second ☕✨ text (opening a clinic & a game!)
Guete Morge, everyone!
I will try to keep this brief. I've posted once before but I imagine it's more likely that if you know me, you've met me in person or know a mutual acquaintance; my name is Angela Ziegler. I'm the doctor that has opened the Second Nature Clinic on level 2. It has officially been set up and I've worked up a preliminary amount of basic medications that should be familiar to most such as allergy medication, pain management, decongestants, and other such things.
More importantly, there is no charge for any of my services if anyone ever needs to come by or contact me. I'll also gladly come to you if you're not comfortable in medical facilities or don't wish to leave your apartment. I think we all know by now the effect we can have on others, depending on the time of the month. I want everyone to know that they're welcome, for any reason, whether it's for questions, concerns with the moonblessings this place bestows upon us, medical aid, or simply for a cup of coffee and some fresh pastries for the company. We are all here on our own and it's the least that I can offer to support others.
( You know, Understatement Of The Century™️, but moving right along. You can practically read the warm little smile like to be on her face if she were speaking this aloud. )
I've seen countless posts here seeking commiseration on feelings and effects people have experienced, worries, concerns— and nowhere else to put them. I hope you're all well and have found the answers you need. While I am primarily a surgeon and combat medic, I never mind listening or offering another perspective if you ever wish for something more private and a touch professional. You could call it part of my job to assist others in shifting their typical way of thinking into something a little more positive after a life-changing injury and its recovery.
I do plan on joining the trip so that a medic is present, so the clinic may be closed for a few days. If anyone wishes to post their contact information on the door for others remaining in Prismatica, please feel free to do so! I would rest easier knowing that there are eyes out for all of us, across both places.
And if you wish to know me a bit better, why don't we play a game? Two truths and a lie. Let's see, I'll start...
1. I once won a spider-catching competition.
2. I've spent more time camping than living in my house.
3. My favorite color is yellow.

I can understand the discomfort of trusting ourselves to the scientists of this place, so I figured it best if I offered my services.
And I have plenty of funds, here. It's no trouble and it keeps me busy.
Have you only just arrived? Surely you had the excited introductions post-rescue.
You won't need any maple syrup or moose here, and the knights are... well.
The knights don't wear red here, at the very least.
no subject
like you know when youre a kid and the neighbor down the hall tries to tell you not to take candy from the guy across from her because its free and next time to just go home? like that
nothings free so its cool to hear that may be wrong but i figure if you were like mister handsy johnson people wouldnt be so ready to not warn the rest of us
you seem cool anyway
you pegged it just got here
that knight thing had me straight fucked up
no subject
I would imagine there's a large degree of separation, provided I took over a decade of schooling specifically to learn how to maintain boundaries and remain professional in my approach with patients.
Besides, as I said, I don't need the money. It doesn't cost me terribly much to provide care, as I already had the tools and the supplies are negligible in cost.
But thank you; I'm glad I seem cool.
I come from Switzerland, after all. 😉
( She's such an Embarrassing Mom with her stupid jokes. )
Has anyone said "Welcome to Prismatica" yet?
Difficult as it is to be stuck here; I promise it hasn't been so bad, overall.
The people are kind and the issues cropping up are almost entirely because of the added energy our presence has caused.
Growing pains, essentially.
What was it about the Knights that threw you off?
no subject
kinda
with less candy and less restraining orders from the generalized public that i only learned about years later
i guess different
probably totally different and a lot nicer
funnier jokes too
[[It's the most parental someone's been and been funny at the same time. He'll take it.]]
no
but its cool i dont need a welcome im not into stockholm syndrome
ill give you question for answer
i probably shouldve listened closer
whats this mission youre going on i was busy looking for a way back not a way to have to help yet
re knights
they do seem to be chill compadres and theyre actual knights as good as it gets
im a knight class
my best bro is a knight class
but dont seem to be doing the same shit we were
no subject
I don't have candy, off-hand, but I do have pastries a friend bakes, to offer to company.
If that helps at all.
