Is there... is there any way to measure how much gold is in chroma? I have... the evil kidnapping foxes, they killed my ferret, and I need her back, but the spell is... it needs a component of incense, charcoal and herbs worth a specific amount of gold, and I'm not sure how to balance that in our... money.

[ He sighs, rubbing the back of his head and kind of getting the stick tangled in it. ]

I haven't actually done this without my master. Do summoning spells even work, here?

[ He really hopes so, he misses Grace a lot. ]

I'd offer you gold, but it sounds like the kind of spell you're using requires a bit of sacrifice and the gold wouldn't be returned, is that correct?

Huh. Sorry about your ferret, that really sucks. For what it's worth, summons do seem to work here.

You can't estimate based on how much you'd pay for the stuff in gold? Say if you've got an apple, you'd pay 1 gold but it costs 2 demichroma here, that's a 1:2 ratio. Pretty simple math from there.

Can you brute force it? Just get more'n you think you'll need, get your friend back, then just...keep the rest?

Oh, that's a tricky one. I haven't had to think about components much, spell focus and all... [ Mayhem taps a finger on their lips under the veil, thinking. ] I wish my wizard friend was here, I'm sure he's got some kind of universal value system worked out for this stuff when he summons his familiar, he's that kind of person.

Can't say about summoning specifically, but all the magic I've tried has worked fine, so I'd be optimistic about that part. Has she been able to pop in and out normally while she was around?

I'm afraid I can't really help with the gold conversion, but there's a traveling salesman that comes around near the end of every month that sells an item that will let you summon an item from home. I'm not sure if it would work for you, but it might be worth keeping in mind as a back up, in case your Plan A doesn't work out for whatever reason.

[She knows next to nothing about magic, or herbs, or gold, if she's being honest. But she is good at considering alternate solutions to the same problem.]

That's horrible! I'm so sorry this happened to you. I can't really say what the exchange is, or if they do it, but I am willing to donate some Chroma so you'll have extra funds for this.

If all else fails, there's a guy who sells magic goods to Moonblessed. He may have some kind of summoning materials.

[ after being kidnapped and drugged etc. himself, titus did get that the cultists were planning to kill all their victims, but... somehow hearing that someone was actually killed (and a poor ferret, at that!) comes as an awful shock. ]
