe I can say the same, though I would rather have Halloween than any feast dedicated to whatever destroyed this world previously.

[ Besides, the boar masks were a little trite after seeing so many of them last year. ]

And that can be arranged. I believe I owe you some more proper parfaits as well. How do you feel about pumpkin parfaits?

[So many of the "gods" in this place ended up doing so many troublesome things...]

Well, I like pumpkins... and I know now that I like parfaits, so- That sounds really tasty!

Are you planning anything for the festivities? It is tradition in my world to not only dress up and dispense candy as it is the same in other worlds from what I hear.

[ He's actually looking forward to the normalcy of the celebration, though knowing this world, that may be short-lived enjoyment. ]

I figured we might make those scary faced pumpkins? Those are cute, and then you can roast the seeds!

Percival dresses up? I want to see that!

Not willingly. Some decorative trinkets are acceptable, but I see no reason to wear that much ornamentation, especially in the event of an attack.

[ He'd rather just be prepared with his armor and sword. ]

Will you and your husband be dressing up?

Ah... I'd say no one would attack at a time like that, but. In Lunatia, maybe someone definitely would...

[so she can't even say that's silly...]

Oh, gosh, probably not. I did wear the funny mask last time to make the children happy, but. It's a bit weird for us.

I assume it's not a common tradition to wear costumes then where you are from? A mask should suffice or even ears if you end up tempted once more, I suppose... antennae and the like.

[ He doesn't know if they have a lot of costumes to cover the horse half of her body here, but Lunatia has been known to be accommodating when they can be. ]

No, definitely not. Men in my village sometimes wear masks for festivals but not in the fall... and not for fun.

Even so, new traditions can be built in this world. Depending on how long we remain, it wouldn't be that terrible to have some modest participation in their Halloween to build morale.

[ Very modest... he's still not completely fond of the idea himself either. ]

Well, we did the candy and little paper masks last time... I don’t mind doing that much again. Especially since the kids liked it so much.

Indeed. I am told they are eager to go trick-or-treating in droves this year. I intend to prepare some sweet but nutritional alternatives for them, though I know a big kid who'd likely want to go with them.

You can likely expect to see him at the farm.

Sweet but nutritional? Like what?

If he asks for candy like you're supposed to I guess he can have some even if he's big.

There are fruit concoctions that taste pleasant but offer more than just a temporary sugar rush. Think of the parfaits I spoke to you about earlier. All natural macarons as well.

And I am certain he will appreciate it. He rather enjoys the holiday.

Ehe, I guess that's smart... I don't mind spoiling them with unhealthy things if it's just this one day, though.

He must be really good with kids, too, huh?

Even just one day of sweets may cause damage, but I suppose it wouldn't be too remiss to give them something moderately unhealthy.

He is, though I suspect it is because they share similar tastes.

[Percival, so dramatic! Just let the kids be unhealthy for one day, they'll be fine!]

Something moderately unhealthy, then!

Well, it's always good to make sure your man is good with children!

[ ...his... his man... he pinches his brows a bit and hopes steam doesn't come out of his ears. ]

I assume you speak from experience then? Is that what drew you to your own husband?

[ Let them talk about that instead. ]

Of course! Well, one of the things... he's really strong, and a good protector... but he's so good with children, and we both want a big family, so that's really important...

He's going to be an amazing father...

I assume he would, though if you do remain here and with present conditions, have you considered adopting some of the Prismal orphaned children?

[ He doesn't know if they will be here for the rest of their lives, but it is an option, one even he's entertained briefly. ]

I don’t think we’ll remain here. We’ll definitely get home- I’m sure the Lunar Scientia people will figure it out!

[oh look it’s her least favorite idea... being stuck here forever...]

If... If we were... maybe. I mean- I was adopted, it’s a really good thing to do... but here, it’s not like my world. They have all these nice people who look after children and they feed them and clothe them...

[It’s definitely not like her experience with adoption, which is either taking on a relative’s extra child or plucking one from the actual threat of starvation in a world without institutionalized orphanages or social welfare...

So. Confusing.]

I understand. It is not an easy option to consider, especially when your plans may have been otherwise before coming here. I have left and returned enough times to know this land has a tenuous grip on permanence.

[ But it's important to look at the worst-case scenario. Maybe they'll finally go home when the planet is fully de-crystallized... ]

It's nothing you should feel the need to decide any time soon. Conditions may change.

Mmm. I'm sure they will. All those plants outside the city are blooming now, and the fox people and dragon people are more healthy... I'm sure it will be any time now.

[She tried to think of this as just... a detour. That's all.

But sometimes... even for Konoha... it's hard.]

A better way to think of it. I hope for our sakes you are right. Until then, I hope Halloween will treat you well.
