CASE 001 ♞ [VIDEO]

( The feed flickers on to a young man sitting at a table in the apartments in all of his courtroom finery. While he very much looks as though he's done his best to make himself as presentable as possible, there's no disguising the bags under his eyes. This is very much a man who has not had very a good night's sleep in a long time. )

Good morning. For those who I've not met before, my name is Miles Edgeworth. I was a prosecuting attorney from Los Angeles, California, in the United States of America on the planet Earth.

( Truly, what has his life come to that he has to make that clarification! )

I have been reflecting on the events that have occurred since our arrival on this planet, particularly during the festival. ( The plants had been bizarre and all, but he hadn't overly involved himself with them, having found other people more suited to what he has decided to consider extreme weeding. )

While I understand that the natives of this world might be more accustomed to free intimate contact between strangers, I consider it downright criminal that our food and drink at the festival might have been laced with substances that affect our behaviour without our knowledge or consent. If anyone suspects they may have consumed some of the contaminated items, I would be most interested in talking with you further.

( Edgeworth just blinks and stares for a moment. There's a lot to process here: why does this man have animal paws and ears, and that's not a person name. And to think he also has an acquaintance nicknamed Germany? They must have some strange hobbies. He puts that particular thought aside for now. )

What do you mean, 'made you like this'?

( Is there something strange about the man he is supposed to notice, beyond ... everything? )

[ they do indeed have a lot of strange hobbies, but sadly it has nothing to do with their names edgeworth. instead, italy is going to be acting as nonchalant about this as possible ]

Oh well, the ears, the tail, the paws... it's really hard to do a lot of things without normal hands you know? I mean, there was that brochure with the story about the fisherman and his octopus lover, but I was told that could just all be mythology.

[ there was a lot of exaggerated movement of his 'hands' when explaining, but seemed to get back to the topic. miraculously ]

Anyway, what else am I supposed to have been on the look out for? Is it something dangerous? I don't really think I was intimate in any way.

[ he definitely was, he just has no boundaries with certain people ]

As far as I am aware, there were certain foods at the festival that encouraged people to be more physically affectionate than they would ordinarily. I'm glad to hear that you were unaffected.

( At least in that particular instance... but for now, he has to ask: )

What happened to your hands?

[ciao]

Oh yeah, definitely unaffected. I felt just like how I normally feel most of the time so that's good!

[ there was a look to his paw, opening and closing it slowly ]

So I accidentally popped off a friend's button, but since it's not like having regular fingers it's hard to do things like sew the button back on. Sometimes dors are hard to, but I think I've figured it out for the most part!

That’s just how I woke up one night, talking to someone else we think it might be something with the moon cycle. Though I could assure you I didn’t have some 1980s teen wolf situation at home, so it’s just something happening here for some reason~ I’m still gathering information, but I don’t want to damage books on accident.

You seriously just woke up like that?

( That's just... honestly bizarre. There's no other word for it. Although he supposes it would be difficult to read books without hands. )

Do you know of anyone else who has been so afflicted?

Not personally, no~ Like there's someone else I talked to who seemed kind of affected, but definitely not to the same extent.

I don't know how it all works yet, but I hope to research as much as I could!

[ there was a lean into the camera, so curious with a tick of the ears ]

But you know, if my working theory is correct, it's only a matter of time until everyone is affected in some way~

[bratworth]

( Edgeworth backs away from the camera slightly as the other man leans in, as though afraid to look at him too directly. )
