[Oh look, for once Pucci's putting his face to a post on the network! ...As username: viadolorosa still, but that's how it is sometimes. There's a few seconds of him trying to get a good angle on bracelet cam, before he smiles warmly and offers everyone a little wave.]

Hello. If we haven't met, I'm Father Pucci, and...I think that I can be of use to at least some of you. I've been under the impression that, even after some months here, adaptation to our need for chroma generation and the methods the moons drive us to use can still make people feel...Uncomfortable, I suppose. Amongst other things. And generally being in a new place with such differing morality can be hard.

So, what I'm offering is simple! We all have our social networks for the tough times, and services to assist with that besides. But if you just want to talk to someone, perhaps I can help you come to terms with this new place. Or simply listen if you have anything on your mind. I'm experienced with listening to people, as well as practicing confidentiality, for what that might be worth.

I'm sure you'll catch me around, if you're not willing to try and organise some sort of meeting at the moment. I hope that we can talk soon!

Simple conversation is fine.

[ And a little more cheerfully: ] Those other things don't interest me at all.

[ Pfft, what woes? Hm, guess it isn't surprising that people would have some, but he can't say that he has any ........ other than a spider once more slips out of his reach. That's not so much of a woe, however. And anyway, should that spider ever come to appear here... he's setting up a nice little trap for him. So! Still no woes to speak of! ]

Wonderful! One should always be upfront about their needs. [There's the sound of a quiet little clap, and then Pucci shifting about on-- his bed? It sounds soft enough to be blankets.] Tell me about yourself! Since I've already bared the vital bits to everyone here, after all.

Or at least whether you come from Earth, I suppose. That's always interesting; figuring out how everyone's homelands differ, even if they have the same name.

Right? [ One can feel the smile in each and every word that he speaks. His words have a bright lilt to them that makes him sound not completely teasing and also not completely sincere. ]

Okaaaay. I am a magician. I entertain the masses but mostly like entertaining myself. I suppose that is because one should always do what they love, hm?

[ Well. Let's start with that. ]

And Earth? I can't say that I've heard of it!

[It's almost familiar, to hear that sort of tone. For a moment, Pucci's thrown back to his childhood in Egypt, but there's no way anyone from then would show up so he shakes the nostalgia off.]

Magician? That's an interesting line of work, if I do say so myself. And definitely one that someone takes up out of love, rather than because the work pays so well. Still, I've found that if you truly love what you do, you're paid more than enough in time. I won't go asking for your secrets, since that's assumedly your treasure, but...

What's your favourite trick? You likely know ones I don't, if you don't come from Earth.

Right? Money is... well, it isn't anything that particularly interests me, either. [ Look at this running theme. ] Even if I don't get paid at all, I don't mind. And you can go asking anything that you like.

[ His favorite trick? He usually answers with "making people disappear" but he's been making that joke a few times now and he would hate for it to go stale. ]

Mmm, there are variations to it, but my favorite trick is that of distraction. It's really enjoyable to pull people's attention to one place only to have them realize they've been looking in the wrong direction the entire time. The expression of shock when they realize they've been had... it's always exhilarating.

Emotional satisfaction is its own reward, though! Just don't throw the doors wide open--

Though...I'd imagine the most satisfying trick is sleight of hand, mouth, or action even against those who are suspicious of you, who know to expect it. And from what little I know of modern magic, deception is the main thrust anyway. Distraction, fooling sceptics who think they know your trick inside and out.

Right. [ He laughs. ] Why not?

Those are good, too. But yes... I enjoy ruining the days of those that believe they have everything figured out.

If you ever take up performing here, I'd...Really like to watch. Hopefully not be made a thorough fool of in public, since I don't doubt your capability of doing that, but simply witness you at work! It sounds fascinating, if I'm honest.

Mmmmm.

Sure. If I'm able to, I'll perform in front of everyone. Though... I fear most people feel a little foolish even when they're part of the crowd. It is only because my sleight of hand and misdirection is... well... how a performer's should be.

