second ☕✨ text (opening a clinic & a game!)
Guete Morge, everyone!
I will try to keep this brief. I've posted once before but I imagine it's more likely that if you know me, you've met me in person or know a mutual acquaintance; my name is Angela Ziegler. I'm the doctor that has opened the Second Nature Clinic on level 2. It has officially been set up and I've worked up a preliminary amount of basic medications that should be familiar to most such as allergy medication, pain management, decongestants, and other such things.
More importantly, there is no charge for any of my services if anyone ever needs to come by or contact me. I'll also gladly come to you if you're not comfortable in medical facilities or don't wish to leave your apartment. I think we all know by now the effect we can have on others, depending on the time of the month. I want everyone to know that they're welcome, for any reason, whether it's for questions, concerns with the moonblessings this place bestows upon us, medical aid, or simply for a cup of coffee and some fresh pastries for the company. We are all here on our own and it's the least that I can offer to support others.
( You know, Understatement Of The Century™️, but moving right along. You can practically read the warm little smile like to be on her face if she were speaking this aloud. )
I've seen countless posts here seeking commiseration on feelings and effects people have experienced, worries, concerns— and nowhere else to put them. I hope you're all well and have found the answers you need. While I am primarily a surgeon and combat medic, I never mind listening or offering another perspective if you ever wish for something more private and a touch professional. You could call it part of my job to assist others in shifting their typical way of thinking into something a little more positive after a life-changing injury and its recovery.
I do plan on joining the trip so that a medic is present, so the clinic may be closed for a few days. If anyone wishes to post their contact information on the door for others remaining in Prismatica, please feel free to do so! I would rest easier knowing that there are eyes out for all of us, across both places.
And if you wish to know me a bit better, why don't we play a game? Two truths and a lie. Let's see, I'll start...
1. I once won a spider-catching competition.
2. I've spent more time camping than living in my house.
3. My favorite color is yellow.

Yo, please tell me the spider thing's a lie Ange.
[please....]

She's laughing to his immediate reply. )
Are you afraid of spiders, Hizashi?
I'll try not to be too detailed, but it's not a lie, no.
I went in on a dare with the soldiers at the nearby encampment on catching camel spiders in Afghanistan and happened to win; they had to give up their cigarettes for a month.

Work alone where, Süässli?
My clinic, or Amegahara?
There is another medic that helps me with the clinic, at least, but I'm not certain whether or not he's going along.

That said- I believe the first two are correct. I cannot imagine you have ever been frightened of spiders, and you look best in blue.
voice;
Blue is my favorite. And spiders don't bother me in the least.

[Hi, Angela. Someone's read through the other responses here.]
But far be it from me to not offer my own.
1. I have a favorite professional wrestler.
2. Of all places I've visited, I enjoy Brazil the most.
3. I have a weakness for Italian food.
no subject
Haha, that was hopefully the catch!
I was a combat medic that worked with Médecins Sans Frontières before, so I was stationed in Afghanistan and its surroundings quite often.
I had to keep the soldiers on their toes somehow. 🙂
But let's see, now...
Brazil is quite beautiful, and I think we're all genetically predispositioned to enjoy carbohydrates, so...

Though I realize that's difficult to parse when I don't wear my uniform nor have many of you met me before!

It's a relief to know someone will still be around to keep an eye on everyone. 😊
We have some reckless ones here, so I won't feel as badly for going to help!
Am I sure?
I could likely be convinced.
But if asked outright, no, it's not my favorite, haha.
It's actually blue!
Now, it's your turn. ♥

If it's difficult to travel, I can come to you, if you can send me a location pin.
And fortunately or unfortunately, 1 & 2 go hand-in-hand for me!
Some of the American soldiers MSF met up with were obsessed with camel spiders; I just happened to win the bet on catching the most, because they were looking for giant creatures instead of tiny ones.
But that means it's your turn, if you're able!
( She's going to worry if she's ok or not, first. )

Would your acquaintance be interested in simply working at my clinic? So we can share equipment and supplies, and she won't have to worry about another location to maintain. One of my friends from home is also working with me, but the more the merrier.
I would welcome the extra hands if you ever wish to nudge her my way.
How have you been, in the meantime?
( Don't they all have a little bit of that stubbornness in them? She's sure she does, as well. )
action; (if that's still okay!)
He really only meant to stop by to alert the owner that the sign is unhinged and needs to be fixed before it falls on someone... it's probably not the doctor's area and something they would have to call to whomever maintains the block - but there would still be brutal irony in someone getting hurt because of a clinic's sign.
Nisha stamps his big paws against the floor and he gives some pause, rummaging through the bag on the side of his wheelchair to give him a treat. The large mastiff, all black and brown fur, sits at Belias's side, coming about to his elbow as he sits in his wheelchair, cutting a slightly intimidating figure despite the way he perches his muzzle on the armrest. Belias gives him a few pats on the head. ]
We'll wait a bit longer, and then we'll continue our walk.
(absolutely! ♥)
When he comes in and knocks, he'll hear a soft "Just a moment!" from down the hallway near-immediately, and she's wiping grease off her fingertips on a clean white cloth as she exits from a brief glimpse of a workshop nearly a full minute later, smiling just as gently. The dog gets a blink of surprise from her, but her smile only widens another fraction to the way he rests his head on the arm of the man's chair, seemingly disgruntled. )
Hello! I apologize for the wait; I had to tie up a delicate little project and be sure to power things down appropriately. How may I help? —Can I get you a cup of coffee, or some tea?
( She'll offer him a (now) clean hand, slender and cool with a few minor callouses along the sides of her fingertips, like writer's bumps. )

