hello. zuko here. a couple things:

1. for some people chroma is really difficult or weird or uncomfortable. a lot of people come from hard worlds, with difficult lives at home that aren't so touchy-feely like this, and it's hard to adjust, especially for new people. on the 20th of every month there's a social support group for anyone touch-averse to avoid the awkwardness, still get chroma, and have a mutual understanding between everyone there.

there's also private talk therapy with a professional doctor available. there will be free food, a raffle for a prize, scary movies, a haunted house, and a bonfire. meet at the community center, runs all evening. you can wear costumes if you want. anyone can come, alone or with a friend, just be respectful of others' space, thats why we're there. easy icebreaker for easy chroma and a way to meet new people and feel some support maybe. contact me or otonashi (un: otoproxy) if you have questions.

2. i'm looking for people to play some sports from my home, we need at least six more.
one is a team game called kuai ball, which i guess is like volleyball... simple rules, hard game.

the other is a Fire Nation children's game called Hide and Explode, it's a stealth/strategy game, like tag but you hide and make traps around your hiding spot with lots of little bombs, it's fun. i swear it's safe, kids play it (just don't throw the bombs AT people, hurts)



3. oh and i just saw movies for the first time
i watched Kill Will and Mad Matt: Rage Road
amazing
i want to know more about movies
there's no such thing in my world

yeah, thanks. it wasn’t my idea, otonashi started it, but I wanted to help. we could even potentially coordinate this like a kind of grass-roots social security program eventually, as it gains traction. I think it’s important.

Also I really hate chroma shit myself so........ caught my interest.

absolutely agreed. it's not natural or comfortable or fair. with the people i've become close to, it is nice, and it definitely helped us become closer faster, but that feels like a fluke. i met a few people during a hugging curse and just got lucky meeting the right people, ended up being friends, but it could have gone horribly, and it was so unnerving even when it was going well. were you here for that???

... No. But, I can imagine how bad that would be if you ended up in the arms of the wrong person.

There are some people here who I wouldn't put my trust in so easily, but-- there are a lot of good people in this world, too. People who wouldn't take advantage of others.

it baffles me every day why people are so nice and trusting here. even the not-so-nice people are generous. i don't get it. it's just the culture here, i guess but... my world is far more cut-throat.

it would be easy to take advantage of others and exploit their kindness here. but no one seems to mind that. and believe me, i've asked. it's bizarre. nice. good. helpful. but bizarre.

.... I understand. I was in a world like that for a long time. I'm sorry that your home is like that.

But, maybe the fact that people are so trusting here might be good for you. We all should be able to experience kindness from others.

don't get me wrong, there are many kind people in my world despite all the pain there is from the war!! and when i traveled through a very wide country on my own, i met strangers who helped me, welcomed me, fed me..... but i often wonder, if they had known where i was really from, because my home country ravages this nation in a war for decades and tears families apart still today..... if they knew i was from there, would they have treated me the same?

but here i think i've mostly met the kind of people who would. which is weird but good, you're right.

... I'm sorry that you've gone through something so horrible. I've been involved in a long fight myself, but... nothing like a war. But, if they had the chance to know you without knowing where you're from, I'm sure it's something that they'd keep in mind if they knew the truth.

thanks i guess. i wasn't a soldier though. i found myself in combat, but it was personal, even if it had to do with the war, it wasn't a part of it. i've never been on a battlefield as part of an army or something like that. i'm too young. just to clarify.
but yeah maybe. if they knew i was fire nation first, i don't think they'd invite me to eat at their homes... here it's like anything goes

my two close friends here are ex-hitmen in a huge crime syndicate at their home. one's a swordsman and one's a bomber. they're probably both the kindest people i've ever met? friends-wise. generous, helpful, understanding. but they're both highly competent sixteen-year-old assassins! go figure. anything goes here. no factions, no bias, no judgment. it's bizarre but good.
