So, I turned 17 today. I completely forgot that was going to happen. In my defense though, my birthday is usually in March and it's only now because it was September instead of May when I arrived in the last world that pulled people in that didn't live there.
... Anyway, for something those of you who haven't known me since before I showed up here might be interested in, does anyone want martial arts lessons? I was training a couple of people back in the last world I was in and it went pretty well there, so I figured I should probably start that up again.
For now compensation is negotiable, since I don't know how many people would even be interested in this in the first place and money here is... weird. Days of the week, time, and how often the lessons happen are going to depend on just how many are interested, but I'll let people know sooner rather than later.

Sounds great. Though for you it's probably not going to be lessons so much as it's just going to be the two of us sparring together. I mean, you already seem to be pretty good at hand to hand, even if it's not you're main fighting style.
text;
[ But since the two would be more or less sparring and there'd be less teaching involved... ]
Drop me a line sometime. Your time's probably better spent on people who'll need the lessons more.
text;
Honestly, ever since we fought in that tournament I've been itching to fight against you again. I'm curious to see how it goes when the two of us don't have anything that's limiting us, you know?
As for the lessons, it's probably going to take a while to get that all set up, so we might actually get our spar in sooner than that. It really depends on how big of a draw they get.
text;
Well if how hard you hit with that limiter tells me anything, you'll keep me on my toes. You remind me of someone I know.
[ Of which is a good thing. ...and has him thinking that if it were Tifa in Videl's shoes in that tournament, the result would have probably been the same or ridiculously close. ]
I'll keep my schedule open. [ What schedule? Cloud... Dry humor doesn't really work in text form. ]
text;
But this person that I remind you of... was she a friend of yours or something else?
text;
[ In text it's hard to convey emotions. He's not selling himself short, more curious. ]
Yeah. Her name's Tifa. She's a martial artist too. Packs a real wallop.
text;
[ Of course, going into more detail about that would just take... well, hours, so she'll avoid talking more about it unless he asks. ]
Huh, yeah, I guess I can see why I remind you of her then. What's she like outside of fighting?
text;
[ He doesn't know the
goddamn planet/solar system bustingscope of Videl's world and who inhabits it, but it was like comparing regular members of the military to the elite. The grunts to those in SOLDIER. Though he's not against asking her about it sometime.If Videl's keeping a watch on her device at any point in their chat window, a notif keeps blinking in and out with the little (•••) symbol. Cloud keeps typing. Then backspacing. Then typing again until finally, ]
Tifa works hard. Running a bar while taking calls for my own business.
[ All that typing and backspacing just for that?! Still, he wasn't sure of what else he wanted to add about her at first. To be honest, there's way more he can say. Things that were much more personal about her and how he feels about her; he's not about to share so much. Luckily for Videl, the next text comes quicker. ]
I can't think of many people out there as strong as she is.
Re: text;
Either way, once she gets his response, she quickly reads it before answering.]
Wow. It seems like she really keeps herself busy. I mean, between running a bar, keeping track of whatever it is you guys do, and being a martial artist I have to wonder if she ever has time to do anything else.
text;
I run a delivery business. [ ...so the battle-hardened, decently hand-to-hand and sword-inclined fighter was a delivery boy? ] I'm on the road a lot. So she tells me about new clients, looks after the kids...
[ Talking about this now, it brings him back to what he was doing moments before arriving here. He'd asked Tifa to close down the bar, while he took the day off from work himself. He's still not sure why he's telling Videl all this, but he's already sent the message
he misses his family, but it's not necessarily a bad thing either. ]Guess we'll take the day off when I get back.
text;
Huh. That's... not what I was expecting. Is this something you're doing after you retired from a more "exciting" job, or is the world that you come from just that dangerous that a courier needs to be as strong as you?
[ She won't comment about the kids thing. It's not really any of her business, and seemed like it might be a bit too personal to ask about it, if she's being honest with herself. ]
text;
[ SOLDIER wasn't actually part of his resume, so... ]
I used to be a mercenary. I got no reason to keep doing that line of work though. There's plenty of monsters between towns so it can get rough. It's pretty much where I come in.
text;
[ Of course, she's not sure how many opportunities there were for a mercenary who wasn't a complete, selfish jerk, but she'll leave that part unsaid. ]
text;
[ Had she voiced that, that would have hit a pretty close to the mark. Not that he'd have taken much offense- who he was then wasn't exactly... himself per se. ]
Oh, and happy birthday, Videl.
[ Before he forgets. ...did that mean that he'd be turning 24 next month? The calendar here was weird, but seemingly on point. ]

Anyway, I guess I'll be poking you sometime soon for that spar?