I'll give you that warning to not pay too much attention to what I'm saying and doing, and instead think of what my intentions are. If you're able to see through my trick from the audience... that'll be enough of a reward for both of us. Right?

A little embarrassment is fine; that's half the fun of watching magic, isn't it? To be part of the trick! I'm simply far too shy to go volunteering as your assistant, is all. And I lack that mental panache to go up against a master, or at least someone who is passionate about their craft.

...But now that you've warned me, I've lost my chance to be a truly blind audience member. Alright, I'll try my best to pick out your sleight, though I really doubt I'll live up to expectations.

I suppose so. [ Mmmmmm. ] That's fair. Mmn, that's fair.

Perhaps not. But perhaps you might. In any case, it usually doesn't matter if I warn people or not. In fact, it sometimes is more fun for me that everyone knows. I suppose that makes me something of an evil magician.

'Evil'? That's strong language to go using around a priest of all people! I'd rather label it...A man who likes a good challenge, and seeks personal growth by pushing himself harder than he needs to.

You could sit in mediocrity and accept simply fooling those who want to be fooled, but you don't. So your skill is automatically greater, or at least your willpower is. That's my personal take, anyway.

It is also fine to call me "evil."

[ He cannot help but laugh a little. ] After all, I am just here for fun conversation with a priest. There is no reason to worry yourself about anything else, right?

Well, I won't tell you what to call yourself, and I'm not going to make this conversation boring by trying to lecture you on morality or something!

...Though you've piqued my interest, all the same. Evil for being atypical in performance style? Motivation? Or something else entirely?

[ Morality is a terribly boring topic for him. He is well aware his morals are quite fucked-up, and so there's no use arguing them! ]

Yes, the performance is atypical. My motivations are also atypical. And something else entirely. [ He has a lot of issues but is fine with them. ] Like I said... I perform because I enjoy it. My motivations are based on what it is that I consider to be fun.

When a person doesn't consider the feelings and motivations of others, they are evil. That is the long and short of it.

Ah! That's...Not a way I'd ever thought about it before, but I won't deny that your point stands strong. Boiling things down to their essence brings you to that conclusion alone, so I'll have to agree!

At the same time, however, I'd like to hope that your thorough enjoyment of your art carries through to your audience. So even if you're despicable about it...You can still bring happiness to others. That's the sort of evil that one can be charmed by, and therefore the most dangerous! [It's Pucci's turn to laugh now, deep and musical, and his smile's still audible in his voice when he speaks again.]

Or maybe that's just me. You seem very interesting, after all, so I daresay I'm charmed.

Though, hmmmm, I think that your hope has come true already. After all, I'm having a lot of fun and you're also having fun. Right?

And in turn, I'm glad that my words could have such an effect! I'd be lying if I said that I didn't intend to bolster your mood and confidence, ha.

In which case...My hope has been reached, yes. Now I have to find a new one, which is slightly dejecting, but I'll live just as I have all these years. Maybe it'll be to catch that show of yours...Yes! That sounds good enough, I think.

By the way, since you know my name...Do I get to know yours, master magician?

That is what a priest is supposed to do, though.

Don't sound like it is an afterthought. That will end up ruining all the confidence and bolstering of mood you just did. But hey... what is the hope that you were able to seize?

And I'm Hisoka. [ It really never loses its novelty -- people asking for his name. It's happened once or twice back in his world. He usually says, "Those that are going to die need not learn my name." However, there's no point in saying that here. Death is something that is not so permanent, so he'll end up just saying something embarrassing if he takes that hard of stance~~ ]

Ah-- my apologies! I didn't mean that whatsoever, but...Hm. I'm terribly sorry. I meant that both having a good, entertaining conversation and seeing a wonderful show where I struggle to keep up are on even par as far as my happiness goes, without detracting from the value of either one.

So, Master Magician Hisoka! My hope is to continue fascinating and being fascinated in turn, at the end of the day. To grow, and learn with people! Does that sound less insulting?
