So, I turned 17 today. I completely forgot that was going to happen. In my defense though, my birthday is usually in March and it's only now because it was September instead of May when I arrived in the last world that pulled people in that didn't live there.

... Anyway, for something those of you who haven't known me since before I showed up here might be interested in, does anyone want martial arts lessons? I was training a couple of people back in the last world I was in and it went pretty well there, so I figured I should probably start that up again.

For now compensation is negotiable, since I don't know how many people would even be interested in this in the first place and money here is... weird. Days of the week, time, and how often the lessons happen are going to depend on just how many are interested, but I'll let people know sooner rather than later.

That was also a pretty good point. Because Lunatia was easily one of the biggest cities around. "Maybe. And I guess it's always possible that there's more cities out that that we just haven't found out about yet. Or that the people here don't know about..."

Though if that would be a good thing if another one of those cities that this government didn't know about wasn't guaranteed, but they could really only worry about something like that if it happened.

"There probably are. But even if there are ten times as many places where life can live than we know about, that's still only thirty on an entire world. And we seem to be the only ones that can generate Chroma this well. Kind of puts how much effort the Prismals are putting into making sure we're comfortable into perspective, really."

Seriously, no level of luxury would be too much if they're literally the only hope they have to heal their world. Not that Kairi's likely to take advantage of that fact, but it's still something she's going to think about, if only because it's so staggering.

Videl frowns, thinking about what Kairi said for a few more moments before nodding. "Yeah. It really does. I'm just glad that this is what they decided to do about it, because they could've made it a lot worse for us. I'm honestly really surprised we haven't heard some of the natives saying that they should be 'more strict' with us or something like that."

She shudders a little as Duplicity comes right back to her mind. Not really something she wants to be thinking about on her birthday, but it's not like it can really be avoided now.

"Which would have made us a lot less likely to help them out. Sure, some people are still pretty suspicious of them, but we aren't all yearning for the people in charge here to be thrown down and the Moon Knights to be disbanded. Clearly they're smart and empathetic enough to get that." Which, given how Chroma was generated, made perfect sense.

Granted, they'd have occasional things like magical hug, kiss, or outright sex inducing food, but that was clearly not intended as a trap, it was just a matter of different cultures.

Videl frowns, shaking her head "Right. I mean, I get that. And I'm really glad they're being smart or not evil. The last sex obsessed place I was at... well, the government there didn't exactly share the Prismals' views on how to treat their outsiders. Or what consent even is, for that matter."

Of course, LIES had also at one point decided to intentionally bring people in. But even so, if the government wanted to force them to moonlace to generate power, they could very easily make that happen. It's not like they couldn't block their abilities, after all.

"Every time you tell me anything more about that place, I'm more glad I can't remember it."

Seriously, how had she, or the other she, managed? That city sounds like a nightmare.

"And I'm glad you're here now, instead."

Videl smiles. "Thanks. I'm... glad I'm here too." And she hopes that if the other Kairi she met there was managing alright there. Considering what it was.

"Really, my only regret with leaving there is that there were still a couple of friends I had there before I arrived here. Even if a lot of them also arrived here with me..." She pauses, shaking her head. "Well, that and the fact that we never got to take those bastards down. But that would've probably taken years if we ever managed it..."

"Yeah, I understand that. But hey, the world that place is on has to be out there somewhere, right? Maybe we can find it and break everyone out from the outside."

It'd be one heck of a search, but everything Videl's told her implies it would probably be worth it.

Videl doesn't say anything for a moment, but she does nod. "Yeah. That's... that has to be something that we can do. Especially considering how many people here are the type of person who wouldn't want to let them continue with what they're doing."

Duplicity's government wouldn't be able to fight against an army, after all. And if she was right about how they could block powers there, they probably wouldn't even be affected by it. Well, most of them wouldn't. It's entirely possible that those of them who came from there could still be affected... but the government would have to do whatever they did to turn their powers off first.

"I feel like no one would want to let them keep doing this, if only out of self-preservation."

After all, if Duplicity is anything like Prismatica, anyone could get dragged there. You could be the most evil, heartless monster in the world and still be on the side of stopping them, just so that you didn't have to worry about that place.

Videl doesn't say anything for a moment, thinking about it, but what Kairi says does make sense.

"Right. There's... that's a good point. I mean, in pretty much works the same way this place does. Only some jackass made it happen on purpose." And then supposedly vanished, but for the most part Videl didn't believe anything she had been told about Duplicity by any government officials, so she's not sure if she actually believed that even now.

"Right, so nobody's safe. That's awful, of course, but at least it means everyone can be united against them pretty easily."

There might be some awful creeps who would want to have a place like that around, but they would want to be the ones in charge.

"Really, finding the place would be the hard part. Well, that and leaving Prismatica."

"Yeah. It's definitely not something that we'd have to really even consider right now for both of those reasons." If they ever got a hint that even finding Duplicity was possible though, it might be a good idea to go ahead and try to get people willing to help fight against them.

But for right now, it was just pointless to think about it. "Anyway, I'm sorry for making it so that we're talking about something like... well, that."

"Hey, it's alright. It makes sense to compare Lunatia to the place you came from before. Especially since it sounds like there are plenty of similarities."

But also some vast differences, and thank the Light for that.

Videl nods. True, it was really hard to not compare two places that were so focused on sex. "Still, we're supposed to be hanging out and having fun, not... having me horrify you, pretty much."

"Eh, well... Happy Birthday, you're not there anymore?"

Not exactly a birthday present, given she's been here a while, but something to be happy about, at least.

Okay, Videl can't help but laugh at that a little.

"Thanks." She said, before looking around for a few moments. "Anyway, you seeing anything interesting around here?"

Really, right now all she's seeing is the same type of plants and stuff that she could see back home.

"Not really. It's pretty, definitely, but I think we've seen about everything by now. You wanna try something else?"

She's not sure what to go for next, but it's a big city! They can find something.

Videl shrugs for a moment. "Sure. It'll be nice to keep hanging out and exploring the city at least. Might help me with finding something else to do in my free time besides train."

She likes training and definitely wants to get stronger since things happen here, but having some other hobbies couldn't hurt either.

Kairi laughs lightly. "I think you can take a training break for your birthday, of all things."

As they turn to head back into the city, discussing options, Kairi just hopes she's managed to give her something resembling a good one. You don't turn seventeen every day, after all.