I can understand the discomfort of trusting ourselves to the scientists of this place, so I figured it best if I offered my services.
And I have plenty of funds, here. It's no trouble and it keeps me busy.
Have you only just arrived? Surely you had the excited introductions post-rescue.
You won't need any maple syrup or moose here, and the knights are... well.
The knights don't wear red here, at the very least.

But hey, if you need a long-term supplier for the coffee and pastries part of your treatment once everyone gets back, I'd be happy to help. Just. Don't make me dress up like a nurse.
And I think maybe it's the camping one? Except probably not since I think you've told me before about being a field medic. Or maybe I assumed that. I don't know, you seem like a field work type. I'll pick the spider one instead.

I want to be able to keep an eye out for everyone, myself, and see what the new city has to offer by way of knowledge and history.
Call it a bit of a pet project with some friends, here.
I currently get my baked goods from a friend every few days, but I would love to feature yours, as well!
I don't think anyone could turn down one of your pies, Ned. 😊 ♥
I'll try to resist the urge to request a costume. You would have the legs for those little skirts, after all.
( Angela let the poor man live, god. )
It was a good save, and you're correct that I was a field medic!
Unfortunately 1 & 2 go hand-in-hand; I have spent far more time away from my home than in it, but that also included catching camel spiders to keep the soldiers in line and earn a bit of their respect so they'd listen when I gave medical directions. 😉
Will I get to choose, now?

[He wants to go, but honestly, every time something has happened here involving the natives of the universe, it has turned out badly. At least in his experience. Maybe that's more reason for him to go.]
For the game, I want to say spider-catching competition, because I've never heard of that.
no subject
And I have to admit, the technology intrigues me. 😉
Were you thinking of it, or do you think you'll stay back to man the clinic?
It sounds like there are other healers around willing to make themselves available, at least, so there's no real obligation, if you're interested.
( She gets it and feels much the same way; she wants to ensure everyone is safe for that reason, and her curiosity gets the best of her, in the end. It's probably no surprise at this point. )
You never saw the bit about camel spiders some decades ago, with the American soldiers in Afghanistan?
They were quite obsessed with them. It was a solid bet.
I had hundreds of confiscated cigarettes by the time I was done. ♥

If you need any help there, let me know. I was a doctor back home, but I haven't been able to do much with it here. Except patching up a few bumps and bruises here and there. It's not nearly as exciting as working in an actual hospital/clinic setting.
no subject
And the more hands available, the merrier; though I can't promise it's exactly a formal clinic, either.
I have a workshop in the back to assist with prosthetics and cybernetics, which is a fair enough demand here, and it's as "homey" as possible.
I wanted it to be comfortable instead of clinical.
There are enough people here wary of care with the Prismals or outright afraid of hospitals.
It was the least I could do in its design.
May I ask what your specialties are, in case we need to forward anyone to one another?
And let me know what days or hours you would like to be present.
I often stay the mornings and my partner the afternoons, with contact information for all hours otherwise.
( ooc: hi! if you'd like her to be on the official roster from the business page, please feel free to fill out the form on the business post— and you can make a toplevel on the permanent log linked on the page if you'd like, over here, for medical catch-all things. ♥ it's cool if not, as well! just tossing the relevant links ur way if so. )

Firstly, thank you for your time and effort.
It's heartening to know that import-run clinics are an option here.
If you don't mind, I'd like to ask— are you required to work in conjunction with the Prismals when establishing your own business, or are you given autonomy?
[ obviously a sensible pragmatist, this one. note that he doesn't even participate in the icebreaking game??? tut tut, Barnaby. ]
no subject
Please; it's the least I could do.
It isn't as though we're given much else to do here. I might as well put my skills to use.
And I don't mind in the least!
I did have to apply for a business license with the Prismals, but they were more than happy to help me find a brand new development to purchase out and offered a list of contractors for any work I'd like to have done additionally for a low price.
They seem plenty willing to encourage or elongated stays, happy to see us settling.
But it was otherwise solely at my discretion and they weren't too concerned with the nature of my business or credentials, as they already vetted me in my work with the rescue parties.
I hope that has helped!
Were you interested in opening a business, yourself?

It felt appropriate. 😊 If a bit silly.
But maybe that makes it a little more welcoming.
Unfortunately, 1 & 2 are a set!
I have absolutely won a spider-catching competition in the desert, held against the local militia.
I was camped in a ridge with other medical volunteers just in time for the migratory season.
