[Voice] - About Moon Cycle Antics...

[Midna does not make much use out of the network, but figures she has a question and doesn't want her face attached to it, in the event that anyone puts two and two together and realises she's actually asking for a little assistance. In the most subtle way she can muster, anyway.]

Hello, lovelies.
I've a question and your cycle—moon—whatever you wish to call it—is irrelevant.

How you do handle traits you acquire that could potentially be harmful to others, or to yourself? A good example of this might be if you grow horns and don't want to gore anyone who comes near you or sleeps next to you. Another example of this might be if you acquire serpent traits and possibly have some form of venomous accompaniment. Not that I know how that would work.

But you get the point, I'm sure. I'm not asking for any specific reason other than curiosity, so please, indulge me.

A...mix of all three creatures associated with Cordis. I get the wings of an owl, with cat-like claws, feet, ears, and eyes, and the fur pattern and teeth of a fox. Plus a tail that's mostly cat-like, but has owl tail feathers running down the sides.

[Midna utters out what sounds like a titter. A laugh? Something. Kind of.]

Goodness. I will never complain about my own situation again. Not that I ever really did, but what you go through sounds far worse. You poor thing.

It was definitely a lot of trouble at first, but it's actually not that bad now that I'm prepared for it. I switched the bed my apartment came with out for a waterbed, and it's very accommodating of my extra limbs. I can even lay on my back and not end up with my wings getting pinched or falling asleep.

...What's a waterbed?

[She heard everything else, but. BUT. This sounds very relevant to her interests.]

Just what it sounds like: a bed filled with water instead of springs or foam. Since most of its volume is liquid instead of solid, its shape changes to accommodate the person laying on it without causing any extra pressure. They're very helpful when you're short on laying positions that don't have one limb or another underneath you.

That sounds amazing. Where did you get one of those? How much did did it cost you?? I love my bed already, but...

[A pause.]

I want a waterbed now.

It was a little on the expensive side, but I got it from an ordinary furniture store.

[He'll go ahead and give her the address of one on Level 2.]

[Except. She'll probably have to fight with wanting to eat fancy food and wanting to get a waterbed now.]

Wait. You sleep on a waterbed with wings? Aren't you afraid you'll... break it or something?

The top is padded, so it's more difficult to puncture. Otherwise, I'd have probably torn it open with my claws in my sleep.

You actually sound quite dangerous during the moon cycles. I'll remember to stay on your good side.

Well, Cordis does have three incredibly efficient hunters as its associated animals. Fortunately, the moon influences us toward more playful moods than violent ones.

For a moment there, I wondered if you were implying you would hunt me. [She's teasing. And so is he, evidently.] It seems as though you've a penchant for teaching me something new.

I won't say I don't enjoy a good chase, or game of hide and seek, but I'd never force someone to run or hide from me unless they'd done something to truly deserve it. And so far, everyone who's earned my ire that severely hasn't done so during Cordis.

[Yet again, Midna doesn't seem to know what he's referring to. But... she can relate. Marginally.] Not unlike you, I like the pursuit. Simple things, predictable things, bore me. I like to be kept on my toes. But too much complexity annoys me. I suppose I could be difficult to find the right balance with.

But if you're ever up for a game or two, I think I could humour you. Perhaps.

I find puzzles and strategy games intriguing, myself, but...there is something to be said for more straightforward entertainments. I'm very fond of sports and competitions, so I wouldn't at all turn down an offer of a race.

[She pauses to tap at her chin thoughtfully.] I might be better with those. I'm afraid I'm not much of an athlete. [Says a seemingly lazy princess who has spent a good chunk of time making other people do things for her.]

If you don't like things with a lot of rules, I'd suggest either checkers or go. They're fairly straightforward in concept, so learning the basics doesn't take long.

I'm not familiar with either of those. I suppose we played cards where I come from, but I don't recall much in the way of other such games. I wouldn't be against the idea of learning. Although I suspect one might lose their patience with me.

I've tutored someone completely hopeless in a much more complex game, so you might be surprised how patient I can be.

Ah, but you hardly know me, so is that confidence or arrogance speaking up?
