Bonjour. I have a question for you all, if you'll indulge me.
How many of you here are immortal? Whether it be by natural means or otherwise. How do you feel about your immortality?
You don't need to tell me how or why you are, I'm simply curious. I myself have lived for 500 years, so I'm looking for kindred spirits, one might say.
Of course if you're not immortal and you know someone who is, I'd be glad to hear that as well. This platform was made to share opinions, correct? I'd enjoy having everyone's different perspectives.
All the best,
Comte de Saint-Germain
[ It's... It's not a letter but he's from the 19th century so. There you go. ]

I was simply curious. It's been enlightening to learn about how different worlds share these things.

Are you immortal? Well I mean, I know you said you're 500 years old, but in a place like this that could be like, being 5 for me, ya know?
Also, um, sorry, how do I pronounce your name?
no subject
I am immortal, yes. Not of a curse or gift, simply by birth.
And my name is French. "Comte" is my title, it's pronounced similarly to "Count" but instead of the n, you make an m sound a bit like you are taking a bite of something with your lips. "de Saint-Germain" means "of Saint Germain" and it is pronounced "San Jermahn." The t is silent. The i is too, I suppose, depending on what your native language happens to be.

Oh! Neat! Do you mind my asking anything else?
.... Geeze and I thought English was hard! I would have so pronounced it "Com-ty" or something like that. I don't know French at all.

[ He's having fun answering people so maybe he's taking a break from being super cryptic, who knows. ]
Oui, French can be quite difficult to learn if you are unfamiliar with Romance languages. I speak several, my long live has given me plenty of time to practice.

I'm from Japan, I only speak Japanese and a tiny bit of English. I guess I should learn some French though cause I super wanna go there someday.

That's a good goal to have. It's a beautiful country, but then so too is Japan. I'm a bit of a fan of Japan myself, so I speak it as well. My name is spelled "サン・ジェルマン" in Japanese. A friend of mine helped me learn these, I'm afraid I'd need another lifetime to master your beautiful writing system.
[ wow turns out st germain is a major japanophile, quelle surprise ]

Oh, I know quite a few. I speak German, English, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Romanian... Of course, French and Latin, and Japanese, though it's by far my weakest. When you live as long as I have and travel as much as I do, you pick up a variety of skills.

Oh wooow! That's so amazing! I hope someday to be able to do that much!

It's not as impressive as it sounds, I promise you. Many at the time spoke a variety of languages as well. I've been meaning to learn Greek but I've simply never gotten around to it.

[The text changes, suddenly, to a video and Usagi blushes, offering a little wave.]
Um... hey hi!
video;
Enchanté, mademoiselle. [ He smiles, waving back. ] Ah, or perhaps I should have said hello in Japanese? Ohayou-- no, that's not quite right...
[ His accent in Japanese is Bad. ]
Video;
Oh ah, let me help! Ohayou gozaimasu! [Hey, Usagi will encourage everyone because learning languages is hard!] You were so close, that's great!
video;
Ah, yes, that's it! Thank you for your guidance. I'm afraid Japanese is far from my strongest language. But it's lovely to meet you, Mademoiselle.
