How many of you here are immortal? Whether it be by natural means or otherwise. How do you feel about your immortality?

You don't need to tell me how or why you are, I'm simply curious. I myself have lived for 500 years, so I'm looking for kindred spirits, one might say.

Of course if you're not immortal and you know someone who is, I'd be glad to hear that as well. This platform was made to share opinions, correct? I'd enjoy having everyone's different perspectives.

Interesting. I'm always fascinated to learn about the different ways life can evolve. Your world must be incredibly different from this, considering the biology and life expectancy of your people.

Somewhat, yes. But also to gauge how common or uncommon immortality was across the many worlds we all represent here.

I'll admit I did have one ulterior motive -- that is, to prove a point to a good friend. I think it's been proven.

They're human on the inside. Or they were. Their upgrades encased their body with metal. It's hard to kill them when conventional weapons do little. And they have very little qualms about killing anyone else.

No, I wouldn't say so. I have friends who are immortal, and friends who are not. One learns to value the time one spends with them, when it's so limited comparatively.

Speaking is much easier, I'll have to go for a visit someday. I've always wanted to.

Oh, I know quite a few. I speak German, English, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Romanian... Of course, French and Latin, and Japanese, though it's by far my weakest. When you live as long as I have and travel as much as I do, you pick up a variety of skills.

Perhaps this is something you should discuss with them, dark though the subject it may be. Their opinions matter deeply to you, so it's only reasonable that you consult those things with them.

I've tried telling him that, and yet every time it's all "oh I'm so alone, I'm going to be alone for eternity." Never mind that I've been his friend for hundreds of years.

Perhaps he simply doesn't wish to admit that he considers you a friend? Not that I can really say much about a stranger's relationships. You seem like a nice person though, Mister Comte, and I'm glad to hear that neither you nor your friend are here alone.

Ah, yes. Some of my friends opted for pseudonyms that were a bit further from the mark than I did but if you ask them, I'm quite prideful. Which of course, I am, but why wouldn't I be?

On to more important things, however! I'd hardly turn down an opportunity to have a nice time at a cafe. When would be the best time for you?

I don’t know if I’m immortal, but all the people around me aren’t. That much I’m sure of.

It can be. Certainly for those who are not, it is... unnerving.

You should take good care of those people, then. Even if you aren't, I've found that's fairly universal advice.
