[Voice] - About Moon Cycle Antics...

[Midna does not make much use out of the network, but figures she has a question and doesn't want her face attached to it, in the event that anyone puts two and two together and realises she's actually asking for a little assistance. In the most subtle way she can muster, anyway.]

Hello, lovelies.
I've a question and your cycle—moon—whatever you wish to call it—is irrelevant.

How you do handle traits you acquire that could potentially be harmful to others, or to yourself? A good example of this might be if you grow horns and don't want to gore anyone who comes near you or sleeps next to you. Another example of this might be if you acquire serpent traits and possibly have some form of venomous accompaniment. Not that I know how that would work.

But you get the point, I'm sure. I'm not asking for any specific reason other than curiosity, so please, indulge me.

We got a deal, then. Operation "get Midna-chan hooked on Caihong" is a go. I even got a few ideas for pullin' it off already, but I'll leave those a surprise.

[Midna considers for a moment, warning him against unpleasant surprises. But in hindsight, she realises that Majima usually has good ideas and she can't readily foresee an issue with him surprising her with something. Basically, she's certain he's harmless.

If it helps any, it sounds like popular consensus is that people with harmful traits choose not to endanger those around them and largely either go into isolation for the cycle, or they elect only certain trusted individuals. You know, for Chroma purposes, I assume. I admit that it wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but it was helpful in its own way.

[Basically as a way to tell her to keep doing what she's been doing up to now.]

[Midna hesitates. Because well. It's embarrassing to talk about stuff and it's becoming increasingly apparent that Midna probably needs someone she can trust to have these kinds of discussions with.]

[Majima catches that stray syllable, but Midna's so regal at all times that he's a little unsure he heard correctly.]

...Ya swear? Even I wound up needin' some help last week.

[No, of course she doesn't swear because those are like promises and expecting Midna to keep a promise is just asking for disappointment. She frowns thoughtfully, thankful that he can't see her.]

I can't picture you being the sort to need help.

Believe me, when I've got some goal that needs reachin'? I wanna get as far as I can by my own strength, but it also ain't weak to fight alongside somebody.

Yes, I suppose that's true. I haven't made it a habit to cooperate well with others, but there are always exceptions.

Well, if ya ever do need a buddy for somethin'? My brain's all yours to pick, or I can lend a hand, or whatever ya need. I'm free while the sun's up.

Are you saying that you're never around after the sun goes down, Majima-san? That's a shame, because the day does not agree with me.

[He's both intrigued to find out that somebody must be teaching her about his country and a little bummed out by what he has to say next.]

She pauses a moment.]

Surely you don't work every night. I suppose if we're out during the day, it should be fine if I'm not in the light for too long. Otherwise, who knows what might happen. I could very well swoon and be in need of some strong arms.

'Course not! Time off's a thing, as is callin' out. But even if I gotta arrange this durin' the day, the good thing about the lower levels is there's plenty of shade. Which...

[Strong arms, yeah, that earns a dumb grin, but no one would ever know what with how serious he's about to get.]

Ya joke, but what actually happens if you're caught out in the sun and can't get somewhere safe?

[Midna is quiet for several moments, mostly because she wonders if such information could be used against her. It probably could be. She hasn't made any enemies yet, but...]

The last time I was exposed so directly to light, I nigh died. [So perhaps she shouldn't understate that day really doesn't agree with her.]

[He was worried it was something like that.]

Well, I won't start handlin' ya with kid gloves. That'd just be insulting, but I'll keep it in consideration. No spacin' out and invitin' ya to the beach in broad daylight, that's a promise.

It should be fine. I'm observant enough to be careful and I've discovered some items here that allow me to spend a little more time in the light.

All the same, I look forward to our outing, whether it's day or night.

[He laughs at the thought of her wearing some, even though she's definitely gotta mean some other kind of fancy Lunatian gadget.]

Y'know, just by the way... Not related to anything, but have ya found anything else around the city that tops that slot machine? You were more into that thing than a kid's into candy.

[It still makes him go "Aw..." when he thinks about it.]

...Sun... glasses? [Once again, it seems there's something new that she's not familiar with. Leave it to Majima to introduce her to yet another thing.]

Oh. And... no? Not quite yet. The slot machine was a lot of fun. Although isn't there something akin to that in PrismaPlace? Some place with a lot of games? I haven't seen it myself, but I've heard about it.

You wear 'em over your eyes and they help ya see better when it's too bright out.

And the thing in PrismaPlace'd be an arcade. Definitely yer kinda joint. I just figured that if there's somebody out there teachin' ya a little Japanese, maybe they introduced ya to some other Earth stuff, too...

But I guess they must not be showin' me up that bad, huh?

That sounds... oddly fashionable and practical at the same time. I will have to see if I can find such a thing for myself.

[She pauses as he explains further. An arcade.]

The only thing I learned is how to be polite. I know that '-san' is polite. And I know the term... '-kun.' I don't know what that one means, though. And I'm not sure what you mean when you use '-han' and '-chan.' My knowledge is limited. Before I knew what they were called, I had assumed you'd given me a pet name.

I do like being treated as though I'm special. [Because she is special.]

[Yass girl go out and treat yourself to some sunglasses with the perfect amount of Bad Bitch energy.]

I could always call ya Middy-chan, or maybe... Midnight-chan? [ ...big 'eh' on that one.] But is it as special if I don't come up with it in the moment? Brainstorming's kinda cheating.

I'm also not bein' formal when I use '-chan'... It sounds cuter, don't'cha think?

Middy-chan. Midnight-chan. [Midna doesn't seem to know what to think of either of those, indicated by her seemingly long pause. In the end, however, she supposes he can call her whatever pleases him. She's not terribly picky.

What exactly does '-chan' mean? I don't mind how it sounds. I just wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not.

...I guess a good word for it would be affection? Some fellas use it on every gal they see, others save it for close friends and family, but comin' from me... it just means I really like ya!

'-kun' is a similar deal, but it's considered manlier. And '-han' is the Kansai way of sayin' '-san'.

Affection...? [Obviously she knows what the word means. She just isn't used to it, evidently. Or affection and her don't usually go in the same sentence.

For whatever reason, she's smiling.]

Do you, now? I suppose I should be calling you Majima-kun, then. And you may call me whatever you'd like.
