Well, I'm pretty sure we didn't actually need any more proof about the whole "if you go home you go back to the same time you left with no memories" thing, but I guess I'm just more proof for that.

No one ever mentioned how WEIRD it is to have two conflicting sets of memories if you come back though. Has anyone else had any issues with dealing with that? Or am I just weird because of how long I was away from home and then how long I stayed there again?

And on a completely different topic, does the prismal kids dressing up as us seem weird to anyone else? Halloween isn't a thing in my world, but dressing up as real people doesn't seem to match what I've heard about it. Do any of you who come from a world that has Halloween know if that's a normal thing or just something the prismals came up with?

Which is almost impressive if you think about it.

[Because seriously. Talking, walking animals, magic keys, the fricking Heartless, and somehow this is the weirdest thing?]

Of course, this rat didn't come from my world, but I guess at this point all the worlds we can travel to are where I'm from.

Yeah. That's how I meant it, at least.

[ Since, well, it's not like Kairi was just easily able to go home like she could leave any of the worlds she's been in before. Not to mention the whole 'go back instantly to when you left' part of leaving Prismatica thing.]

It's kind of funny to think of them that way. I mean, up until just the last couple years on my life it was just the Islands.

Now things are just so much... bigger. I've even gone back to the world I was born in. Not that I remembered much.

...Was that weird at all? Or did you leave early enough that it really didn't matter?

I mean, it was kind of weird not to have any memories of it or feel my heart pulled towards anything or the like, since I know I spent the first few years of my life there.

But I feel anyone who lived somewhere for a few years but moved before school age would probably feel pretty similar.

[She nods. She's... well, she's pretty sure she'd be the same if she were put in that situation. ]

I guess that makes sense. Though with how everything related to hearts in your... well, cluster of worlds works I'm surprised you didn't feel anything there. I would've thought there would be at least one thing there that'd call to you in some way even if you don't remember it or why.

Well, there still might be? It's not like I explored the entire world. I basically landed and went straight into the lab.

... Long story short there's basically this Professor of the Heart who lives there, and he thinks he can find clues to Sora's whereabouts in my heart if I stay with him for a while. He's helped us out a lot in the past so I'm inclined to give him a chance at least.

[It really says a lot that the concept of "Professor of the Heart" no longer even fazes her. ]

Oh. Yeah, okay, then that's really not surprising. Maybe when you get back there you should take a day to look around. If only to see if there's anything there that you do remember.

I should, yeah. Though, honestly, if we do find anything about Sora I'm probably just gonna spring right off of the examination table and try to track him down, if it's possible.

[She's self-aware enough to see that coming.]

Maybe Riku'll calm me down.

Oh, I wouldn't expect anything different. And while I never really talked to Riku all that much, somehow I don't think he's going to try to keep you from doing that.

[Well, unless it's stupidly dangerous and Kairi would be trying to go without Riku, of course. ]

Heh, probably not. He's more likely to rush off with me.

[For Sora, they'll charge headlong into whatever they have to.]

Oh well. Once we've got him back, I can always return. It's actually surprisingly simple now... so long as I can get into a gummi ship.

[ Videl can't help but laugh. Seriously, she can't believe that "gummi ships" are actually a thing.]

Well, at least that's not a problem for you, right?

[Gummi blocks are the perfect material to protect oneself from the vacuum of space!

Shouldn't be. I don't have one of my own, but I've got connections now.

[And hey, maybe she can convince Chip and Dale to help her make one or something.]

What about you? Ever go off into space with one of your alien friends?

Nope. Though none of them have left Earth in years, so there hasn't really been a reason to.

[She pauses for a moment, something suddenly occurring to her. ]

Though honestly I'm not sure why they haven't. Gohan's dad can teleport himself and other people, so I don't know why they wouldn't at least go to New Namek once in a while. [ If only so Dende could visit his family.]

Y'know, it's definitely not the wildest thing you've told me about, but hearing that he can teleport is still pretty amazing. Does he open a portal or something?

[Hopefully not a dark, purple-black one. She's not sure how she'd deal with finding out Videl's boyfriend's dad is in league with the darkness.]

Nope. Just vanishes with whoever is touching him.

Though he does need to be able to sense someone's ki to be able to teleport there. I'm not sure if that's a required part of the technique or just how he orients himself to make it work though.

That's somehow even cooler.

[Just, one second he's there, then blink, gone. Granted, Keyblade Wielders can do that too, but that's just them moving really fast and usually behind you.]

Well, there's gotta be some kind of cap on it, right? Plus, if we're talking about teleporting around the whole universe, it'd be way too easy to warp in the middle of space without an anchor like that.

Yeah, that's true. I'm sure there has to be some limit to how far you can go, even if you can somehow sense ki from other planets.

[No she still has no idea how Goku does that. ]

...Then again, I don't know how he even makes it work at all, since I'm pretty sure he can't do magic, so it'd have to be ki. Somehow.

It sucks that he hasn't taught you how to do it. I guess it probably requires some incredibly good control, but still.

[Such an awesome ability. She could be anywhere she needed to be in an instant so long as someone she knew was there.]

Well, Gohan's dad doesn't really teach his techniques to anyone, from what I can tell. [She thought about it for a moment, then shook her head. ]

Okay, that's not totally true, he did teach Gohan some stuff. But Goku doesn't really seem like the type of person who'd usually take a student. And back home I really wouldn't have a use for it other than getting to Gohan, assuming I could even sense him at the time in the first place. I'm not that good at sensing ki from far away, unless they're using enough power to make it obvious.

... And if that's the case teleporting to them is the last thing I'd want to do.

Okay, fair, I guess it wouldn't be all that useful to you until you built up your sensing ability more.

[Though she's not particularly impressed by this description of Goku. On the other hand, not everyone's really cut out to be a teacher, so that might be a little harsh. It's not necessarily like he's hoarding techniques or something.]

It just sounds so cool! And honestly I can think of a lot of times it would have been really useful back home.

[Right, Kairi was looking at it from a different perspective than she was. If they had been having this conversation when Videl had been here the first time maybe she would be more inclined to think that she should've learned it. ]

Well, with how the worlds work where you're from, I'm not sure if it'd even work. I mean, it does work across planets, but don't some of the worlds you've been to have time move at different speeds?

[Well, that stops Kairi in the middle of her thoughts. Frowning, she considers that for a moment.]

Honestly, I have no idea if that would work or not either. Especially if you have to sense ki. I can sense their hearts, but that's completely different.

[Videl thought about it for a few more moments, before shaking her head. ]

Yeah. Though I guess it doesn't matter much anyway. Without him being here, it's not like we'll ever be able to ask him how it actually works.
