Saw talk about us getting sent back to where we came from.
[...Not that she doesn't understand why, 'cause, well... hey. Everyone's life got kind of interrupted by being pulled here, right? Plenty of folks probably left a shitload behind. But... pff, well. This is more just. Biting the bullet and getting her own thoughts out 'cause she can.]
I got reminded of where I came from by what happened with the plants. What it reminded me of got a lot worse, though. I don't know how much of a universal constant this is, but I was 3 or 4 when the Raccoon City incident happened on Earth. Plus I've been trying to move on from some things a long time.
I wonder how alone I am saying I wouldn't shed a tear if I couldn't go back.
[...Well, that's some... kinda presumptive phrasing, there, Zoe...?
...But, well. Suffice to say...
...She's just tryin'a speak her head, out there. Just type it out, and collapse onto her forearm as she watches text just... tick across the screen...!]

[I mean... you did live almost as far as it gets southeast in stateside terms, so. Yeah. You know about rain.]

Some people just destroy everything they touch. [As... you know, limited a view some might think of a statement kind of implying "some people are evil".] Even with the ones who don't, a lot of the time it's easier accepting that things just happen than it is seeing people do things you never wanted to see them do.

But yeah. I'll take dealing with actual monsters than metaphorical ones any day.
But I suppose there's a good chance I'd be saying the exact opposite were I from some place that had dealt with proper horror movie monsters instead those that knew how to act like people. We've all got our own horribly unique sets of baggage we've brought with us here.

Mmmmmmmmh...]
Maybe part of why I feel the way I do is because the people I used to know were made into monsters.
[She didn't have to... "pick between the two", in other words.]
I had a mom and dad and brother. ["Had".
For... what it's worth, though, she doesn't say that to linger rather than... to explain.]
But in my book, it's easier to know what you're getting into with monsters than with people.
Even if they're harder to put up a fight with.

She hesitates a bit before answering; she could have a lot to say about people made into monsters, but hers would at least still be mostly metaphorical]
Yeah that's a good way to put it.
Let's hope that those of us who don't mind being here terribly much get to hang around and find something better than we left behind.

Don't mean it's fun, but, you know. Struggling with it's long since kind of been put to bed.]
Yeah.
[...Pff, on that note...]
It's been a long time since I was in the city.
[Even, you know - the "I couldn't freakin' get off Mom and Dad's property for years" aside. Country-born gal, here.]
It's a little loud, but it already feels like I have the whole world right in front of me.
[As cheesy as that sounds.]
