Mal sehen, ob ich mich erinnere.... Otacon! I have for you an update on what the shift is for me, during Iris.

[The man ducks his head just a touch, and the base of what appear to be very large, very imposing antlers are visible for a moment. Apparently it would take a bit of effort to actually display the entire rack, just judging by the sheer girth of the base of those antlers. Less visible, but still obviously there? The base of a pair of fluffy, off white colored lop ears.]

I would show you in person, if you like, but I would need eh... A little bit of time to get ready. Leaving the apartment has become... a bit more complicated than usual. I am not clear on the anatomy of antlers, I do not think you can just file them down to fit through doors.

... Ah, with complicated in mind! Gabriel, I have a favor I would like to ask of you! I will pay you back, I have no button up shirts. Would you be able to get one or... three for me? I did not come prepared for this, I fear.

[ Hal hides how much he's actually into how big and buff Reinhardt is - his type, and he's so gentle and sweet. This is just kind of a sad byproduct of it, so he frowns. ]

That's... not great. Should I come with a bonesaw or something? Do you need anything?

I do not think we'll need to lop them off.

[There's laughter in his tone at that] I am waiting for a friend to bring me a few things, and I'll set about fixing the door frames to suit me.

I think what I will need, when I fix the frame, is some help making some adjustments to the rest of the doors here. After all, this won't be the first time I'll be sprouting antlers! I can't sleep outside for nine days every month.

Should you like to, I would love a hand with that.

I'm not great at stuff like that, but if you want the emotional support? I know it can be hard -- not personally since my changes don't... impact my life like that.

Well, I will take someone to talk to while I work, as well. I would certainly appreciate your company.

I could use some getting out of the house! And I like to see people's changes for myself. Do you mind sending me your address? I can bring over some snacks.

[ Only polite! He usually brings lattes and fresh baked goods from a bakery on the way. ]

Do you drink, Hal? I still have a few bottles of beer and stout, if it catches your interest! I would hate to have nothing to offer you when you arrive, after all.

I don't often, but I will with a friend.

[ His ears wriggle slightly and he waves, because now he has to get up and get organized to visit. He can't be all disheveled, again. ]

Then, I will have a cold drink for you, for when you arrive, mein Fruend. Please, take your time coming, I will be here all day, of this I am certain.

[ This is where it gets embarrassing.

Y'see, Hal is actually pretty attracted to Reinhardt. Maybe it's his loss and grief he's working through, maybe it's just because he's been trained into having a specific type of dude. It doesn't help he's so... good? It makes him happy that he met him, and gets to see him again.

Which means he actually shaves and cleans up and makes himself smell nice and he dresses nice, of course - it's summer, so loose dress shirt and some of the city's weird Chroma shorts for his little tail. He decides against bringing drinks, but does get some simple baked goods from the place he goes when he's visiting: lemon cake pieces and some cheese and onion muffins. He doesn't like sweets, but the other party may.

He smooths his ears out a little before he comes towards the apartment door, oddly tense. Iris makes him cuddly and wanting affection and touch, and he thanked whatever magic was responsible for not putting him into heat this time. He would have ghosted the poor old soldier if that were the case, out of sheer embarrassment. ]

[He was quite serious about not going anywhere, quasi-trapped in his house as he was. Oh if he did that little duck and sideways shimmy, he could probably escape with only a few shallow gouges etched into the door frame but he'd.... like to avoid more of that.

He was also quite serious about the drinks, and by the time Hal arrived, they'd be plenty chilled enough to have.

It'd be hard to miss Reinhardt. He'd taken a decent chunk of the door's frame out, and thus, the entrance way was the very first thing he'd be attending to.

The old one yanked off and set aside, nails pulled out and carefully discarded, he was currently in the process of trying to ease the last of the splintered frame off and away to see how much more clearance he might get with the frame actually gone.

He wasn't so distracted that he wouldn't notice company, of course. Immediately upon sighting Hal, he broke out into a grin, taking a step back and away from the mangled frame to let him in.]

Hal! Willkommen, komm rein! Sit, sit, it is good to see you again. I hope it was an easy trek over here, you're looking well put together.

[ That would be because he really tried this time. Poor Angela had seen him at his worst, unshaven, unwilling to move much away from his little space. ]

I didn't think you could get any bigger.

