Hello! This is Konoha... some of you maybe think my name is Shizu, but- It's Konoha! I'm from Echigo province, in Japan, if you know it... and I'll be in your care.

I could attempt to learn to cook in that style along with you, but wouldn't suggest that I know how to right now. However, I can recommend someone who might.

Not here, but back home in my Citadel, it's several centuries ahead of the time you are from. We had somewhat modern conveniences, but only by the 2010s at best. Some things were still old-fashioned, but having running hand-held showers was eye-opening when I first saw it.

From what I understand, it's simply a biproduct of our being here, existing as we are. Our bodies are made of the same crystals found across the planet, so our excess energy generates chroma the way a leaf generates energy for itself when it's placed under the sun. Obviously we feel like flesh and blood when we have enough chroma to keep our bodies running, but I think I've seen others commenting on the fact that we become crystals again if we die here... It seems to me that whatever magic summoned us here imbued us into crystalline forms somehow.

[He's staggeringly less formal about referring to the poor guy than most other people here are, it's fine.]
