How many of you here are immortal? Whether it be by natural means or otherwise. How do you feel about your immortality?

You don't need to tell me how or why you are, I'm simply curious. I myself have lived for 500 years, so I'm looking for kindred spirits, one might say.

Of course if you're not immortal and you know someone who is, I'd be glad to hear that as well. This platform was made to share opinions, correct? I'd enjoy having everyone's different perspectives.

Not immortal myself, but I know a bunch of folks that may be. Won't say much unless I see them speaking for themselves though. They might not like others speaking about it.

Though, you wouldn't be able to tell they are important, here. They bleed and act the same as everyone else.

Interesting. I too am able to be momentarily injured though I heal far faster than most. I won't ask you to divulge information on their behalf, but I'll keep that in mind.

I wouldn't qualify myself as 'immortal' in the same light as you would yourself, but likewise, I was born in Ancient India, and in a way, continue to exist to this day.

In regards to how I feel...
I suppose due to its differences and the continuous purpose that is tied to my existence in this realm, I do not feel as though it is something that I must or should pay much thought towards.
My physical body is not something that should exist for long periods of time, but my soul and my name are, I suppose, omnipresent.
I'm afraid my answer is not as satisfactory as you would expect.

That's perfectly fine. A long life can, in many ways, feel like immortality compared to how short human lives are.

Not quite immortal, but my kind is difficult to kill and I have lived for nearly five million years myself. My kind is long-lived.

I never gave much thought about it. It's normal...

I suppose it does make any relations with humans or short-lived species difficult to keep for a long time, however.

Yes! Something of the sort. A dear friend of mine thinks immortality is incredibly lonely, so this is an attempt to show him that it doesn't need to be.

That depends. There are many different kinds of immortals, it seems.

But if you do not age, you may be immortal. Or if you're able to recover from any wound, then you may be immortal as well.

I'm immortal in a sense? I can die or be killed but I can be reincarnated over and over with all my memories and the same body. If no one tries to kill me then I'm naturally immortal, yeah. I can make others live for over a thousand years or so if I touch them with my a power of mine.

Immortal?
A lot of people seem to be very open with these things here, I'm still very unsure of it myself though. I wouldn't mind getting to know others, I'm currently a little over 250 years old but am still very nervous when it comes to being around humans.

The last time someone managed to see what I was it ended badly, luckily I don't die too easily. But I still have nightmares where I could feel it all over again.

I am hoping to inspire others to do the same. You have nothing to fear from the people here -- they've been nothing but kind.

Nonetheless, I understand your reservation when dealing with humans. They are generally unreasonable in large groups. 250 years is plenty of time to see them at their worst, and their best.

Of course, I don't make a habit of announcing what I am in my own world, but here... things are different. We're all outsiders, this is but a minor difference in comparison.

That depends how you view immortality. What you describe is as if some God, and I've met some who were not. My favorite, reborn once again with no memories of their previous life.

True, there are different kinds.

For myself, I cannot be killed and do not age. That covers both of the biggest factors, I imagine.

I was born in the Kingdom of Egypt during what I believe mortals now call the 18th Dynasty, so I guess that makes me even older than yourself... however, I actually wish that weren't the case because I, too, would like to join my tomb-building ancestors in Duat one day.

I'm afraid I haven't heard of anything like that, we don't have curses in my world.
But there are those who cannot be killed for several hundred years until their condition becomes such that their lives come to an end.
Technical immortality may be the correct word for that situation.
