I'm so sorry to bother everyone again, but... um... I have a question?

[ Connie is himself for once when broadcasting, apparently feeling better and better about showing his true face to everyone. He's holding a bit of stick incense in his hand, absently twirling it. ]

Is there... is there any way to measure how much gold is in chroma? I have... the evil kidnapping foxes, they killed my ferret, and I need her back, but the spell is... it needs a component of incense, charcoal and herbs worth a specific amount of gold, and I'm not sure how to balance that in our... money.

[ He sighs, rubbing the back of his head and kind of getting the stick tangled in it. ]

I haven't actually done this without my master. Do summoning spells even work, here?

[ He really hopes so, he misses Grace a lot. ]

I'm afraid I can't really help with the gold conversion, but there's a traveling salesman that comes around near the end of every month that sells an item that will let you summon an item from home. I'm not sure if it would work for you, but it might be worth keeping in mind as a back up, in case your Plan A doesn't work out for whatever reason.

[She knows next to nothing about magic, or herbs, or gold, if she's being honest. But she is good at considering alternate solutions to the same problem.]

Well, it's... it's called 'wild magic'. Sometimes it just touches someone or lies dormant in their blood, and it makes them able to cast spells - but sometimes... sometimes there are backlashes.

[ He shifts a bit uncomfortably. ]

I also don't really have any say over what kind of spells that come to me.

So I was told! That... that might be the best way to get her back. I'll try my way first, though... I don't have a lot of chroma to spare and the place seemed expensive.

Really? You don't have branches of magic you can learn from, it's just whatever pops up for you?

Well... um... sometimes it makes me go invisible, or I can only speak with pink bubbles, or I turn into a house plant... or I cast a spell I didn't mean to cast...

[ He trails off a bit. ]

Normally, wizards read and train to learn their spells from different magic schools, but my spells just... they just happen. One day I learned how to cast a lightning bolt and I don't know where it came from.

I'm sorry I can't be anymore help than that. And yea, the chalk is pretty expensive.

But for what it's worth, it seemed to work the way it's advertised. The mech I summoned is really the one I was trying for, rather than being a copy or something.

If all else fails, there's a guy who sells magic goods to Moonblessed. He may have some kind of summoning materials.

Um, it was... it was rather tricky, but most of that was the components. I remember the words and the gestures.

Generally, it's short for a mechanical something. In my case, specifically, it's short for large sentient mechanical green lion. [And yea, she knows how ridiculous that sounds.] She's pretty hard to miss, so you've probably seen her around.

[There's a bit of a pause there, to let all that sink in, and then:]

It's my money, I can buy you components with it if I want. What else am I going to do with money but spend it? [ A stubborn pout, but it quickly shifts to a playful smirk. ] Or, if you're going to be insistent, I'm happy to help you earn more instead~

No, I'd say I... I don't know much about it at all, since I'm not really trained in it. I just learn spells out of nowhere.

Um, well, you use the herbs and incense like you usually do, and you make a seal with the charcoal where you want your familiar to appear. I like her as a ferret but you can make it any kind, and even change their form later...

[ Pause. ]

Then you cast the spell. There's... words and arcane gestures involved.