( NO ANGELA IT DOESN'T stop trying to one-up the pedophiles. )
I don't imagine many of us are, but without a way back, it's unfortunately our home for a bit, regardless.
The best we can do is try to make it comfortable for one another.
As for the mission, we somehow process this energy source they call "Chroma" that the natives are unable to harness either themselves, biologically, or through technology— since our arrival here, the city has regained quite a lot of liveliness but there are places beyond the city still suffering.
A couple of months ago, there was a clutch of dragons in their own society who had eggs that wouldn't hatch from the lack of Chroma.
They brought their eggs to us to allow them the chance at a next generation, and then we transported them back to the mountain range they lived in.
Now it seems that the visiting fox people of this other city, Amegahara, have much the same problem.
So our presence has been requested to help restore some measure of life to their corner of the world, as well.
This Chroma is something the natives have been reimbursing is for monetarily and they regard us rather highly for simply existing.
But if we don't engage with one another, its production stops and we end up burning through it, like any other form of energy. You could begin to crystallize or outright pass away from it.
They're trying to figure out what it is that allows us to process the energy so that they can recreate it themselves and not rely on us as they have been.
The matter of sending us "home" is another beast entirely, I'm afraid, as they have no idea how we arrived here in the first place.
I'm sorry that was a long answer; I hope it's clear enough to understand. Someone else made a network post about it with other aspects covered as well.
The Moon Knights have done as admirably as they possibly can to keep up with the fluctuations of the city with our presence; but they're kind, yes.
When you say "knight class", do you mean you're studying to be a knight, yourself?
What was it you were doing?
no subject
hey everyones got to start somewhere
next thing you know youll have a stand up comedy central in your waiting room for amateur hour
a good pun is a good pun and baked shit is better than candy once you hit a certain age
then i think its less molesty sounding
[[He isn't expecting that level of explanation but damn she didn't let him down. That's more information than he thinks he got out of what he did listen to. They shouldn't offer any information until anyone settles in, he's been more concerned with feeling this place out and trying to get home than what they need him for or why he's here.]]
no dont be sorry i wasnt expecting something so detailed but i just needed a second to collect my brain cells back in their original formation
not literally just so were clear like metaphorically
i wouldnt have known that history either if you didnt tell me so... thats okay thats good
this is good
its fine
this is all fine
no way home and enslaved for my energy like a god damn psychic leeched dairy cow
i feel less guilty for not drinking milk growing up now
i mean it hatches dragons so thats kindve cool
theres fox people
also kind of cool
pastry too which is very cool
and free health care so i mean that already makes up for your basic wage
yeah
[[It's easier for him to move on to the other bits and he does with gusto so he doesn't have to think of this outcome. If he had a copy of the game at least they could re-start their own world and he could maybe find a way back to his. Then again there's a few people he's met who are pretty cool so he doesn't want them to blow up and die just for that to happen. Alright holding hands is a better option if it's for other people but the social awkwardness he's taking no responsibility for.]]
kind of
i was a knight already if i liked it or not but i guess its okay it comes with perks nowadays
trying to figure out an easy way to explain what i was doing
i mean battling shit i was doing that
fighting along side my friends and shit that had different classes than i did...
alright fuck it
theres classes and aspects
knight is the class and time is my aspect
there was a knight of blood too which means he was a knight class with a blood aspect
so we do what knights do using our respective classifications and aspects
bloods a little misleading i really thought a blood player would actually fuck with blood which i was not looking forward to
turns out no its like friendship and bonds and shit that they can cultivate to strengthen or something so we want to fight for each other i guess? hes pretty easy to get along with when hes done screaming and sounding like he isnt easy to get along with
he told me more but it got really technical
i havent seen him or anyone else here yet from any of the timelines which hopefully means theyre home
like real home
anyway class and aspect wise
i could list you all the shit but i dont even know if im making sense or if this is just rambling like usual
its probably rambling like usual
side note i bet youd be a really good life player theyre kinda like impromptu doctors
going turbo within 5 comments: our specialty
But the baked goods you're welcome to any time; I keep a table in the lobby at my clinic. No appointment needed.
