And now that all of the sprouting ears and tails business is over with...
[Among many other effects but whatever. She's adjusting and perhaps at a pace far more speedily than she really ought to be in all the wrong aspects. Ears and tails? That's okay. Thinking about not seeing Toby again for a long while? That's harder. The video tilts and moves a bit as Sarah settles her device a good enough distance away that she can more or less talk to it somewhat casually.
Once she's finally happy with that she leans back in her chair, bearing a mug between her hands. Steam rises off of it just a little and she completely looks like she's settling in for a nice chat with a friend here.]
So I'm not exactly well versed in video over networks and things like that but if I'm going to be here a while, might as well jump straight in. So in an effort to just get to know some of you and maybe satiate my curiosity at the same time, why don't you share a story with me?
[She pauses a moment to blow across the top of her mug, scattering the steam out of view of the camera for a second or so before she elaborates further.]
It can be anything you like. A personal story, a fairy tale, something you heard here or elsewhere, whatever. I'm not picky here.
[Maybe she will be in the future but for now she's feeling somewhat lonesome and stories have always been a way for her to outrun that particular emotion.]

[ This is actually pretty recent for him, so certain events still weigh on his mind a little bit. He smirks at one in particular. ]
The guys we were fighting were the trained military type. One of the younger girls in our group, Satoko, is really good at setting traps. In fact, she usually sets them to try and get me when I show up to school in the morning... but watching her booby-trap an entire hill and seeing grown men flee in terror was one of those experiences I'll never forget!

She's that good, hm? Remind me to give her a call then if I ever need booby-traps.
[Her tone is amused since... well, she assumes Satoko isn't here and she couldn't really call her. Now maybe if she ever goes to the Underground again...]

[ It sure was nice talking about his friends for a while. Rather ironically, it distracted him from the fact that they're not here. ]
So, I told you a story. I know this wasn't part of the deal, but you should tell me one, too. I'm kinda curious about where we Prismals come from.

[It's only fair she offers him his own deal as well, right?]

[ Not that he has any way of knowing, but she took him at his word, so he should take her at hers. ]

[She thinks on this a moment. He'd told her something he claimed was true but sounded totally out of left field so maybe she could do the same.]
You talking about your town there and trying to figure out your friend's connection to it surviving reminds me of another puzzle. It's not nearly as interesting though but maybe you'll like it.
I knew a woman once who was a puzzle herself but she didn't even know it at the time. All she knew was she had something missing from her, something she had once had and didn't have anymore.

But puzzles are something that piques his interest, so he listens intently. ]
That's a promising start. It sounds almost like this woman had amnesia or something like that... but how would she figure out what she was missing if she didn't know what it was?
