Bonjour. I have a question for you all, if you'll indulge me.
How many of you here are immortal? Whether it be by natural means or otherwise. How do you feel about your immortality?
You don't need to tell me how or why you are, I'm simply curious. I myself have lived for 500 years, so I'm looking for kindred spirits, one might say.
Of course if you're not immortal and you know someone who is, I'd be glad to hear that as well. This platform was made to share opinions, correct? I'd enjoy having everyone's different perspectives.
All the best,
Comte de Saint-Germain
[ It's... It's not a letter but he's from the 19th century so. There you go. ]

Nonetheless, I understand your reservation when dealing with humans. They are generally unreasonable in large groups. 250 years is plenty of time to see them at their worst, and their best.
Of course, I don't make a habit of announcing what I am in my own world, but here... things are different. We're all outsiders, this is but a minor difference in comparison.

I had been raised by a human family in a small village that treated me kindle until they realized what I was. There were rumors that had gone around that if they ate the flesh of a tengu that they would be blessed by immortality, while it's an old tale that holds no truth you never know who keeps those traditions alive to this day.
After the incident my brother took me in, he fixed the damage done and made it so I could heal quickly in case anything similar should happen again. That doesn't mean I'm still not careful though, especially now since I can't get my medicine regularly.

I am very sorry to hear that. Ignorance and fear can lead even kind people to do cruel things. You no doubt saw humanity at its very worst. You have my deepest sympathies.
I am glad to hear you are not alone, at least in your world. For my kind, loneliness is the worst fate one can face. Has your brother made it here as well?

Thank you, sir... I only hope not to have similar incidents repeated to myself or anyone else that may be different.
What kind of being are you, if you don't mind my asking... There are so many different types of immortals it's often difficult to pinpoint. As for my big brother, sadly I'm the only one that managed to come here. It often gets lonely because I'm used to being with him and some of the others all the time, but I think I can manage if it's only temporarily.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure he would be proud to hear you handling things on your own and remaining strong even in the face of your loneliness.
As for myself, I am a vampire.

But what luck that I should happen to talk to another person about vampires and I get to actually talk to one? What are the chances?
It's okay though, you needn't worry about such unpleasant things. I prefer to try to move past it while still keeping my guard up. Since it seems we're both pretty fond of the nightlife, perhaps we could spend some time on a high perch to enjoy the view of the city lights.

I feel the same, having spoken to several here. Even the humans I've spoken to haven't reacted with violence or revulsion. It's quite a relief.
That's a noble way of looking at it. And I'd like that, the view is especially wonderful from Level 1. Would you like to see it together sometime?
