[Oh look, for once Pucci's putting his face to a post on the network! ...As username: viadolorosa still, but that's how it is sometimes. There's a few seconds of him trying to get a good angle on bracelet cam, before he smiles warmly and offers everyone a little wave.]

Hello. If we haven't met, I'm Father Pucci, and...I think that I can be of use to at least some of you. I've been under the impression that, even after some months here, adaptation to our need for chroma generation and the methods the moons drive us to use can still make people feel...Uncomfortable, I suppose. Amongst other things. And generally being in a new place with such differing morality can be hard.

So, what I'm offering is simple! We all have our social networks for the tough times, and services to assist with that besides. But if you just want to talk to someone, perhaps I can help you come to terms with this new place. Or simply listen if you have anything on your mind. I'm experienced with listening to people, as well as practicing confidentiality, for what that might be worth.

I'm sure you'll catch me around, if you're not willing to try and organise some sort of meeting at the moment. I hope that we can talk soon!

[Fish's voice comes through a very pleasant androgynous type, they sound relaxed but mostly curious.]

Hi, I take it that you're of some kind of religious order? I mean... just from the word "Father" in your name.

I'd say that the cross on my chest should've clued you in, but I take it that means nothing, so you're correct in your assumption! I'm a priest, Roman Catholic for what that might be worth, and although I doubt I need to offer full confession to anyone here, I thought that...It might help people's burdens if they had someone to talk to who simply couldn't go tattling on them.

But-- I like to think that I'm a man of more modern cloth, too. A little less fire and brimstone, a little more love and acceptance for thy neighbour.

[ Fish is maybe a bit lost in all this. You had them lost immediately at Roman Catholic. So, they turn on the video to reveal themselves: a violet, androgynous merfolk with bright blue eyes and red hair and fins. ]

I think this should be better... ah... I don’t know a lot about worlds outside of mine, so you’ve got me really lost.

[ An apologetic smile. ]

[There's an audible little 'oh!' when Fish reveals themselves, but there's nothing negative about it. In the grand scheme of things, is a purple merperson really that strange? Certainly not, and especially when they're pleasant to talk to and look at.]

That does explain it, yes. I come from a rather bland and boring Earth, where humans are about all there is for sentience; I'd remember if I'd met anyone as striking as you, certainly. [We're not going into the vampires today, that just gets complex...That, and there'd only been one of note in his experience, anyway.] It sounds as though priests are a universal constant, though; I'll go with feeling relieved on that front.

Some of my colleagues...Read our religious texts differently to me, and would have a harder hand in differentiating the good from the bad, however; I just want to reassure people that I'm not so harsh a man that I'll lecture them for not fitting into my world view. Does that clarify any?

[ Well, the good Father had certainly gotten into Fish's good graces immediately by calling them striking. Their eyes seem to sparkle brighter-- like water off a clear ocean surface. And they seem to be listening very intently to him. ]

So... you're a good kind of priest, then? Not the kind who'd draw hard lines or something like that?

[Hey, no one ever made friends by saying 'what the fuck you're purple' right off the bat, did they? (And it helps when it's not lying, either.) ...What an interesting question, though. Pucci lets out a thoughtful hum, fingernail audibly tapping at a wooden surface as he mulls over a proper answer.]

I can't uphold others to values that I don't hold, and I broke my vow of celibacy for love long ago. Besides, existence...Is far too grey, to have hard lines drawn. I would rather bring as many people to Heaven, or whatever equivalent, than cast them down.

So...I hope that I am. I try my best to preach love and understanding.

I see... you're a very interesting kind of cleric, then.

[Fish is clearly very curious and interested in him.]

Anyway, what is this "confession" you mentioned earlier?

I'll take that as a compliment, and with relish! Though all clerics...I should hope they're some degree of interesting just by living, you know? Ah, but-- confession!

[There's a soft whooshing as he flaps his hands unseen, before he lets out a little chuckle.] It's...A ritual from home, I suppose. People came to priests if they had sinned, and would ask for absolution in the eyes of God. Although it was technically a thing of penance and performance to cleanse yourself, I think that there's equal benefit, if not greater, in the therapeutic side of it.

To confess to someone acting as the ears of something greater. To talk about something bothering you to someone who won't share it. And I'm sure if I did share anything confessed, I'd be as good as ly-- I'd find myself in strife.

[To be fair, Genesis has met a couple of clerics in Lunatia so far. But Father Pucci stands out for the fact that he's talking a lot about religion-- something they haven't heard much from the other clerics they've met.]

So... you're basically held by faith to keep secrets?

Obligated by faith, upheld by general morality, I should think. But when I can't coast by on an assumption of good morals due to my position, I thought the reassurance of my obligations would help here!

Mind you, where I come from, there are people more qualified to help people through their troubles on a psychological level and they're also required to uphold confidentiality, so I suppose it's just something that people desire when it comes to their deepest secrets, no matter who they tell.

Well... you certainly do have a point there.

[Fish smiles warmly.]

I'm glad to hear it. I was a little worried that I'd get completely laughed out of Lunatia for suggesting something a little more...Whimsical, I suppose. But I want to do my part for everyone, and this is the best I can offer.

[ Spoken with a tone that's coy, clearly playful, very much flirting right back. ]

Please. You're going to ask me that question and act like you aren't one of the loveliest flowers in this garden? I have an eye for seeing the beauty in people and nature, after all.

It likely helps that I've always found people who aren't boring to be marvellously attractive. Two in one, as they say. But...You must hear this all the time, and from less mundane people than me.

Ah, you’ve seen right through me, Father. I should have expected such superb intuition from one such as you. But marvelously attractive though...? Ah, I’ve been called a beauty many a time, but with such lofty praise? Consider me absolutely flattered.

[ If there was one thing Fish was an absolute sucker for, it was always flattery. ]

While I'm glad you're flattered, I don't flatter pointlessly. The way I see it, no matter your views on religion...We live in beautiful times, surrounded by beautiful things and people. To ignore that, to act like it doesn't exist, is to insult the source of existence and its creations.

So yes, you're stunning. It's a fact, and one I'll stand by. In fact...I don't believe I've ever seen such vibrant colours on a person, even with the assistance of dye. I do hope that doesn't mean you're dangerous too! [Listen to him chuckling away. What a dickhead.]

[ My my my, the good father seems to have a honeyed tongue on him, too! But Fish is absolutely drinking in every word. ]

Well, father, I wouldn't consider myself dangerous unless you wanted me to be.