[ He's like some kind of regal forest spirit with those majestic horns. Like something from Princess Mononoke. ]

[A regal forest spirit that is heavily considering actually putting little jingle bells on his horns who's friend just bought him hideous vaporwave 80's Hawaiian shirts. It's not what he's wearing right now, of course.

Can't run the risk of tearing the nice shirts! Of course he looks flattered, chuckling as he moved to hand over a bottle of stout.]

That would make the two of us! I was ill prepared for it, but I will be ready next time.

Thank you for coming, I admit, I am not used to living alone. It's always good to have company.

I understand that much. I was cohabiting, until recently.

[ He's always awkward when it comes to visiting, not sure where to sit, or stand, or what to do. He decides to put the little bag of baked goods down, to start. ]

I, uh, dunno if you like sweet things or not...

[Here, let him help. He goes to tug a chair out for him as he inspects the bag. He's a big guy, of course he's going to be interested in food.]

Ah, I like anything my friends bring for me, I am, you will find, very easily pleased!

I have some currywurst in the refrigerator, if you do not mind waiting for it to be properly made.

[ Never heard of that before. ]

I... thank you, for, uhm, just taking time out to visit with me. I've had a rough week or so.

[ He just sort of says it. Reinhardt is big, and friendly, and only Zenyatta and Angela had this soothing effect on his anxiety. Well, aside from the late partner. ]

You don't have any kind of diet you have to stick to, to be... big?

Ah? Is everything okay, Hal?

[Concerned, of course he was! He'd still answer the question of course, but instead of going back to the door to work on it, or heading to the kitchen to make that aforementioned currywurst, he'd take a seat at the table.]

High protein of course, but food is only a small part of staying fit! I focus more on exercise.

I can tell.

[ Geez... that would be nice to snuggle up with. His rabbit ears flicked forward. He tentatively sits with his new friend, careful to not accidentally do it on his tail. It's happened before and it's not pleasant. ]

So, you're a soldier, right? Are you... I don't know how else to put this, but, augmented in any way? People where I come from don't quite get that tall.

I am a crusader, ja. I am not eh... augmented in any way, no. I was just a very, very large child. Excellent genetic luck, isn't it?

My friend, Baldur, was just as big, if you can imagine!

Wow. So are you a human then, or something else?

[ It's indelicate, but it could be future genetic tech. They're doing all this stuff right now on soldiers. His partner was a clone, so he's seen it in action. ]

Wholly human, I can assure you! Just an exceptionally sized one.

[Indelicate, but he appreciated the directness.]

[ Hal's ears wriggle a little, and he holds back any further comment. He instead just thinks about cuddling up with a big, warm, buff man, and not feeling sad for a little while.

Maybe some day. Maybe he'd want that kind of contact. Hal always offered himself wholly to those who had the pain and hunger from the moons - it was his self-sacrificing way of helping. ]

I'm just being nosy. I know plenty of weird people here, so someone who is just a larger version of a normal person is weird on its own.

[Well, heaven's knows Reinhardt wouldn't turn the offer down. Less out of need, really.

It was just enjoyable to be affectionate.]

I have met a robot here! He is not quite like what I am used to, at home. Far different style, but he seemed very pleasant.

Interessant, he too had rabbit ears! I have yet to meet someone with them, who does not look wonderfully charming.

Wait, really? Who? I wanna meet another robot. We don't have sentient ones where I come from -- it's kinda taboo.

[ Being a lop meant his ears could never stand right up when surprised or intrigued, so instead they seemed to lift slightly before the natural biology and gravity made them flop down. His face was able to emote in delight, of course. ]

They are? Ah, they're quite common where I come from...

[He trails off, fiddling with his bottle for a moment, before continuing past that subject-]

His name is Soundwave, a very striking fellow I must say. A bright blue and white, and he has rabbit ears. He mentioned that they no longer vanish at the end of the moon cycle.

Sounds like I need to find this robot! This'll be amazing.

[ His big blue eyes practically sparkle with potential sci-fi reality! ]

Why did he choose to keep them, then? I'm not judging, a friend of mine kept his jellyfish tentacles, but it seems like a weird choice.