I hadn't considered it being quite like a dairy cow.
Maybe more like a solar panel.
( angela no )
It's fascinating, at the very least, if difficult to wrap one's mind around in full.
I think I understand the concept, yes. Was it something for your country?
Or more like... a game? From the sounds of it.
I'm rather fond of that definition of "blood" myself, I think.
But I'm sorry to hear you're here alone; that isn't an easy place to be.
I know I'm a stranger, but if you'd ever like the company, you're free to come by.
Are they "healers", then? With some sort of power?
Hell yes. Doesn't help that Dave =/= a punctuation fan so I'm trying to find a middle ground.
i didnt even think of an appointment i think i went to a doctor once back home and that was mandatory or i probably wouldnt have
ok i like how you turned that around
im not happy to be a cow but idk i could deal with being a solar panel
[[Angela yes.
Normally he'd launch into a long winded, cuss filled, cool guy schpeel but it's reading her saying he can come by
without knowing Karkat was there until a few days laterthat's got him sort of tilting his head and re-reading it. Trying to mull over what to say while he types out in contrast with the other things.]]it started like a game just shit got real i guess
yeah hes got a lot of good shit to say sometimes if you can hear after hes done shouting them guys a bit loud
[[It's still on his mind how he's supposed to answer kindness in that measure. Obviously not with anger or something dumb. All he knows is dumb or facade but he thinks he may have nailed it a little bit.]]
i might just take you up on that
ill figure out somethin to bring in return if i do
yeah kind of
they can bring us back if we die
but any of our classpects used for anything other than good could really fuck someone up
every one of our classpects have drawbacks even "healers"
ur good!!
( He sounds young, to her. It's all the more reason to try and feed him even if it's just pastries and some tea, not wanting to see the younger ones having to deal with this place sooner than later. Give them some space to breathe and find a comfortable place where they're not as lost.
Adults are simply more used to being alone, after a fashion. (And she'll appreciate the missing long-winded, curse-filled cool guy schpeel because she's old and would have to sit on it for a hot minute.) )
You don't need to bring me anything; you should save what money you have until you've settled here.
But I'm sorry to hear you ended up with more than you'd signed up for.
It sounds as though it was quite stressful.
Was that all that the healers could do was revive you?
What were the consequences?
no subject
[[His age is definitely against him, but he's never done himself any help with how he speaks, either. She's not wrong to assume it and Dave wouldn't be upset at the realization either. There's pastries, too, so there's no reason to be upset. Being offered food is about the best thing someone could do to someone used to being food punished.
He's pleased by the exchange and at least not as upset as he was thinking about their situations. It's still unappealing and will likely get under his skin, but he'll at least live with the idea of solar panel somewhere in there.
The knight is definitely having a bit of a thought on what life players might be able to do.]]
mostly healers i guess but jane the life player we had with us healed someone even after they got decapitated
[[By Dave, but there was no other way.]]
but if you got someone who was a thief of life for example
could be just as bad as it sounds
it depends on the person and on their class
as for consequences it could be somethin as small as shit all or you end up dooming your timeline because it could have just as easily been you that got your throat slit without a life player in your session
this was for keeps man
ok im rambling
life players could probably do a lot of shit if they wanted to just depends on if theyre a prick or not and what their classes are like to go with the aspect
boring shit i know
no subject
I like to think of it more as "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" put into one's demeanor.
But I'm glad it doesn't seem off-putting to you.
And that's quite the healing ability! I wish I could say I could do the same.
Unfortunately the spinal cord's a very tricky thing.
But it sounds as though I should be thankful for my physical skill in place of a magical one of chance.
You're free to ramble; I hope I'm following along. 😄
It sounds as though the criteria were quite versatile. Was it something you had freedom to choose?
I never did catch your name though.
no subject
its not just healing but im not a life player so i dont know all the intricacies
you can bring people back to life with cpr too
so i mean its not exclusive except the cut head off thing
and nope the game chose for us idk based on what though
o
shit um
its dave strider no big secret promise
no subject
And while you're not wrong, it would be nice to give people another chance to live appropriately, though there are still some things not to be trifled with.
