[Good morning, Lunatia. The video starts with a view of hooves, a too close view of a face... and then finally... a centaur? Who keeps looking off screen while she talks and never seems to actually focus on the lens correctly.]
Hello? Can everyone see me? Connor, am I doing this right? Okay? ... Okay.
[She clears her throat and dips into a bow, the camera bobbing along with her.]
Hello! This is Konoha... some of you maybe think my name is Shizu, but- It's Konoha! I'm from Echigo province, in Japan, if you know it... and I'll be in your care.
If you don't know me, which, I figure is most of you, this city must be even bigger than the capital I'm the... well in my world we say jinba but I'm the "centaur". I haven't seen anyone else like me so I think I can say "the"...
Anyway... what I wanted to ask was... if anyone had an recommendations for... shops? I've never really shopped before, and I haven't seen any locals quite like me, so if you know somewhere that does... I don't know, tailoring? Or a restaurant with really big seats or tall tables? Anything like that!
I'd appreciate it, so... thank you very much!
[Another bow, another bob of the camera... and a blurry flash of android helping her turn the dang thing off. Thanks, Connor.]

[ That is his noise of agreement.
And to use chroma from her to buy the cloth he wants to for her... ]
I don't need any.
[ Hmph. ]
no subject
Let’s go down to the Caihong district place and I’ll show you. It’s more like our world there.
no subject
[ That means he may be able to find what he wants there easier, too. ]
Very well, let's go there.
no subject
[He’d said he crossed oceans after all!]
I’ll meet you... same place as before!
[It was a good landmark!]
no subject
[ Could he speak the language? No. Jaken may have had to figure it out as Sesshomaru wandered and fought on the land. Whatever. ]
Mn.
[ He remains a great conversationalist. Amazing. 10/10! And long silence before the message ends.
Where she says is a good landmark, so he waits there. Standing with his back straight and gazing up toward the sky -- though, it looks like he is being contemplative; he is more keenly focusing his attention on his surroundings. ]

Just like she'd said, she arrives at an energetic trot, greeting as usual with a bow and a wave. From there it's easy to lead him to the lower levels, chattering a bit about this and that on the way to Caidong, regardless of how little he might talk back. She prefers to do her shopping there rather than the first district, which was so full of metal and lights and unfamiliar sounds.
Caidong at least smells and looks and seems a bit like home. The more Chinese influenced architecture at her back, Konoha splays her hooves a bit in a pose, gesturing at the district awaiting them as if presenting a prize.]
And here we are! Does it look familiar?
no subject
He sniffs the air a little as soon as they arrive, and it does smell familiar. No, not quite the same, but enough that it is not so jarring to be in the area. (Perhaps, if he had dog ears, they would be perk up a little.) Yes, the atmosphere is more pleasing to be in. ]
It does. I can see why you feel more at ease here.
no subject
[It's not necessarily less crowded thn the other districts, but the more familiar feel of the architecture, the scents, and the layout of the streets makes it a bit easier to deal with- for her, anyway. The plus side of being as large as she is... she sort of parts the sea of people where she goes, so hey- anyone following her gets to deal with less of a press from the crowds.
There's still that glow about the signs and such here and there, but she starts heading towards the quieter area Shen Qingqiu had shown her before, waving a hand at the restaurants and shops they pass.]
I can show you how to use the money anywhere you like, so just let me know where you want to go, alright?
no subject
To the shops that sell cloth and other clothing.
[ He's not very good at surprises. Plus, he realizes this will be easier -- because won't she look more excited at certain cloth, too? However, he is keeping to himself because he already decided that he's using what chroma that he has rather than having her contribute at all. Even though, she probably did contribute earlier (shhh!). ]
Those that would be good in making a kimono.
no subject
Good choice! Some of those other clothes aren't so bad, but kimono make the most sense.
[Familiar clothing!
And thanks to Shen Qingqiu she knew a shop for that, too, and even though they hadn't had hakama the likes that could be modified for her rear, they definitely had silks and robes. Changing direction, she leads Sesshomaru down a quieter street, working off visual memory.]
I think it was around... here it is!
[There, at the end of the street... a cloth merchant nestled between a calligrapher and a medicinal herb shop.]
no subject
[ He realizes that she's talking about his own clothes, and he's talking about hers. But that doesn't really change what he's saying, anyway. What if that Aerith and her were not able to find proper clothes? Would Konoha become discouraged? Hm. ]
Come along, then.
[ Once the shop is pointed out, he takes the lead to head into it. Usually, the human merchants would just hand often items to avoid being killed. That is what makes it so odd to have to pay for items, too. This Sesshomaru's visage has not faded at all. So, why? Well, some of his abilities are not as powerful as they used to be. ]
Let's see... what would be best? [ An actual thoughtful comment as he looks around -- heading toward the colors that Konoha had mentioned before. ]
no subject
Hmm, good question...
[Thinking about what would compliment him better, she pauses on the way to where he's headed to look at something silken and red, wiping her hands on her hide pelt wrap before she reaches out to touch it. His current garb had some red in it...]
