I need something to occupy me that doesn't require me having control of my body.
Split personality. There's less we have to fight here, so I take control less than I used to, and I'm bored.
I'd take offers to spar but you'd have to run it by the other half first.

Maybe where you're from. Where I'm from it wasn't common, at least not for adults.
Alchemy.

Where were you from? Which country?
... Huh. For what purpose? Anything to do with that fighting you talked about before?
[ Okay now he's just fascinated, Anon Bro-Man, what in the world... ]
no subject
There were enemies that normal humans could not dispatch, and we were summoned to take care of it.
no subject
[ what is with Japan really? ]
Summoned as in... you both are a summoning? Does that make you bound to the original summoner? If you had no summoner, would you not exist?
[ he's! stupidly! curious! and has no idea who he's talking to, because anonymous, but still! ]
no subject
It's technically a transmigration and not a summoning, but the full explanation is stupid so I didn't listen.
no subject
You were transmigrated after dying? In 1942?
[ IS HE NOT THE ONLY TRANSMIGRATOR FROM BEFORE THIS PLACE?!? ]
no subject
[why is this guy(?) hung up over unimportant things like how he came back to life!!]
no subject
Did you get to keep your original body???
no subject
no subject
Then whose body are you in?
no subject
Ours. It's a new one.
no subject
also this is WILDLY FUCKING UNFAIR he tried making a body like his original one and THAT FAILED (but not as much as he thinks right now) ]
... How the hell did you know it was new?! Instead of healed or something?
[ aka something he had happen in this MOST RECENT TRANSMIGRATION i'm so sorry atsushi ]
no subject
The old one was human. This one isn't. Hard to mistake them.
no subject
[ there's no not awkward way to ask about someone else's body is there ]

Not a term I know, but if I'm trusting what the internet says (I'm not sure I do) it seems like you'd need to be a spirit of a tool? Given physical form, which is... your original form.
[ Too weird! He doesn't get it! (Go meet the swords, Shen Qingqiu, you'll at least understand it a bit better.) ]
no subject
[The swords would at least be more helpful than Atsushi.]
no subject
[ The swords are also cool but he will wonder why they're all... Japanese... he wants to know why he's meeting so many people from Japan in Neon Space City and there will never be an answer ]

More convenient than transmigrating into the novel, transmigrating from the novel.
What was it about, out of curiosity?
no subject
[Yes, this is where he draws the line: not the parts about being a dead author who died in that specific year and was brought back with alchemy, but the part where someone might have read his book.
To be fair, it is required reading in some schools.]
no subject
Same trouble, however: what he doesn't know he doesn't know, and he's... less curious about figuring out who this man is than what the content of the novel might have been. Since that's not getting volunteered, he leaves well enough alone. Okay, okay! Aggressive side of transmigrated author's personalities! He won't press! ]
Understandable.
[ From one Anonymous Bro to another, he does get it. ]
What are you both making of this second transmigration?
no subject
Maybe a copy of Atsushi's work will appear in the library someday. That's what bonus points are for.]
He's making friends, so it's not terrible.
[Aggressive author's personality has very simple priorities: stabbing and making sure his other self is alright.]

And there are indeed quite a few Japanese citizens here... it does, however, incline him to believe that it's a book potentially read by people from Japan, enough that it's identifiable, and likely covered in some level of compulsory schooling. Which tells him little enough about contents, but a bit more about context! (He would read that book so fast if it did.)
Meanwhile, it's sweet that half of himself is so concerned about the other half of himself. Or disturbing. He has no idea what to make of such significantly split personalities. Self-care is important? So that's good? Probably?! ]
May he continue to have good success with forming those bonds of friendship. Likewise for you... or at minimum, having his consent to getting times where you get to practice your own preferred form of bonding as well.
[ Fighters want to fight. Liu-shidi has always been an excellent indication of this, along with the rabble called disciples of Bai Zhan Peak. ]

I'm not the kind of person who has friends. But you can keep wishing him well.
[He appreciates it, not that he'll ever say something like that.]