I imagine waiting too long would have an ill effect on anyone.
Brain death and its quick degeneration isn't so easy to skirt around.
I'm sure the game had its reasons for where it slotted you!
And it's nice to meet you, Dave Strider the Knight Class.
( Yes, she's 1000% teasing you, just a little bit. Promise she'll just call you Dave like a normal person. )
no subject
in his defence it was for a good cause and we had no choice
you know i have no clue im going to assume yes because deterioration is a thing and i guess none of the timelines i ever peeked into were zombie timelines so... take that how you will
haha holy shit
wow i sound like at least a hundred percent cooler when someone puts it that way
i need a walmart badge with that shit on it
tbh it was probably my bro somehow
that guy could do anything
almost anything
most things
[[He doesn't mind the tease, it's good natured and he wishes it wasn't almost to the point he should be afraid at how comfortable he is talking to her.]]
no subject
But not getting your head lopped off is certainly preferable for most.
And avoiding a zombie apocalypse is usually favorable.
Scientifically-speaking, they wouldn't really be able to survive the deterioration from heat and bacteria spread, or function in cold climates for more than a few days at best. And that's with the benefit of the doubt that other factors even allow them animation.
I'll see if I can't arrange for something whenever we meet. :)
( She's totally going to make you a name badge or a medal or something with that title now. )
Ah, was he a player in this game as well?
So I suppose it's hereditary in a way?
no subject
but yeah i dont think he liked it or anything
most people wouldnt
including the zombie thing like you think about it and youre like fuck id be so baller and then you die because youre too cocky
anyway yeah zombies are pretty unrealistic and so is repeatedly gettin your head lopped so im glad we agree on those things
haha id fuckin die
but not like dead die
[[An auto biography by David E. Strider.]]
um
tbh i dont know
if anything i got a suspicion hed end up being prince of heart which isnt as great as it sounds
i think the game counted him as a player but true to form he fucked off and did whatever badass thing he was doing and left me to my devices
then got killed so i mean even less answers
re no zombies so
you know
its whatever though
[[Says past Dave who doesn't know that his future self is dealing with said dead father.]]
no subject
And I would much prefer you not die, so perhaps I should hold off...? I can't go making you explode in emotion.
Were there a lot of players in this game?
Oh... I'm so sorry, Dave. I didn't know he'd passed.
Did you still have anyone...?
no subject
which idk is that better or worse in zombie world?
haha nah im good emotions are for suckers
maybe
not sure
blowing up is though so we good
uh
four to start with
then later on we met karkat and his band of merry bugs
bugs died mostly various ways
thank god not karkat though
then we met four more humans
its okay
[[No it isn't.]]
kinda
sister survivedish
then met more players i guess?
its cool though he taught me how to take care of myself
no subject
Or perhaps the virus takes hold regardless. If it's simply genetic or organic and follows brain death, as if some other organ takes over, you should be just fine.
Theoretically. 😉
And emotions are good things, I promise.
Your life hasn't been an easy one.
I'm sorry there's been so much loss.
I know how hard it is to overcome that each and every time and how it begins to weigh on one's heart.
( Her insistence on saying as much is enough to encompass her intent— no, it's not okay. )
Still, you're young.
We all need guidance through a large portion of our lives.
Even now, I still feel lost, sometimes.
I just hope you find that support in others, with time.
no subject
ill take theoretical zombification
when your last name is strider you beat a lot of shit by sheer skill
thats a prescription you can keep this time
im good that shit only gets a guy in trouble
[[It isn't okay, he knows it isn't, but if he says it out loud that makes it not okay.]]
aw cmon dont go all soft on me
honest doc its all right
im a guy doing a thing thats all
[[A guy. Doing a thing. That's a guy doing a thing.]]
no subject
I've been this soft my entire life; you've just yet to know me long enough to realize it.
Whenever I see you, you're obligated to accept one hug.
It can be a short one.