Maybe crimson... ? Or maybe that's too bold for the whole outfit... ?
no subject
He glances over his shoulder, noting what she's looking at, and shakes his head. ]
No. None of that will work. [ While it may be nice to "match," he would much rather have colors that suit her. His gaze returns to looking over the material. Let's see -- something with yellow and oranges? ]
Light yellows and oranges, maybe? [ He is remembered of Rin's first kimono that he acquired for her, and frowns just a little. ]
no subject
No?
[She moves away from the stronger reds at his refusal, drifting more after him towards other warm tones.]
I guess yellow and orange would work, too... Your hair is all white, so I guess that goes with basically everything?
[Is that how fashion worked?]
no subject
Are you saying that yours does not?
[ Sesshomaru decides on brighter yellows and oranges. Those sort of colors that may be like autumn as Konoha said, but also like sunrises. Is he getting sentimental? Perish the thought. He merely thinks that those sort of colors would look nice.
He carefully removes the material to show it to her. ]
What do you think?
no subject
[He makes her actually think about it for a minute, staring down at her dark forearms and brown equine coat. Probably some colors didn't... look good with it, right? Like... pale blue or something?
So she's never given it that much thought... It's easier to look at the fabric he presents, smiling a bit as she plucks the end of it to hold up in front of him, squinting as she imagines it as clothing.]
That's nice... so is this...
[She picks up another bolt, the same colors but slightly muted, with a pattern like blades of grass.]
Or this...
[Another in similar tone, but a more geometric pattern... There were so many options here???]
no subject
He looks between the three bolts of colors, and wonders how much chroma that he actually has. There is really no way to know, hm?
Sesshomaru pauses to glance at his own robes, a brief look at the pattern on it, even though he is well aware of what it is. Hm. ]
That last one will do. [ It would be troubling if it turns out that he cannot buy all three for her. So, he will go with the last one. The color and those shapes look like they would be fine. ]
Let's go. [ He is at least nice enough to put back the one that he took out to take the one she chose. The next time I come back here... purple and pinks, perhaps. He thinks those colors would look nice, but those are more for winter than summer.
Yes, he's thinking that far ahead. ]
no subject
But that settles it easily, and Konoha claps her hands together, nodding in approval as she prepares for the next step.]
Okay, then! Next step is using the metal box, so first get this out...
[She pulls her own device out from her harness pouch in demonstration, tapping on the hard screen.]
no subject
What an odd way for money to work. Somehow, to him, it feels more like it is just making a show than actually doing anything. But whatever, the bolt has been bought and he looks it over carefully once more. ]
Right.
[ Once more, he ignores the shopkeeper (one wonders if he'll be allowed back, but then again, he does pay so maybe??) so that he can hold the item that he just bought out for her. ]
Make a good kimono out of it. [ A pause. Right, he should be a little more clear. ] For yourself. [ A beat. ] You said you needed something like this, right?
no subject
Covering up quite naturally for Sesshomaru's reticence, Konoha handles the small talk with the shopkeeper, bows their way out...
Only to be confronted with the bolt of silk.]
Eh- ?
[She genuinely looks surprised, blinking in shock and feeling... pretty simple all of a sudden.]
Weren't we shopping for you?
no subject
[ He blinks back at her, slowly. ]
I merely said I would learn how money would work here.
[ Perhaps, if she were shorter than him, he would have patted her head. It is that sort of feeling that grips him, but since she is taller and he would have to do it later. ]
This should help you out some, yes? [ And also, have fun with that Aerith person. Mmn, he thinks of saying that aloud, but decides against it in the end. Why does she need to hear that from him? She doesn't. ]
no subject
[Now that he mentions it... He hadn’t said that, and she’d just assumed. Blushing slightly from embarrassment over how silly she must have looked, misunderstanding this while time, she thinks about trying to refuse such a nice gift... but that would be to refuse his kindness, and she’d hate to do that.
Instead, she reaches out to accept the bolt of silk, far nicer than anything she would have chosen for herself normally, clutching it to her chest and dipping into a small bow.]
Thank you very much! I’ll treasure it!
no subject
[ He gives a small nod in return to her bow and words. ]
This place is also tolerable. It is good to know it is here.
[ His way of saying that he's grateful that she showed him where to go, and how to buy things. Money is very confusing. Why are people concerned about it? Why can't things be settled through bartering (or recognizing one is superior to the other)?
Ah, well. ]
And you will soon have other places to be, don't you?
no subject
[Shen Qingqiu had called it "dim sum", but a lot of it had been pretty familiar... and even the strange ones were still mostly the ingredients she was used to, which was nice.
At least she's used to human money, though she let her boss handle the matter of her wages and pay her instead in rice for her family.
The question of other places, though, seems to confuse her, and she stands there holding the bolt of fabric with a curious cock of her head. Did he mean... she might have other plans after this, or?]
- Will I?
no subject
[ Who's to say? He certainly wouldn't know.
Sesshomaru makes a very soft thoughtful sound as she tilts her head. He looks up at her, looking at her expression and face properly, before he turns his gaze away. ]
Yes. Clothing shopping with that person, right? [ A beat. ] Will you need chroma for it?
