Hello everyone,

I've found that I've had more time to spend working on the culinary arts, as of late, and this has given me the chance to use many ingredients that are new and unfamiliar to me... or at least oddly named. I'm looking for some advice in regards to the following fruit:

What would you call this? Where I'm from, I've always known it as an alligator pear. I've only ever seen it used for a particular sort of salad... or simply eaten on bread. Is there anything else to be done with it?

Also, since the subject is somewhat related, why would the people here call a rolanberry a strawberry, of all things?

Yeah, it's easy to make. I only started learning to cook in the last couple years so I'm no expert, but it helps liven up a lot of bland dishes.

More of an expert on this particular food than I am! I know a fair bit, but I think I'm limited by having mostly studied in one city. I know that they didn't teach how to prepare some of the Ul'dahn dishes I grew up eating and cooking.

I'm really good at grilling and tofu (someone I know is obsessed so I get a lot of practice). What kind of dishes do they have in Ul'dahn?

Ul'dah's the name of the city, actually. There are a lot of very fancy simmered meat dishes, and very complicated pastries that the rich eat, but the common fare is very focused around popotoes and lentils.

So I grew up cooking a lot of vegetable curries, and learning how to make proper flatbread. Oh, and then there are ground meat dishes, too... a meatball or a loaf is more appetizing than being able to recognize whatever scrambling animal the meat actually came from, after all.

Er, yes. They call popotoes "potatoes" here, sometimes I forget that.

I don't think it's about having toes at all, I think it's some sort of word from the continent they're originally from?

I mean if they're just potatoes that's okay. You had me worried for a minute you were cooking with toes.

I can assure that I'm not!

Though I remember having a dish with chicken feet in it, one time in Doma....

Gross. How was it?

Surprisingly good! It tastes like you'd expect chicken to taste, but the texture's very jelly-like.
