What is it that keeps you living? Why? What makes it worth it to you?
[That’s, uh. That’s it. That’s the message. There’s no follow-up explanation or anything.
She’s just curious and doesn’t seem to see how alarming a question like that out of the blue might be]

its this thing my lungs do
i breathe in and out and i think its subconscious since ive been knocked out a metric fuckton of times
or sleep
i really dont have a say in it
no subject
I guess it might be better to ask: What makes you happy?
no subject
uh
hmm
apple juice and music are pretty cool
i dont have reasons for why they just are
ok me being an asshole aside
you good?
no subject
Sorry, did I worry you? I guess it seems really strange to ask something like that out of nowhere, right? I'm alright though. Someone told me death wasn't permanent here and it got me thinking about it.
Thank you for asking though. That's kind of you.
no subject
that needs to change
no... ish
[[Yes. Yes she did.]]
just tried to get under your skin and you got all philosophical so i just wanted to make sure you were good
who told you people dont die here?
[[Not sure what to say, he takes a little while to respond. Dave's no good with people complimenting him and that felt like a person complimenting him that wasn't obligated to compliment him.]]
uh
sure no problem
thanks too
you know for the compliment
[[Conversationalist extraordinaire.]]

Someone named Hisoka.
Now that I think about it, I probably should've asked how he discovered that.
[Probably that should've been one of the FIRST things you asked him when he told you, yuri.]
no subject
next time i wont be an asshole instead
[[Even Dave doesn't know what a normal person would say, so he can't fault her.]]
ok hisoka is a start
maybe he died?
i know people back home who died and werent dead technically but some of them stayed dead so i wouldnt go out offing randos to find out if its true or nothin
no subject
Died but weren't technically dead? I think I understand what you mean, a little bit. But how is that possible? [i mean, she knows why someone like Ouse was dead-but-not-really, but she doesn't think the whole 'schrodinger's shrine maiden in a box' thing is common outside of her world.]
no subject
unless you got a killer cape going on somewhere i didnt figure you for having
ill keep my eyes out for the name hisoka and ask too
i got a few questions for him myself when you say this guys got an idea no one dies
theres a ton of reasons why someone dies and then isnt dead
cpr for one but if he could on his world maybe?
i know people back home who cant die
well mostly
theres two ways to kill them but i think itd be a shit thing to out the ways in case they make it here
no subject
I know people who have died but aren't dead, so I was simply curious. Which I suppose sums me up rather well. There's just a lot of different worlds and different ways people experience things. I want to know them all.
Hmm, maybe that's a reason for me to live.
no subject
thats a uh
yeah thats good keep up with that idea
what do you mean they were dead but not dead? clue a bro in on all the four one one howd they un die?
youre doing it again
are you saying you have no reason to live? we just went over apple juice what about table hockey have you played that yet? its like hockey but on a table and not as many canadians
no subject
[This did not answer the "dead but not dead" question, se realizes, but she's not sure how to explain. She sighs a little, regretting bringing it up.]
But for your question... There used to be a ritual done on the mountain I lived on. Priestesses would enter these boxes filled with water from the underworld. While in the boxes, they would slowly be melted away by the water, but so long as they kept their will strong, they wouldn't die and could technically live for years and years unchanging. They would be dead, but not truly dead until their wills gave out and they melted away for good.
Just a reiteration that I'm cool with all these topics, it's Dave that's got the weirds.
maybe its just lack of tone on the system cause were fuckin around in text
its ok to be sad of course
[[Oh. Oh God. Okay. Wow no wonder she's sad and Dave needs a second to look that over again and make sure that he just understood her village drown the fuck out of women for their religion. Religion which is a bunch of shit and does this to people all the time.]]
ok holy fuck
i thought i grew up around abusive shit
are you sure they werent dead they were literally drowned howd you guys know?
poor dave...
[SO yeah, dave, not far off she's just. Very Sad.]
Sometimes the boxes were opened up again. Most were dead. But there was one girl I saved from a box who'd been in there for probably weeks, at least, and aside from being very tired and soaked, she was completely fine. And alive.
He'll live lol... maybe pun intended, I haven't decided.
[[This poor girl, not that Dave is the smiliest person in the world but he thinks back to Jade and how happy she was and he's seen the smiles Rose gives Kanaya. He feels bad for her.]]
oh
holy fuck okay well that settles that
man when shes safe shes gotta go for olympic swimming
i tried to hold my breath once to get my way where my bro was concerned
i just passed out and started breathing again
shes got that shit down
mvp move though man you saved that chicks life and got her out of a soggyass box
who the fuck wants to be in a soggyass box?
i say thats reason to be happy

[She has a feeling that his rambling is more about feeling uncertain as to what to say or do about any of this information rather than any disrespect about the subject matter.]
Oh, I did it there. It's over text, so you obviously couldn't see, but that made me smile. You're right, it's something to be happy about.

im going to think it looks something like this
:)
